How interesting, Demon Hunter's early life nerfs are being used as an actual game mechanic. Like its a true part of the lore now.

Probably the best time to play this card is when you have 7 Mana. Like, topdeck this guy on Turn 7 --> play a 2/2 and deal 2 damage --> Play a 5/5 and gain 5 armor.

Decent board reload, finishes off a minion from the previous turn, stabilize a little with 5 extra HP, and then give you a guaranteed Turn 8 play, or if you draw/are holding something better for Turn 8 then it can still be banked to an even better Turn 10 swing.

Interesting that the Unholy Rune got the least number of dedicated cards. I wonder if the first set of the next year will focus more on Unholy cards like March of the Lich King is focusing on Blood cards.

Hi there! Glad to see you had fun with this deck, I honestly wasn't sure how viable it would be with both Theotar, the Mad Duke and Steam Cleaner available as easy counters, but I guess more people are worried about other archetypes lol.

Hey thanks man! I mainly made this deck as just a test list for myself, but glad to hear the strategy has worked and feels good to use. I actually had a similar experience where people just quit halfway through the games after I disrupted their game plan XD

Kael Thas is included purely for a win condition, where the combination with either Bran or Bolner can double Denathrius' battlecry for lethal. Kael Thas is a dead draw otherwise though, I'll grant you that.

I did want to put Snowfall Guardian in the deck, but I couldn't make room without going over 30 cards, and this deck does not have enough card draw to reliably get the tools you need out of a 40 card deck.

No kidding, this one card completely shuts out Quest Priest. I was having a lot of fun with that deck too, you needed to decide whether to try and play your cards on curve, or intentionally delay your curve to respond to what your opponent is doing. Of all the Quests it was the most interactive, even if the reward was an auto-win card.

Now I'll need to find a new deck :(

Agreed, Hallazeal was my favorite legendary back in the day, when healing cards weren't quite as common. I'd be happy with any of these cards, though I think Kalimos has some conflict of interest with the new Bru'Kan Hero Card.

With how powerful this set is looking though, I think Shudderwock would be a great powerful tool for Shaman to keep up, heck maybe even thrive on standard ladder again. I love Shaman, but goddamn the class is inconstant. They seem to want to want Shaman to win games with Bloodlust now that it's back in the core set, which is all well and good, but I think a control Shaman could also be viable with a late game powerhouse legendary. And again, the combo cards that made Shudderwock infinite are not currently in standard, so it could work.

But it only reveals 40/72 new cards we are getting. And then we have Execute, Equality, and Azure Drake lined in this post, bringing the total to 43/72 cards we know of, so we are still missing quite a bit.

Gotcha! And yeah I was mainly wondering who the new Shaman one would be. I had the thought that they might bring in a buffed 3-mana version of Moorabi, but that would have been mentioned with the other buffed cards I think. It could still be Moorabi, but uuung at his current mana cost that would feel so bad =w=

I could also dream and say they being back Shudderwock :P. He doesn't currently have all the other combo pieces that made him infinite, so it could just be a really good power turn.

Sorry to say, but I'm pretty sure Murozond did not copy Battlecries, so all you will get is the minion body from the Quest reward.

So judging by how one of Mage's new cards is going to be the legendary minion Kalecgos and Warlock is getting High Priestess Jeklik despite neither class losing their current Core Set Legendary, I wonder if that means each class will have 2 Core Set legendaries this time around?  Could those be the "one extra card" each class is getting?

Or do you guys think it will be asymmetrical which classes have 2 legendaries in the Corse Set?

Pretty sure they got rid of that interaction for all Discover effects. You can't discover the same card anymore.

Oh that's so awesome! I'm so happy people are having fun and are inspired by my deck idea^^. Interesting that you added Yogg to the deck, since that potentially delays finding your C'Thun pieces with Capture Coldtooth Mine, but tha definitely gives you some extra power in your back pocket :)

I did actually experiment with Royal Librarian to deal with Paladin, but I found Venomous ScorpidAnimated Broomstick got the job done against those big divine shield minions.

Hi there, thanks so much for all your feedback! I never expected people to like my experiment so much, so I want to try and give this deck the best shot I can. I watched your video and left a comment on my thoughts, but basically I'm going to try a few things to help with the early board state. In particular I'm thinking Animated Broomstick might help when paired with Clawfury Adept and Venomous Scorpid

Amor Vendor and Druid of the Reef are other cards that can help an early board as a 1/3 minion, and still be useful in the later game.

Vibrant Squirrel was another minion initially considered because of the beast tag and how both Capture Coldtooth Mine and Wildheart Guff can potentially draw into the acorns. Buuut he is a terrible card to topdeck on his own, which is why I cut the card initially. Still, with Animated Broomstick he might be better than I thought.

I will hopefully post a more refined version soon!
