posted a message on New Card Reveals - Malchezaar's Imp & Babbling Book

I feel like people are underrating the Imp of Malchezaar. You'll most likely see it in some sort of hyper-aggressive Zoo deck where you don't really care which cards you discard, and It essentially negates the drawback of even discarding something (while also thinning your deck in the process, getting you closer to your finishers - if there are any).

With low-cost Warlock cards that discard something and leave a big impact when you play them (SoulfireDoomguard, you can even follow this up on turn 2 with Darkshire Librarian), and if you manage to build a Zoo deck around it that doesn't suffer too much if you don't draw it early, this card could be insanely good.

Also worth mentioning that it's another sturdy 1-Cost Demon you can run alongside your Voidwalkers and Flame Imps which, interestingly enough, might even make Demonfire finally playable. Since you now have the three 1-Cost Demons, you can get a turn 2 Demonfire pretty reliably, followed up by Imp Gang Boss on turn 3 - and it might become even better if Warlocks happen to get more early-game Demons.

So how good is this thing, really? Will this card be good enough to sprout new archetypes? Or will this simply be a bland 1-Mana 1/3 that will only be seen in normal Zoo just because of its stats? It certainly has A LOT of potential, and I will definitely be experimenting with this card when it comes out.

The terrifyingly quite Raving Grimoire is an interesting take on the Webspinner for Mages. Reno decks will absolutely love this card, and other slower Mage lists that can afford running Cabalist's Tome might start running this as well. The only deck this might not be good enough for is a faster version of Tempo Mage - not only do you already have Mana Wyrm as your 1-Drop of choice (and getting early advantage is much better for that deck than having a slightly better late-game), but the Mage spells you can get from this could sometimes be completely irrelevant (something too specific, or something that costs too much).

Definitely a neat little card, but not something too exciting. As I said, if you can afford running Cabalist's Tome or even Spellslinger, you will most likely find a spot in your deck to fit this card in.

posted a message on New Warrior Card Reveal - Ravaging Ghoul, Druid Card - Mire Keeper, Shaman Weapon - Hammer of Twilight

Ravaging Ghoul is an excellent card against Paladins and rush decks in general. Won't see much play in Patron Warrior since it costs a bit too much for its effect + you can't combo it preemptively like you could with Unstable Ghoul or Death's Bite.

Keeper of the Swamp's second form is AMAZING in Ramp Druid - and it's a proactive 4-drop which Druids were always lacking. Piloted Shredder is probably still better in midrange if you're playing Wild, but this guy is definitely a powerhouse if you're playing a Ramp/Control deck. Now you can Wild Growth on turn 2, play this on 3, Emperor Thaurissan on 4 and start rolling your big guys out without even the need to use Innervate.

Good card reveals today, once again. Really excited to see the Evil Teapot or Cho'Gall next!

posted a message on New Priest Card Reveal - Shadow Word: Horror, Druid Reveal - Mark of Y'Shaarj

Mark of Y'Shaarj will definitely be the Power Word: Shield of Beast Druid decks. Probably an auto-include for that archetype, and it's almost enough to push it to the point of being actually viable - I just hope they add more playable cards that work with Beasts, so that Beast Druid can finally become a real thing (maybe not in Wild, but at least in Standard).

Shadow Word: Horror seems weird and underwhelming.  It's designed to work against aggressive decks, but it doesn't actually deal with a lot of things that aggro decks throw at you (since most of their minions have deathrattle or have  at least 3 Attack). I'd rather run Shadow Madness or Excavated Evil over this instead - they're s not as restricted, are a lot more reliable, you can get more value out of them and they're not as terrible later in the game.

posted a message on New Card Reveal - Cult Apothecary, Ben Brode on Ragnaros, Lightlord, Popular Constructed Decks of the Week

Well, at least this new Mukla isn't as bad as The Boogeymonster... So there's that.

Decks that can utilize Toshley will definitely have a place for this card. But it really should've been a rare, or at least an epic - don't see why they decided that an effect like that is worthy of a legendary card.

Not much to say about this card, really. Better than Antique Healbot if you're behind, terrible once you've gained board control but still want to restore your health back to get out of death/combo range.

Really good against Zoo, Paladins, Hunters, and token decks. Bad against midrange and terrible against burn decks. Will definitely see play in Standard (and possibly Wild) if the meta becomes infested with aggro decks, but overall, Healbot still remains a much better and a much more reliable choice overall (well, at least in Wild).

Voted for the flying spaghetti monster (which should be a neutral card? Hopefully?), but that Water Ascendant (possibly an Epic Mage card?) looks dope as hell.

Other options are not so flashy, though. And also, what the hell is that thing on the left?

Well it's not necessarily power creep, since this does cost 10 mana instead of 8... Though I'm really not sure why this is a Warlock card, people already don't run two copies of the Nether, so why bother printing yet another one?

posted a message on New Legendary Priest Card Reveal - Herald Volazj, Most Popular Decks of the Week, This Week in Hearthstone

I guess the main question everyone's asking about Herald Volazj is "Will this be playable in a deathrattle Priest deck?". Because that's the only reasonable archetype where you can justify playing this on turn 6, really.

The main problem with this card is that it's really, really slow. A 6-drop that requires you to have board control by turn 6 and is also terrible if you're behind are the two main reason why I think this card is not as good as it looks - and even then, if you do manage to have minions by turn 6, then you're probably already winning and don't even need this card at all.

If you want this to become as good as Piloted Sky Golem, you'll have to copy at least 2 of your deathrattle minions (with reasonable deathrattles that matter at that point in the game) - but if you have no minions, then this card becomes a useless 6-mana 5/5. You'll have to have 3 sticky minions out when you play this thing (something like Nerubian Egg, Haunted Creeper, and a Feugen/Sludge Belcher/Piloted Shredder, which is the best case scenario) if you want this to become better than a Piloted Sky Golem. And in that case, why not just run a Piloted Sky Golem for guaranteed value instead?

(not to mention it will only be playable in Wild, since most good deathrattle minions are rotating out of Standard)

There's also the Ysera/Ragnaros the Firelord/Prophet Velen synergy which is cute and all, but ultimately it's not worth teching this in any existing decks since most of your other cards can't support it.

Overall I'd say this just a "win more" card (similar to Enhance-o Mechano). Potentially good and potentially really annoying to deal with in deathrattle decks, but relatively bad in pretty much anything else.

And Infested Tauren is just downright horrible. I don't even know why they felt the need to print this card - the 2/2 Slime doesn't even have taunt for it to matter. A terrible waste of card space.

You don't need a subscription to earn Liadrin. Just get any character from level 19 to level 20, and that can be done even in the trial version.

posted a message on New Mage & Priest Card Reveals - Forbidden Flame, Forbidden Shaping; New Feature: Search Tags

    - Forbidden Flame is fairly mediocre, but could be alright. if it dealt 1 extra starting damage (so 5 mana = 6 damage, 8 mana = 9 damage etc.) then it would be good. But as it stands it's way too costly and doesn't even kill deathrattle minions... Don't think it'll see much play outside of arena or as a 1-off in some Reno Mage lists.

    - Forbidden Shaping is just bad. If you get a battlecry minion - you're screwed. If you get a minion that requires other cards/abilities to interact with it (like inspire, casting a spell or playing another minion) - you're screwed. If you get a completely vanilla minion (like Ogre Magi, Bloodfen Raptor) -  you're screwed as well. Half the time you're gonna get something that completely sucks, so I'm really not sure if it's even worth playing this card.

Secretkeeper - Make her a 1-mana 1/3 that gains +2 Attack whenever a friendly secret is summoned, so that it can be buffed by Mad Scientist's deathrattle.

I'm assuming that's just sarcasm, right? This card is insane in secret paladin.
I proposed that idea before TGT was even announced (way before Mysterious Challenger was even a thing) - you could've at least checked the date on my post before making your statement.
