posted a message on Fel Reaver Screws Opponent Over So bad
    Quote from Somohexuals »

It seems like it would be most effective against Warriors, and to a lesser extent, Paladins or Druids.

Not sure if Fel Reaver is a wise choice against Paladins. One Humility or "Follow the rules!" and you're screwed.

posted a message on Your biggest surprise and your biggest disappointment after the first week of GvG

Biggest disappointment: Shrinkmeister. 90% of the time I drop him, his effect goes to waste. To use him effectively you need to NOT use him on curve, but then that will mean you need other two-drops to make up for him (or you won't have enough stuff to play on turns 2-3), which would in turn reduce the slots you have for bigger better minions.

Surprise: Unstable Portal. I knew it would be decent but didn't expect to get legendaries 40-50% of the time from it. This card is rigged I tell you.

With no Auchenai + Circle combo and only one Holy Nova and SW:P, this deck gets owned hard by aggro (especially early undertakers).

Seems like there is a slight edge to TBK. Does this depend on which rank you are as well? Are weapons more or less prevalent in the higher ranks?

Because going 7-0 is better than 7-3.

It's like deal or no deal, let's make a deal or a vast amount of other game shows or contest where you look at risk vs reward.

If I quit now I get an ok prize, if I continue and win I get better, but if I continue and lose I get less.

The difference is that Hearthstone is a multiplayer game, not a single-player game show. You are rewarded for playing with other people and trying your best with the deck you have, rather than quitting early.

Why should you be rewarded for quitting?

posted a message on annoy-o-tron ultra

The reason why Annoy-o-Tron is annoying is because it is a two-drop. At that stage your opponent doesn't yet have enough removal (whether spells or minions) to bust through both a divine shield and 2 health, so you don't even need to protect it from spells or hero powers.

It actually becomes less annoying when it becomes a 5-drop since there are so many minions in that region that can trivially take it out in one hit (after pinging away the divine shield with something else).

posted a message on Edween Vancleef Should be "Pirate" type

Well if he were made a pirate he would certainly make Rogue pirate decks a legitimate force to be reckoned with. Currently even with the new cards they are still not quite there yet due to the lack of big minions.

posted a message on Are Cairne, Ysera, etc. bad now?

Pulling off a Shrinkmeister + Cabal combo is harder than you think. Priests tend to lack early game minions so they often have to play Shrinkmeister early without comboing him with anything (or at most reducing an enemy's attack to make a favourable trade). So honestly I don't think you should cut out these cards just because of the possibility of a Shrinkmeister combo.

posted a message on Harrison Jones or The Black Knight?

So, I have reached the stage where I have most of the key legendaries and have the luxury of crafting a more specialised "tech" card. Currently deciding between Harrison Jones or The Black Knight. Which is more useful in the post GvG meta? I'm leaning slightly towards Harrison Jones because destroying a weapon can swing the tempo more than destroying a taunt, and there are various means to neutralize a taunt but relatively few for destroying weapons. On the other hand, not every class has a weapon while every class is virtually bound to have a taunt or two.

    What do you guys think?

posted a message on Why doesn't Fel Reaver cause fatigue damage?

There is no bug. Fatigue damage is only taken when you try to draw a card but have no cards left. Based on the wording of Fel Reaver, there would be no fatigue damage because it only says to "discard" the top 3 cards rather than to "draw and then discard" them.

A good analogy to this is Tracking. It says to "look" at the top three cards of your deck, "draw" one and then "discard" the rest. It has been established that you don't take fatigue damage if you have less than three cards left, because trying to look at your top three cards is not the same as trying to draw those three cards.

    Quote from Frostrush »

The chances of opening a gold of the same legendary u already have are so low, there is a much higher chance of getting a duplicate of a normal legendary than a gold legendary.

So what? The math still doesn't add up as already detailed in the previous post.

If u are going to craft him i suggest crafting him in gold, nothing worse than crafting a legendary and getting him in a pack later on.

This is terrible advice that makes no logical sense at all. If you craft a legendary in gold, you are guaranteed to waste an extra 1600 mana. If you craft a normal legendary and then open him in a pack later, you have wasted only 1200 mana (since you can dust the legendary you opened). This is even before we consider the vanishingly small odds of actually opening the same legendary in a pack (with so many legendaries in GvG chances are low that you will get the exact same legendary you crafted).

posted a message on "You don't need a full collection to be able to "compete at all levels of play", only 30 cards."

There is an in-built catch-up mechanism in Hearthstone - spending cash to buy cards. Just like how in WOW you can spend cash to boost your level 90.

Oh, you meant a free catch-up mechanism? But why should new players be immediately able to compete on the same level of veteran players who have put years of effort into the game?
