BEHOLD, THE GLORY OF A NEW SUN!
The entrance music for Varian Wrynn is also amazing.
Okay, once more for the people in the back,...Zephrys the Great cannot read, he understands keywords and numbers. That's it. He does not think a 0/3 with stealth is a threat, because he does not understand what the long term implications are. Hell, they needed a patch to work against Doomsayer. Yes, he had problems dealing with stealth, and yes, if you float 4 mana instead of 2, he prefers SI:7 Infiltrator to Flare, but it is not his fault. I agree with Alph2760, the attempt, however imperfect is admirable, and they are still adjusting it.
No, they are like C'Thun and you MUST have Galakrond in your hand or deck to activate the invoke.
At 9 mana, this seems hard to make super good use of. It is at least worthy of the Legendary status with the insane value. Perhaps Floop or Joybuzz will make it meta in standard? Who knows with wild, it may be far too slow.
No, stop looking for places to demand dust. This is is incredibly entitled and tedious.
Blizzard has clearly only given out dust for explicit nerfs. Lynessa was a case where the stated intent was different from the actual function, and Blizzard fixed her accordingly which made it a bug fix, not nerf. Tess was explicitly stated to keep casting after death so they fixed (after the erroneous change) her to work they way they said they did. Tag changes and functionality changes (like rule consistency or exploit patching) have never qualified. Why would making cards objectively better count now?
thought I edited this. You people are toxic af.
I'd prefer he go face, it's when he snipes snipes prime board targets you lose. He always kills my X minion giving my opponent huge tempo.
Rag always snipes my board! It must be programmed this way...
Or it could be rng mixed with selective memory.
PS if your low enough that a Rag face hit wins the game, you might already be losing, and it might not have been the Rag causing it.
I have a question.
Did any of you guys complaining about Succubus getting axed ever actually use her in any decks? At all?
I am like one of maybe five people who played Discardlock back when Discardlock was good. And I don't really give a shit that they got rid of succubus. I mean its not like Hearthstone is bereft of sexy ladies. Every expansion on another board I run down the cute nonhuman characters of Hearthstone on another board I frequent.
Also, are you really gonna dust Eviscerate and Deadly shot for full dust even iff offered? Really? Two Staple cards of classic set cause they changed the art (Hell in Eviscerate they barely even changed the art).
I'm sorry, but watching people losing their shit over the fact they aren't gonna have an inch high portrait of a demon lady on their fake cards in their card game any more is the saddest thing ever.
(Also, as long as we are bringing up card censorship, maybe we can do something about Spiteful Smith? Because if any card needs new artwork its that one).
. I remember when Goblins vs Gnomes came out, I was thrilled. There were tons of fresh and new cards. They actually managed to improve the game!
You're defending Goblins vs Gnomes as a good expansion. The expansion that literally only had 2 good legendaries and a tier 3 legendary. The expansion that had abominations like Unstable Portal [/card] and [card]Piloted Shredder. The expansion that further pushed the meta into pure face and set the seeds for Secret paladin later on. You're praising that over metas such as the Old Gods meta.
I REMEMBER watching tournaments back then. I REMEMBER games that were ended because of doomspeakers coming out of shredders, and Dr. Boom's bombs going 8 damage to the face, and F#($)#(*$ Imp-losion.
We cheered for GvG because it was the first time we ever had an expansion. And because we were still new as crap at the game.
That is on top of what others have already brought up: that 'planned obsolescence' is a feature, not a bug. We plan standard specifically BECAUSE we want to be constantly swapping out old cards for new ones. One of the biggest reasons why we hated TGT, Boomsday, and Rumble is because of how little of that very thing occurred. We WANT them to put out new stuff, and for us to buy that stuff every expansion. Otherwise there's many other genres we would be playing instead. Wild players MAY be able to argue about the issue, but if you're in Standard and you're bothered by having to 'keep up with the trend' then you've picked the wrong mode.
Sidenote, the 'Blizzard is nerfing my good deck' outcry is a rather silly argument for a big reason: you visit the forums. Every other #$*)#*( (#)$#)( thread has been about the problems with Rogue since almost as soon as the expansion started. We've been having regular nerf bats after just about every single expansion. How in the world can a person who reads the forums enough to feel bold enough to write here can claim to be blindsided by a nerf to most played and most raged on class, especially given that the very cards they targetted are the most raged on and most proposed for nerfs.
This isn't a surprise. This isn't new. This wasn't out from left field. No one tricked you. The warnings came early and often that this was going to happen. Don't pretend otherwise.
The same goes for the Classic set as a whole. Blizzard flat out said from the beginning of rotations, that their goal is to make the classic set take up a much smaller role in the meta. Everything they've been doing has been putting their money where their mouth is at this point. There's even a rather vocal part of the community screaming to go faster or just flat out gut the whole thing all-together.
Where the @()$#( have you been for the past 5 years?
She is maybe the fairest deck expanding control card ever printed. Sure, control mirrors can be determined by her, but there is skill involved in picking the right discovers and timing her right.
Did anyone mention she is a dead, useless card in every matchup but control mirrors? Pretty strong drawback if you ask me, and a nerf would remove an interresting card (imo) from the game completely.
........you have no idea what a tournament is?
We've been spending the past few posts saying exactly that.
So yes. We do not know what an in game tournament system would actually BE.
In fact, the entire POINT of the original post is offering this question.
Now if you want to go beyond a bumper sticker's explanation of "a tournament goes up, you enter it" then it would be highly welcome.
If you want to keep repeating "it's the dev's jobs." I'll keep repeating "they did do their jobs and said it's not feasible."
So either we provide an example of how it's feasible, with enough agreeing to make a loud enough voice to make the devs notice, accept the dev's findings and let go of it, or we keep repeating the same lines over and over.
I'm ok with any of those three choices.
Years ago, I think during TGT, when I was one of those folks screaming for Tournament mode, I listened to a major Blizzard dev speak on a podcast about it. They said that they knew it was highly desired and wanted to add it in. However, they then realized the difficulty of the above question: What, the @()#) would an actual 'tournament mode' look like? They never could find an answer.
Intrigued, I then started asking on forums and reading other people's opinions on the matter. I've come to the same conclusion:
You guys have no (#$)#)( idea what you want.
A few of you, individually, MAY have an actual cohesive mentality that could actually be implemented. Far Far **FAR** more of you do not. You have some vague image or, at best, a small trailer of content of some sort of 'Tournament system' that quickly glosses over the major design issues, sort of like listening to a 10 year old complain about why we aren't all riding in flying cars yet. Some don't even have that and just want either "what I see on twitch stream, but IN THE GAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEEEEE!" or else REALLY want some other feature, like banning or a best of 3 system, or 'no netdecking' and using 'tournament mode' as a replacement term for it.
Many of the actual ideas tend to be rather dull (just like arena, but you make your own decks) or has a lot of problems for anyone outside a VERY small niche of people (most people don't have time to sit in a 3-5 hour series of games, especially if it involves a lot of waiting for other players. Most people that CAN do so are already playing the many online tournaments already available through third parties).
Lastly, I got to see the absolute disaster of a Tournament mode that Class Royal did a few years ago and realized that a bad system is NOT better than no system at all.
So, I'll be honest, I think the big mistake of last year with Tournament mode wasn't in canceling it; it was in announcing it in the first place. Even if they WERE working on it (I think they were) they should've held that close until they were close to a demo.
No, actually they shouldn't' have bothered. As said, we HAVE a fully fledged tournament system in HTC (now Masters) and a lot of side tournaments that pop up elsewhere. MUCH better marketing so that folks can find them would be greatly appreciated, but what's more needed are tools to help tournament runners RUN their tournaments rather than trying to make some automated thing in the client. What's needed a WHOLE lot more is social elements. I'd take a guild/clan system by far over a 'tournament' system anyday. THAT can be much better pictured and is something not already handled by outside systems right now. And a guild can make their own private tournament much easier than we can make organized groups right now.
In any case, the point is that this really is a case of 'the customer doesn't know what they want, but by God they want it!'
Wait, people are stupid enough to think the "Year of" means something? It's just a play on the chinese zodiac animals
As someone who experimented with big shaman before, your win condition is to not play against control
The two options show up at the start of your turn. If you run out of time, Wait for It... is automatically picked.
