posted a message on The problem with the game has and is mana cheat and draw

Yeah, that summarizes the issue this game has been going towards for quite some time now. All the decent meta decks either can cheat a lot of mana and draw at the same time or they are lighting fast aggro to the point where they don't need to cheat a lot of mana.

If this is the worst incarnation of shaman you’ve ever faced then you clearly weren’t around during tunnel trogg or powermace/whirling zippomatic…

Oh my sweet summer child, green as the warm grass you were just delivered on.

Yeah there are so many bad shaman metas. Those 2 you mentioned were probably the worst but I can also think of Galakrond Shaman and Evolve Shaman (the last one with weapon and dread corsair) being much much more disgusting than current eleshaman.

posted a message on Why there is so much hate on Mercenary mode or on Hearthstone in general?
    Quote from pichubanggia >>

The amout of hate and rage on this platform is astonishing. I understand that people are forever complaining the meta as there are always hate for certain cards/decks/playstyle. However, with the announcement of mercenaries mode, things get crazy. People hate the mode that they haven't played yet! They are not forced to play and even can play it for free if they want to. Ofcourse Blizz wants to earn money, but who do not? Cross-sale is a very popular technique to sale more products to an existing set of customer. It is well-known that getting new customers is much harder to retain the same one. And as a customer, if you don't like the product, you can just ignore it. A game is not like food or other necessities. Not play this game does not cause any degradation in our life whatsoever (well, except if you are a pro).

For people who love the game and complaining that the game has degraded in term of quality due to not focus on the core mode (well, the card game), I would say it is more complicated than that. Yes, the current meta kills any control decks, but in term of diversity it is definitely not too bad. Sometimes you have to be in the shoes of the people who create the game. You have to deliver 3 patches of release every year, and each of them must have special flavour. How can any teams achieve that without breaking things? Also, their internal testers can't be compare with the massive amount of players while many of them are either pros or very innovative in term of exploiting combos. With the range of few thousand cards in Standard and tens of thousand cards in Wild, it is impossible for any teams to play test everything before releasing. I can see that they release changes much more frequently in comparison to years before, which is a very good move to cope with the complicated meta. Yes, not everything they changed is good, but who is perfect? Also, since Mercenaries has its own monetary system, thus it is very likely to be manage by a different team. Then the losing of focus on the main card game seems to be just a speculation.

And we also have complains regarding gold to be used in Mercenaries, which in turn forcing us to spend on Mercenary and having less for buying packs. Though the logic is correct, but the critics seem quite weird to me. If you don't like the mode then don't spend gold. If you like the mode, is it natural to pay something to the developers? In opinion, expecting something free with good quality is the definition of "cash grab" that everyone keeps using. I find that the shared resource between mode helps you to play the game more casual. Also, since Mercenaries uses gold, may be there will be plans to help players to get more gold (just speculating)? Hs nowadays gives you much more gold than when it was first release (yes, I understand the problem of "double" legendaries). But the cost of building a deck does not increase as much. Building an aggro deck is just marginally more expensive than before. If you want more decks or more diversified playstyles, you can play arena which has been the main mode for farming for ages, or just pay! Use amazon coin and buy the pre-purchase bundles (not the mega one) or bundles with legendaries (usually appear a bit after each expansion release). In overall, they have good values if you have cash to spare. But I must stress that Hs can be played for free, albeit quite challenging for new F2P players.

My last note is that creating a good product is hard no matter what it is. I still find Hs fun and very casual even though I played from the second released many years ago. I did stop playing it occasionally when I found the meta is bored or got busy with works. I play rank just to complete quest (climbing ladders are too stressful for enjoying the game, especially for rng involved),  or  play duels as a mean to use old cards and use crazy combos. I do not play battleground as one game is a bit too long for my own flexibility. But I know many people like it. Now we have a new mode coming, which looks actually okay in the teaser despite all the hate. Hs has evolved from just a card game to kind of a game hub. I see nothing wrong with it. In the old time, people played customed modes in Warcraft all the time. I know that it is always very easy to criticize and it sometimes even feel good as it kind of expressing our power over some matter. But it is toxic without trying to think about the positivity or the difficulty the people in charged has to overcome. Just try the mode, if it is not for you, skip it. If you just hate Blizz, then stop using Blizz products. Then you don't have to hold all the rage for just a trivial game. There are things much more important than this game or Blizz.

     1. The meta is problematic, many people don't like it and the powerlevel overall is really high. They could be using all those resources into constructed. Also people are mad cause all the negligence from the devs. They'd much rather push their giga whale game mode instead of making any nerfs that make sense.

    2. It's probably going to be impossible to keep up with both constructed and mercenaries unless you're a giga whale. You have to buy packs for mercernaries and spend gold in your village/town/whatever is called. People are mad cause you are probably going to have to choose between mercenaries or constructed formats cause they required high amounts of the same resources. And no, don't tell me that 'we don't know how much it'll cost', that's bullshit, does releasing 3 different pre-purchease bundles doesn't tell you that you'll realistically need a lot packs and heroes?

    3. No one is questioning if Mercernaries will be good or not, at least no one with half a brain cell. The issue is all in the economy. Is the game gonna be fun? Yeah probably. Is it gonna be good and entertaining? For sure, Hearthstone in general is pretty addictive, but that's not the issue, so it makes no sense that you're mentioning it tbh.

posted a message on Is inevitability a good thing?

All games need inevitabilty. All good decks need it as well. The reason for Shaman being so bad for such a long time was in part their lack for inevitability, they couldn't close games (that and the fact they lacked draw). But starting last mini expansion they got both draw and ways to end the game and immediatly became tier 1. If decks didn't have inevitabilty then all games would be 20 minutes long and would all go downto fatigue. So no, inevitabilty is not the problem, it's necessary, the problem with the current meta is that literally every meta deck right now has inevitability starting on turn 5 or 6. Just look at them:

Warlock can either kill you with self damage or by sticking big bodies and then double windfuring your ass. Shaman either kills you with double spells or with a doomhammer to the face for a million damage. Mage goes turbo nuts with burn spells. Hunter, Priest and Druid are all hyper aggro that can literally win as soon as turn 4 with ok hands, nothing nuts. DH can either fill the board with brutes or hit your face for +15 damage or both. Rogue can kill you in one turn if you fail to do the same and they can do it all from hand requiring minimal set up, but garrote rogue is actually one of the slower decks. And then warrior, which doesn't have good inevitabilty and doesn't see play, cause silas combo is way too slow, the juggernaut is way too slow and a lot of decks don't play too many minions so rush is also not very good.

posted a message on Where are the warlock nerf updates??

They're out, Stealer to 6 mana and Giant to 10 mana. D6 is probably death unless the meta somehow slows down (hint: it won't) and Handlock is still the best deck in the game (standard) and the giant nerf slows it just a little bit but it's still very powerful.

posted a message on For those who want Warlock Questline changed/reworked, how would you do it?

You guys don't realize that Warlock is problematic in such a wide variety of angles than fixing the quest will do nothing. Quest Handlock is the best warlock deck available as it doesn't just straight up lose to aggro and it still shits on slow decks. And guess what? You barely even care about quest completion with that deck and you mainly run the quest for the step 1 and 2 rewards as they make your giants cheaper. But if the quest gets nerfed you can just start running rods and the deck is pretty much the same. So yeah, keep crying about stealer and darkglare and the quest and then you'll still have another reason to complain cause warlock won't go anywhere.

posted a message on When will standard rotate?

End of March/ Beginning of April 2022 and Outland, Scholomance, Darkmoon Faire (and races) will rotate and we'll also get a brand new core set, but that last one is obviously free.

posted a message on It's only a flesh wound

You are all wrong. Flesh Giant is not the issue... But fixing Stealer of Souls won't change much either. Like yes Stealer allows you to cheese a lot of shit but there are a lot of decks that don't play stealer and they still complete the quest fast and have very strong turns. I've seen questlock running the mill package and it's insane, running the handlock stuff and it's stil insane, zoo with and without stealer adn they're all good decks. So yeah they can nerf Stealer, completely delete it from the game but there are still other ways to build the deck by adding other small packages which effectively keep the archetype as a whole busted.

posted a message on Anyone miss control decks?

I mean, I don't particularly miss control but I definitely don't like the fact that it's completely impossible to play control right now. I don't like r dislike control decks, they're whatever to me, I like some and I dislike some but I think overall it's unhealthy to not be able to play a control deck cause mage and warlock will just eventually kill you no matter what. The only one good thing is that Control Priest is gone, cause fuck all that random bs.

posted a message on Handbuff paladin, quest rogue

I think pally is still fine but now you really rely on getting at least one bannerman on curve and go full tempo every turn or you fall behind and it's straight up harder to come back. I haven't played much rogue but it seems like it's mostly the same. You beat warlock still unless they nut you with stealer in which case you probably lose hard (everything does at that point tbh) and your finisher is still just scabbs + stealth into battlemaster next turn so that doesn't make a huge difference anyways.

Face hunter and Elemental Shaman with Doomhammer are both terrible match-ups for Quest Warlock, they aren't unwinnable but they are very difficult, like 70-30s

posted a message on Stop overreacting about the meta

There are too many comments to answer them on by one (I'm the OP) so I'll just give general comments regarding everything I've read:

    • No, I'm not salty about people disliking the meta, I literally couldn't care less. I just find funny how pretty much every single person that suggested that I'm salty and I don't want my 'broken meta nerfed is indeed very salty themselves.
    • I don't love this meta because I'm playing Warlock/Mage/DH. I just find the meta fun, I just jump from deck to deck and try and play everything. If I had to choose a favorite deck for the expansion up until to this point it has to be Quest Rogue but I guess everyone that's salty will also have a problem with that deck.
    • I based my post on data. For example Vicious Syndicate saying there's no outlier deck that is dominating the meta. I'm not saying we don't need nerfs and that the meta is great but a lot of people play 10 games and get salty and stop being objective at that point.
    • I love how a lot of people were like 'oh your so entitled to your opinion we can all have different opinions... but this meta is shit, the worst one ever'. Ok so you can all have your opinion but if I think the meta is fine and even fun then I'm wrong cause you don't think the same, ok.
    • As I said, the issue is not that there are a lot of OTK decks, I think the issue is that the meta is too fast. People are complaining about OTK deck but those kind of decks are also necessary. The issue is that wheter you play an OTK deck or an Aggro deck, playing something that costs more than 5 mana is usually a dead card in your hand.
    • And yes this post is effectively about Standard only, I don't play Wild, I don't care about wild and I know that format is just a consistent shitshow, I'm sorry for all you Wild players but I indeed wasn't considering that format at all cause I don't play it at all.

posted a message on Stop overreacting about the meta

There's a lot of people going crazy saying this expansion just killed HS and that it's all solitaire and OTKs now but seriously just chill, the expansion hasn't been out for even a week, people are trying new stuff, a lot of bad stuff. Once people realize that a lot of old decks are  still good and that those decks do pretty well against this new "monsters" then they'll stop complaining.

Face Hunter is still good, Rush Warrior is still good, Deathrattle DH is still good, Elemental Shaman is still good and all those decks are great against all the OTK decks that you keep complaining about. The only reason the OTK decks are running rampant is because everyone is either playing bad decks or playing those same decks and at the end of the day most mirrors are decided on draws.

If you're going to worry about something then it should be the fact that getting to turn 7-8 is very hard now with all the OTKs and aggro, that's a more realistic issue and honestly not even really. Once people realize aggro decks shit all this combo decks running around then combo decks will lose winrate and aggro will rise and then tempo/mid-range decks will farm those and there will also be control with healing and/or lots of board clears and then combo decks will farm those slower strategies.

I'm not saying there aren't some cards that need some tuning in the form of nerfs (and hopely buffs as well) but please calm down, the meta is not ruined, the game is fine, it'll stabilize in a couple more days, people are just trying the new stuff and you are also just probably playing a bad deck or you have a bunch of bad cards in a good archetype. Also people are sleeping on Aggro Shadow Priest, that deck is good, is pretty much Face Hunter levels of fast, that deck is no meme.

posted a message on Shadow Priest is the best aggro deck in the game - change my mind

This deck is on Face Hunter levels of fast tbh, after playing a couple games you realize that if you go face every turn then you just kill the opponent on turn 5 or 6. Everyone is sleeping on this deck cause they just think shadow priest is a meme. Control shadow priest is and it's a terrible deck, but aggro shadowpriest is good.
