posted a message on Feedback on Play Modes from re-re-re-returning open beta player

I like your idea but it would have to be a whole separate game mode for it to work. There's people that are too into wild and they'd get mad that basically a large portion of their collection and favorite cards are locked for a period of time. But yeah, wild is supposed to be about playing your "old favorite decks" but in reality that doesn't work, you can't play old decks. The decks are mostly the same every single expansion and then they get updated with the good cards printed with each new set. Like I don't play a lot of wild but I'm aware of the meta, or the meta pre expansion cause I haven't played a single wild game since Barrens launched but I'm pretty sure there's still some form of Darkglare Warlock, Reno Priest is still there, CtA Paladin has to still be strong, Secret Mage is still ridiculous probably, then some form of Kingsbane rogue to punish greedy stuff and then the other stuff that has been on the format forever, like Renolock, Token Druid, Pirate Warrior. I think at the very best there is maybe like one new archetype per expansion (for all classes) and it's not like it's a good meta deck upon arrival. That's the reason I don't like playing Wild that much, it's honestly the exact same decks from 1,2,3 years ago with minimal changes.

posted a message on Thank the Lord for Classic format in these trying times!

That's exactly how I feel. I can't see myself just becoming a Classic main but it does feel great to be able to jump into something other than BGs when the meta is such a shitshow.

posted a message on Are people afraid to play something other then meta?

It has nothing to do with "being afraid". Decks are meta for a reason, meta decks are good, and people want to win. And well both Mage and Paladin are superior to everything else, the only other deck that can compete with those 2 is Rogue. It's only natural than 9 of of 10 times you're gonna play those 3 decks, specially the higher you climb.

posted a message on What do you think about Pen Flinger

I think the card allowed some classes and decks with no win-condition to have one but it's definitely a little too spammable. Like there are some games where Paladin or Rogue get the pen flingers too early and there's nothing you can do to stop them from rolling you over in  very few turns. Also the fact that's so disgustingly annoying doesn't help, whenever I see the first pen flinger come down I just mute my HS, I can't stand listening to "HEY LOSER... WaSn'T mE" 30 times before I die.

Yeah if you play like at least an hour or so every day you should at least get enough gold get like 30-40 packs and then you also have some extra packs on the rewards track + all the cosmetics. The battle pass is actually great value just for the amount of extra gold you get.

     30-40 packs? How?

Well I didn't have the pass last expansion and based on how much gold I hoarded by the end, if I got 15%-20% more exp that would mean around like 25-35 packs, it obviously depends on how much you play, so it could be more gold or less, but I don't play insane amounts and as I said, with the pass I could've gotten like around 30 extra packs or 3k gold.

posted a message on What's the most underwhelming card of the set?

I remember during the Ashes of Outland reveal season how everyone was saying that Maiev Shadowsong was gonna be the new Zilliax and that the card was insane and every deck would run it. And well, it turns out that not even highlander decks wanted to run it and she'll probably rotate without ever being actually relevant at all.

I think this time around the Maiev prize has to be for Scabbs Cutterbutter. The card was insanely overhyped, everyone was talking about how rogue would be tier 0 and absolutely unbeatable and guess what? Rogue ended being very good but nowhere near as crazy as people said and Scabbs is seeing close to no play. You can't even find a deck with at least 50% winrate on HSReplay that runs him, Kazakus, Golem Shaper is just a superior card and more interesting for what Rogue wants to do. I'm not saying the card is bad, it isn't, it's infact a very solid card, but it's just funny to me how everyone was going crazy about this guy and he literally is not played in any decent deck across like 2-3 archetypes.

posted a message on About deck of lunacy

I think the bigger picture that most people fail to see is that the card is OP because the amount of spells on each mana cost is the lowest it has been since the card got released which means is actually fairly consistent even with its "random" effect and also the original spells are decent enough to be able to win you the game if you don't find the Deck of Lunacy early on. Biggest problem is that the only 2 10-cost spells in the game are Nagrand Slam and Survival of the Fittest. The 6 mana slot (that's the reason the deck runs a lot of 3 cost spells) is also packed. The real problem is that there are so very few spells rn that you can manipulate your deck and build it in such a way that you can guarantee to hit very powerful spells.

Did you, by anychance reduce the cost of a Libram to 4 lol? I don't know if this could effect it.

This, if any of your librams got reduced to 4 they still count so keep that in mind. Also I'm pretty sure that the 4/3 divine shield rush that reduces your librams is better in that deck.

posted a message on Bug With Queueing For Games - Golden Core Cards To Blame
    Quote from Brads_Gaming >>

Removing all gold cards helps but I still get the bug often. No idea what its related to but I just have to keep clicking play until the game randomly lets me in.

Cause your opponents can also have golden cards in their decks, you not only have to remove all golden Core cards but your opponent needs to do it as well.

    Quote from Nefine1337 >>

    I am confused as well

    I have Thalnos twice

    1x Legendary
    1x Golden Legendary

It says "core" core = for free, i can not disenchant it in core, BUT i can disenchant him in Wild. in Wild I have him 3 times. What happens if I diss him? Will i still have 2 Thalnos?

You have your old Thalnos, then the regular Core Thalnos and then the Golden Core Thalno (for having more than 5k wins across all classes). If you disenchat your copy you won't be able to play Thalnos on Classic mode or on the next years in wild if he's not a part of the Core set of said years.

posted a message on Can I open my Classic packs now?
    Quote from Its9I >>

No. I tried one pack yesterday and didn't get cards from HoF.

How does that prove anything? If you ever got the HoF cards and you dusted them when they rotated they still count as owned. The no duplicate rule is also retroactive which means that you won't open one Classic pack and get stuff like Acolyte of Pain and Spellbreaker guaranteed. Not saying that the HoF are already on the Classic packs again but you shouldn't say the opposite either.

posted a message on Dust refund for non-legendaries?
    Quote from xskarma >>
    Quote from Pr3yn >>

I think it applies to only those cards that are getting a diamond version

Well, even then not all of them, cause Bru'kan is also getting a Diamond version, but no refund.

But yes, the reason Mankrik and Samuro get a refund is cause they are almost instantaneously obtainable from the reward track, which makes it a waste to get them in anything less than Diamond. Hence the dust refund.

I think in Bru'kan case is cause the unlock condition is collecting all legendaries (or at least just 25 overall including the mini set ones, hopefully) which is something not many players get to do so I think Blizzard feels like it's technically just giving a free legendary of their choice to every player, even if you never really come close to unlocking the Diamond Bru'kan. That card is honestly just for the omega whales and I'm sure they don't care about having both Bru'kan and they won't even care about the refund if they got it.

posted a message on Finishing quests before expansion drops

I mean you won't get more than like 7-8k exp by doing all those quests which means that it's like 5 more levels at best or 250g or 2 packs so if 2 packs is worth to you then go ahead. For me the answer is obvious, saving today's and tomorrow's daily (and then doing all 3 on Tuesday) and saving the weeklies is the way to go, 2 extra packs is not worth honestly, I much rather get that strong start cause as you said with that amount of exp you can get immediatly to level like 25 and then if you got the pass (I'm gonna buy it, it's 100% worth it) then you can easily get to like level 30 I'd say.

posted a message on Classic is actually better than Standard and Wild

I mean it's fun but the problem is that it'll stay fun for a couple more days and that's it. The meta is figured out, it has been figured out for 7 years and the good and best decks won't change, maybe they'll get very slightly refined (and i mean like 1 card out 1 card in) and there's nothing more to the format. I think it's a format you'll play from time to time when you get burned from whatever your main format is but in reality the format is just stale from the very beginning. Every class has realistically just 1 deck that works and then Warlock has 2 in Handlock and Zoo. You can try your "interesting" homebrew but it'll just get slapped by the meta decks. The problem is that the meta will never feel refreshing, the meta is what we have now and won't change and at least for me that's an issue.
