You cannot stop people being mad over the poor state of a game they payed money for. If they can no longer enjoy themselves thanks to the meta, and dropped over 50$ on packs, you can bet they'll be pissed.
I agree. What I meant by Geist not being good enough was that it isn't good enough as a Druid Nerf. It's clear to see that the intention of Geist is to punish Idol, but since that isn't the problem, the nerf isn't good enough.
Please move this post over to the Salt thread. It's not my fault that players are too stupid to run more than one Skulking Geist in a deck, something that Kripp was guilty of.
The problem isn't even drawing it on curve. I said that. Jade Idol didn't impact that game in a way Geist could have stopped.
Blizzard gives you a card that destroys all Jade Idols and people like you just cry and say it's not good enough.
Yeah, because it actually isn't good enough. I tried to make that pretty clear. If Blizzard nerfs Jade Druid, and then gives them amazing support as well, nothing changes.
Skulking Geist is a decent card. It was made with good intent. Putting a roadblock down for Jade Druid by creating a tech for Jade Idol was a great idea, Jade Idol was an unbalanced card. It needed to be stopped. This is fine, however, there are two massive problems with Skulking Geist. It's a massive tempo loss, and Jade Druid doesn't need Jade Idol to win.
Looking at other tech cards, you can see a pretty glaring difference. Golakka Crawler, Eater of Secrets, and Hungry Crab all become very strong tempo cards when their effect triggers. On the other hand, Skulking Geist will always stay at the abysmal 4/6 for 6 Statline. Other tech cards are good tempo while using their strong effects, and Skulking Geist is awful tempo while effectively being a slap on the wrist.
Jade Druid has become an incredibly fast deck. They can apply pressure extremely fast thanks to stuff like Jade Blossom ramping both Mana and Jades, and you will never have a free turn to play the tech card you have pretty much exclusively for this deck. We see proof of this in a recent HSReplay study. https://hsreplay.net/articles/24/how-good-skulking--275K-plays-analyzed Jade Idol was destoyed 82,620 times. Potion of Madness was destroyed 103,266 times. This is because Priest is putting on WAY less pressure. You can play Skulking Geist without being slaughtered next turn. As a result, Potion of Madness has been hit 20,000 times more than the card most people are running Skulking Geist for.
Part of the reason Jade Druid has sped up is the new massive value cards they got. Ultimate Infestation is amazing card draw, and Spreading Plague murders any board-flood. Removing Cheap/Infinite Lategame Jades isn't a fatal blow, and it cost you all your tempo.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/166806445?t=01h05m07s Observe this game. Kripp matches with a Druid. He is running a Skulking Geist in his deck. The Druid player ramps and builds up the Jades, then plays Ultimate Infestation to refill on Turn 7. Even though Kripp draws Skulking Geist, he cannot play it. He tries to stabilize a board, but another Ultimate Infestation followed by Double Swipe kills him. Even if Kripp got to play Skulking Geist on curve, Jade Idol wasn't even used in the turns where it would have been removed from the deck. While running a dedicated tech card, he couldn't even play it. It didn't help him enough. This is because the tech is only stopping a small part of what makes the deck strong, and offers you negative tempo in return.
Sadly, some Death Knights like Frost Lich Jaina got like no support cards, but Thrall, Deathseer and Bloodreaver Gul'dan can definitely see play over cards in already existing decks. Arfus has god-awful stats for something that can give you a whiff Death Knight card or get slammed by Potion of Madness.
This isn't even the first time they've used Scarabs. When Malfurion the Pestilent was revealed, at first I thought it was spawning the ones that Obsidian Destroyer was lmao.
Execute costs 2 as well, and the requirement is pretty similar to Toxic Arrow if you think about it.
The massive deference between Execute and Toxic Arrow is that Execute works off a shit ton more things and will almost never be a dead card.
If your opponent trades into your minions, you can Execute theirs. If you're using Whirlwind effects, you can Execute anything. If you run a Low Attack minion into their minion, you can Execute it.
Toxic Arrow only removes a minion if you have a 3+ Health minion and are going to trade while it has Poisonous, or the minion you want to kill has 2 Health.
Hunter's Mark is a shit card and shouldn't be mentioned in this thread.
Hunter's Mark is a great card in a ton of Hunter decks and is better than Toxic Arrow in a majority of situations because it doesn't require your minion to have 3+ Health for it to trade into something and kill it.
Really strong if you get to Turn 10, might make a deck like Deathrattle and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. Demons are generally strong. Hero Power puts the Druid DK to shame.

TL;DR - Please nerf Druid

It hasn't even been a week. Calm down.

Starting Hero Power is the only thing that gets upgraded.

Good list, what are your thoughts on Defile?

This seems REALLY good with the 1/5's from Spreading Plague, Druid of the Swarm, and Malfurion the Pestilent

Won't get a slot in decks over Hunter's Mark
