posted a message on Custom Expansion- Knights Of The Realm Thread 2.3 (4 New Cards!)

    Knights of the Realm
    Expansion woohoo

    The lands are in chaos...
Nations at war demand retribution. Once called legends, now vile criminals. Chaos has struck. The furious battle against the nine classes has begun, and only one will be victorious. The strongest swordsmen have come to the task, and display their new colors so all others quiver in their chainmail. A war is here, and armies are rampaging. Only one shall survive.
    Will it be you?

    Expansion Information

My expansion that I will be working on for some time is called Knights of the Realm! I've been thinking about this for awhile, and decided it's finally time to start my first custom expansion, so please I Hope you continue reading.

Knights of the Realm is an expansion that introduces many chivalrous new minions and brave new combatants that are, well knights!

    The Golden Warrior:

The hero portrait you get with Pre-order. Famous knight, known for never revealing his true identity has joined the fight in Hearthstone as a customizable hero of the warrior class.

    So...whats in the set?

Included in Knights of the Realm are:

    135 cards
    45 Neutral cards
    10 cards per class

    The substantial amount, however,
the class cards is a little different Scroll Below to Find out.

Also this class includes two new keywords which are...

    Keywords:

    Parry
A Unique (that also is popular in swordsmanship terminology) technique that requires a number from the minion, like Overload, and performs an action. Minions with parry will take X less damage when getting attacked or attacking minions or heroes.

    Justice
Justice, which is a usual word tied with knights, is more chivalrous, such as making the minion stronger against those who've killed his allies. They deal X more damage against minions that have destroyed friendly minions, which requires planning when to use it, or even who to kill what with.

Both keywords play into each other, one is used for defense and the other offense, which I think really fits into the theme of the set.
    Now the most important part....

    New Cards:

I will show off a few new cards today, seeing how it is the first day of my expansion.

Firstly, here are some examples of the previous mechanics, Parry and Justice:

    Vengeful Knight:
A Simple one drop that showcases the Justice mechanic, for example, it would deal 3 damage instead of 1 against a minion that has already killed a friendly minion.
    Mega Knight:
Mega Knight is a defensive minion that takes 1 less damage against other minions. Since it has taunt, minions must target it, it preserves itself on board even more for sustaining less damage than necessary.

Secondly, each class in this set will have a different Weapon. Since this is Knighthood in all, it seems fit to give every class a new weapon to use. For example, the shaman weapon...

    Boosted Mace:
A Mace that gains an upgrade with Overload. In exchange for its higher cost, weaker attack and lower durability it gets a remarkable ability that can preserve it for many more rounds than just 3.

Spells, don't appear as often as minions in this class, however, they are just as important. For example, the Druid spell...

    Come Little Ones
A simple draw card, they appear often in druid, however similar to Raiding Party, it draws the race Beasts instead of normal minions, which helps because it thins down the draw amount if your looking for a certain card.

Now the legendaries, in this expansion, each class will get two legendaries. One minion legendary and one Hero. For example,

    Bors, The Holy Knight
An angel from the heavens, here to fight for the priest class! Bors hold tremendous capabilities. In the case that your hero is under 5 health, you can fully regenerate, completely annihilating your opponent's plans. Even then, his stats are impressive, well enough to put up a fight against others.

    Theria, Beast Rider
Beast tamer from the wildlands, said to be able to speak to all animals and control them at will. Theria is a major card for beast decks, considering that her hero power gives beasts 2+/2+. Similar to dinomancy, except you also get two animal companions with her being played.

    IN conclusion:
    All class sets will have:
    2 commons
    2 rares
    2 epics
    2 legendaries

    Which will consist of:
    3 spells
    4 minions
    1 weapon
    1 legendary minion
    1 hero portrait

posted a message on TRIALS AND ERRORS (Class Creation Competition #5) - Phase II [Submission Topic]

    Sea Creatures

    Hero Face and Power

    Brief Description:

My theme of the class is all Ocean/Sea based (Not just Sea animals.) Featuring Mermaid Fionalle Aqua as the main Hero. Her Hero Power, Sea Song, gives minions a boost in stats on board. If you want more detail, please scroll to the bottom for a link to my Phase I post.

    Keyword

    Brief Description:

Aqualocation uses board advantage to its benefit, using a strategic timing on when to play who at what point in the game, However it won't be featured in this Phase. (for obvious reasons.) More information in my link below.

    Basic Card Examples:

    Explanations:

Whirlpool: Very similar to Warlock's Twisting Nether , however, it comes with just playing the class. I think it's necessary to make this a free card since the lack of AoE spells in the class itself.
Flavor Text: It's like a highspeed Merry Go Round.

New Shore: A cool mechanic that helps keep Sea Creatures stabilized, by keeping your board strong. This works into Sea Creatures because it shows off the classes ability to buff other minions, and keep board presence there.
Flavor Text: Captain, I think we've might've gone in a circle...

Ocean Runner: Brings back the charge mechanic, in a way where it isn't crazy overpowered but can still do a reasonable amount of damage. (It isn't a battlecry, his attack changes depending on how many minions are on the board while it is still alive. If there are 3 minions when it's played, it'll be a 3/6 if there are 5 minions on your next turn, it'll be a 5/6.)
Flavor Text: Run like the waves, Nyeh like the jetskis.

Hearty Trumpet: Very simple, but shows the classes healing mechanics and it's recovery ability.
Flavor Text: Incredibly good at playing the trumpet, but no one knows how she made her seashell into one.

Crabapocalypse: Demonstrates the minion presence mechanic, and how the class is good at spawning minions. Even though the total value is 8/8 for 6 mana, it takes board space and 2/2's aren't to hard to clear, so it evens out.
Flavor Text: Like zombies, except they have claws. Very sharp claws.

    Remaining Cards

    Flavor Text:
Crashing Waves: Just when you sank, you get sunked.
Hidden Treasure: Yarrharr! There be a fortune mateys!
Octopus Mayhem: Octokid is going through many changes right now.
Pirate Parade : The Yo to my Ho.
Sir Finless: He adopted this name from the fact that he never takes his hat off.

    Sea Creature

Take your hearts to the ocean, swim to survive!

    Her Story

The main class hero, Fionalle Aqua (Fi-own-all-ay) is daughter of the esteemed Thundorian Aqua, a famous protector of the sea and king of her home, The Coral City. She comes from a race of Water druids called Merpeople, amphibians that look awfully like humans. Fionalle is known for her great leadership skills, and restoration magic. As the next heir to the throne, she must embark on a journey against other foes to prove she is worthy of the title Ruler.

    Hero Power

Sea Song is a very simple hero power, but yet one we haven't seen. Giving a minion stat buffs has shown up a lot, however there were no hero powers that directly affected stats.

    Class Advantages/Disadvantages:

    Advantages:

Minion Buff: This class has alot of tools and mechanics that you can use to buff minions ( As you can see in the Class and Hero Power. )
Healing: This class is good at restoring health to the hero and minions, since Fionalle is a druid after all.
Board Advantage: This Class has alot of minons and cards that help it keep presence on the board. All that thing about Schools of Fishes.

    Disadvantages:

Card Draw: Drawing isn't an especially strong part of this class, however it makes up for it's controlling abilities.
Hero Altering: This class doesn't really have a way to give a hero attack or armor, meaning lack of weapons.
AoE Spells: Not a mutlitude of AoE Spells, however makes up for it with certain cards.

    Class Power: Aqualocation

By abilities, I mean the text on other minions with Aqualocation. Of course, minions with Aqualocation will have lower stats than average, but it makes up for it with the helping hands. I feel this is a good class because multitudes of ocean creatures help each other out, and use each other to survive, which fits with the class theme of Sea Creatures.

(Edit: Disregard Amphibiloc's "give", his ability works exactly like Raid Leader , and A Mermaid's Symphony is Rare class.)

    Aqualocation Minions:

Both of these minions have Aqualocation, which means lets say we had one of each on the board. the Sea Eater would gain the, " Give your other minions +1 attack. " of the Amphibiloc , and in return that card would gain the Taunt of the Sea Eater.

    Other Cards:

    Card Descriptions:

Amphibiloc: Your average, card that uses the class power card, but none the less useful. Your Raid Leader that cost slightly more from the Aqualocation. Also a Murloc, which is important since they are technically Amphibians that are sea creatures.
Flavor Text: He shares his strength, but never his food.

Sea Eater: A early game taunt minion that can give other cards the ability with its Aqualocation, a good semi stall and useful to create control on the board.
Flavor Text: It would grab your dangling leg off the bed. If it could leave water.

A Mermaid's Symphony: A simple mechanic that shows the classes buffing abilities and restoration, being able to potentially heal a large amount later in the game, or buffing your minions earlier. It's incredibly flexible, being able to be used at almost any point of the game.
Flavor Text: Some say you only hear a Mermaid's Song once in your life. Clearly no one thought about the mermaid.

Captain! It's Going Down!: Also shows off this class stat buffing abilties, however it also shows how it can control the board, being similar to a Doomsayer. I believe it cancels out having to wait for your opponents turn and the buffs, since it creates some durability, but gives your opponent a chance to react.
Flavor Text: Give me a second captain, it's Control Warrior.

Captain William Wavespeaker: I thought this name was really cool. Also it really demonstrates the power of Aqualocation, for example if you had an Amphibiloc on the board, and just two other minions, that makes all of your other minions have +3 attack. However, he doesn't get buffed himself which makes him a big target for spells, which I think makes for a reasonable trade off.
Flavor Text: No one alive has ever seen this man with a shirt on .

Thanks for the support! Maybe if I get Gonk I'll TRY and make him work but I don't see him being used in a meta deck for awhile lol

posted a message on My Rastakhan Rumble Review That No One Cares About- Hunter

Next class I'm reviewing is hunter, which got some pretty decent stuff honestly. It's clear blizzard is pushing the beast hunter decks with these new cards, and lets just get into it. Cards will go from lowest to highest mana cost.

    1= Terrible 2= Bad 3= Good 4= Great 5= Amazing

Springpaw Rating: 4/5: Honestly this card is really good and it fits in most hunter decks, besides of course your spell hunter. It's just a really good 1 drop, easy board clear, and a good token. It also helps complete The Marsh Queen. It's just overall a great card that'll probably see a good amount of play.

The Beast Within Rating: 2/5: This card is alright for a 1 mana give a minion +1/+1, honestly the reward isn't that much but rather the fact that you attack again which could lead to some nice combos. I don't think this card will be included honestly, but I can see you playing it too get that "Windfury" effect.

Revenge of the Wild Rating: 2.5/5: Now this card can lead with some crazy combos, such as Halazzi, the Lynx token, however I feel like if people really want that great value of reviving like 3-4 beasts it's just difficult to obtain and honestly I see this much more as a maybe restoring health to a big beast that's almost dead rather than a whole board clear.

Headhunter's Hatchet Rating: 3/5: A good weapon for beast hunter, works really well with Springpaw, However, in my opinion, it's not better than Candleshot or Eaglehorn Bow. Now you can play all three weapons if you really want, but if per say you have cards of better value I'd suggest go with them instead of trying to squeeze in this third weapon, it's not bad though and I can see it getting played a bit.

Spirit of the Lynx Rating: 3/5: Really fits well into beast hunter, works well with your Unless the hounds or Greater Emerald Spellstone, and even works with Reveng of the Wild. However, I do think the cost is slightly high and I think that maybe if it was lowered to two mana it would be played alot more. Also there's the fact that you need to actually fill conditions for cards, and the odds of you actually getting a big board boost.

Bloodscalp Strategist Rating: 3.5/5: Hunter is one of the classes with a few meta weapons, and with the inclusion of the new Headhunter's Hatchet I think this card can be really efficient for 3 mana. The thing is it doesn't really work in beast hunter, because you wouldn't want to have any other minions besides beasts in the deck, but it works pretty well in almost every other hunter deck.

Master's Call Rating: 5/5: This card is amazing in my opinion. It gave hunter what it needed, card draw, and it's actually one of the main reasons I believe beast hunter will work. For only 3 mana you draw 3 cards that are beasts, which combo well with your Oondasta or Dire Frenzy, There isn't alot of things bad about this card, maybe the odds of you not discovering a beast and only drawing one card, but honestly a 3 mana draw a beast isn't all that bad considering all the synergy you get being in hunter class.

Halazzi, the Lynx Rating: 2/5: Honestly I feel like it's overhyped and I know people are saying "Oh but you can complete The Marsh Queen in one turn or Toxmonger for board clear, but honestly by turn 5 you'll want to be playing your Queen Carnassa, and a Toxmonger + board clear can't really give you much value until maybe turn 7 or 8, assuming you play it on turn 5. Really this is just a late game card that doesn't really help the late game, other than your hand will be overfilled and you can get a few board clears, which mostly won't really affect the game.

Baited Arrow Rating: 1/5: Bad card. Moving on.

But for real, I honestly think this card was printed just to show that "oh look, Overkill gives you big advantages use overkill" But really is just a horrible card on its on. Plus a devilsaur isn't that hard to deal with if you play this on any turn that isn't turn 6 or below.

    Zul'jin Rating: 999999/5: YOGG-SARON HOPE'S END YOUTUBE HIGHLIGHTS

Real rating: 3.5/5: Clearly not as good as DK rexxar, but honestly the DK cards were really overpowered and I don't think it would be far to compare it to them, but anyways, It's a really good finisher, can end up with you having a full board like 5 secrets maybe even a victory at maximum value, and I can see it fitting well into Secrets or Spell Hunter. The hero power isn't grea, however, and I think it'll need a small buff, like deal 3 damage instead of 2.

RATING FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST SCROLLED TO THE BOTTOM:
    Springpaw Rating: 4/5
    The Beast Within Rating: 2/5
Revenge of the Wild Rating: 2.5/5
    Headhunter's Hatchet Rating: 3/5
Spirit of the Lynx Rating: 3/5
    Bloodscalp Strategist Rating: 3.5/5
    Master's Call Rating: 5/5
    Halazzi, the Lynx Rating: 2/5
    Zul'jin Rating: 999999/5

    Overall:

I think hunter really benefitted from this set, and I can't wait to see what hunter decks people come up with. I'll definitely be trying a beast hunter deck when the expansion comes out. However, I'll have to admit the Loa is slightly disappointing, but honestly, that's ok with me. I'm glad hunter got some recognition this year, didn't see much play overall since the start of Year of the Raven, really only spell hunter, secrets hunter and deathrattle hunter which I didn't see too much in standard ladder.
