4 months too late - Astalor is what sire should have been, you have to play it twice before the final pay out, YOU KNOW they have it in their hand because of it, the dmg is capped at 8+8 and you KNOW the only way they can get more is with brann - I.E its well signaled that this is going to happen - with sire among other problems with the card is that you've no idea if they have it in their hand and sometimes it doesn't matter because guff druid will kill you with some other bullshit 20 mana combo.
Because HS devs that were actual devs by trade left, they hired 4 people from what I know from the HS community with no background in game development, one of them just moved to the BGs team. Its bizarre they're letting essentially laypeople work in a top tier games company ruining a game with clueless card design.
Doesn't matter what deck or class I play, soon as I hit Diamond 4-5 the games are ridiculous. Decks full of stupid shit happening all the time.
The cards that I think are the mostly ******** include;
Brann Theotar Mutanus Sire
I've known RNG in the past and I respect that it's required in the game but these combinations (and without Brann) can literally destroy a win condition and waste 10-15 minutes of your time completely. I actually really enjoy RNG but only to the point that it doesn't change games completely.
I mean it's not even skill based, it's literally pure RNG and it's disgusting tbh. I can Brann + Theotar all day long and I'll end up with shitty cards but as soon as my opponent uses it he pulls my win conditions away from me, every, single, time.
Fucking shit game.
I branned + Theo, then Mutanus the following turn, died to their sire brann from hand anyway :D
Im done with the game until they replace the HS dev team with actual game designers
I am so fucking sick of this Relic Demon Hunter deck. If they hit their curve, the power swings are fucking unbelievable. Why can't this game be actually about strategy and thoughtfulness rather than "did I draw my OP shit in the right order'?
Its what happens when they hire people that have no game dev background, experience or education for an already established game, which then pushes even worse sales strategies because revenue is PLUMMETING for HS.
Didn't expect anything less than a dumb response from another HS player. Based on your post history this is just how you are, which is a big yikes to me. Good riddance.
Just because you don't like the criticism someone's offering towards HS doesn't mean its wrong.
> Please provide a link where I can try the intricate and perfectly balanced game that you've designed. I'd really love to see it.
is a tone deaf comment.
Given how big blizzard is and this is how little they invest in HS design is a joke and I cant take any of it seriously.
I've been migrating over to Gwent over the last month or so, it has something that HS lost a LONG time ago. Which is diverse design, creating cards that let you make decks rather than having prepackaged imp or w/e else deck - its just boring, once you've seen those cards announced you don't even need to play the game to see how it plays, because there's nothing else to it, there's nothing else you can add or do with that architype other than what they've already made it do for you, draw card play card - a lot of these architypes are flat and aren't interesting, its another mech deck with a different sticker on it.
In Gwent if I feel like making a bandit deck or a bomb deck with some cool synergies, I can do that, is it going to be a meta deck - no, can I win with it? yes. Point is, you've choice, cool designs. They release less cards at MUCH higher quality of gameplay and design meanwhile reworking cards that didn't work out.
How many cards in each HS are just useless? Why print them, waste art assets just to meet a quarterly 135 card quota? Some cards in HS in the recent years have been ok or cool buuuut currently its just becoming frustrating and toxic.
If you like the game and the direction its going in then great.
HS is getting an uptick of returning players me being one of them meanwhile loosing the same amount from poor design choices like myself - the game IS EXPENSIVE and the commitment it requires in contrast to what you get is a joke which means attracting new players is super difficult meanwhile pushing away players like myself.
I'm curious how this will effect the size of the player base considering the % of players that contribute towards HS player count that play BGs.
Seems like this is the direction they're going in, so that wont change.
Brode liked RNG meanwhile the current design team likes disruption RNG.
Cards like this aren't for me either, an odd way of game design since it polarizes part of the community, at the pack of them being ok with creating cards that evoke negative responses from players. That felt like a weird/troll comment to me.
