This could work in a Deathrattle Priest deck though, as a extra win-condition as the deck sorely lacks in that area. It has however, little to no problems staying alive. All you'd need in such a deck for it to work would be; Mecha'thun, Gilded Gargoyle, Shadow Word: Death and Twilight's Call.
Simply play the Gilded Gargoyle as a means to progress your quest, when at least one have died, resummon it with any effect or with something like Twilight's Call. Then gain three The Coin from those and save them until you can play Mecha'thun. When you run out of cards and hand, and basically anything as the card says play;

Would be cool if it read; "Gain +2/+2 for each Mech you've played this game". Or anything along those lines.

Can we talk about the fact that this is a (7) Mana 4/4? It's reverse. People hated a (4) Mana 7/7 and now they get to hate it the other way around.

This wouldn't work as Assassinate can only be used to destroy enemy creatures, not friendly.
