Click here to go back to my Phase I post.
My entry for this competition is the Time Traveler class. This is a class themed all around... well, time which is represented in several different aspects of the class. The Hero Power of the class is Glimpse , which has you look at the top 3 cards of your deck and rearrange them in any order (if your deck has less than 3 cards when you activate this, it will simply show you less cards instead), allowing for strategically planning ahead a few turns because now you know what you're going to draw and being able to change and optimize your draws.
This class also introduces a new keyworded mechanic for the class, Quick-Time . Quick-Time effects activate if you play the card on the same turn it's added to your hand (either by drawing it or generating it, anything counts). In most other classes, this effect seems like it would be inconsistent and top-deck reliant. The Time Traveler class however has many ways to get around this, namely their Hero Power in which you can rearrange the cards you draw to make sure you draw the Quick-Time cards when you actually want to draw them. There are also some cards in the class which can make Quick-Time cards even easier to activate. This however is the Basic set, so we don't have to talk about it here.
UI for the Hero Power
These cards can be found back on the Phase I post.
Speaking of which, let's look at 5 Basic cards that showcase some of the aspects of the Time Traveler class.

One might look at Future Sight and think "This uses a card slot. Why don't I just use my Hero Power instead?" True, you can do that. However in addition to costing no Mana to play, you get to look and rearrange another card. That one extra card can easily make an extremely significant difference and make more strategies and plans. This is basically a one-time Hero Power with a huge powerspike which could be very strong. |
Accelerate Time provides a very interesting cycle card for Time Travelers. You can play this, then play the card you just drew essentially negating the 2 Mana cost of this card with the reduction of the card you just drew. It can be very useful for setting up Quick-Time effects combined with planning what you want to draw with it (possible via Hero Power and Future Sight ). At first glance, this might look underpowered compared to Far Sight . However Shaman has no way to manipulate or see their deck order and because of the smaller cost and discount, it's easier to get Mana value out of this. |
In addition to being able to manipulate time, Time Travelers also practice sand magic. Sand is the element of time after all. Quicksand is a good example card of this. For 4 mana, you put a minion back on top of their owner's deck. It's like a Sap , though it forces your opponent to draw the card again and take their draw up for that turn. Though usually not Mana efficient, you can also put your own minions on top of your deck to re-activate their Battelcries or Quick-Time effects. |
|
Time Traveler also gets Been There and Done That . Two cards that both cost 4 mana and have similar effects which copy cards ( Been There for minions and Done That for spells). The two cards complete the phrase "Been There, Done That" (challenge 6 yo!). When you see a minion card, you know you've been to their location before and you travel there and alter reality and give you additional copies of it. You'll also remember all the cool stuff you've done on your travels and Done That will give you those memories and live them once again. |
Remaining Basic cards:
Flavor Texts:
- Future Sight - It's important to not spend too much time focusing on your Future Sight, or you'll lose your Present Sight.
- Dust Typhoon - Pro-tip: Do not disenchant your good cards to make your Dust Typhoon bigger.
- Accelerate Time - It's amazing how impatient some Time Travelers are when they can literally control time.
- Sandmancer - Listen to the new Elite Tauren Chieftain song, "Enter Sandmancer".
- Quicksand - Even worse than Slowsand.
- Sand Attack - Never get into a sandcastle building contest with a Time Traveler.
- Been There - Hey, I know that place.
- Done That - Hey, I know that spell.
- Crossfire Bolts - Not to be confused with "X-fire Bolts".
- Banish - I hereby banish you to the other player's hand.

You shouldn;t be wishing for the Egg to survive xD

1- patches is already broken
2- it says "play" a minion not "summon"

I am facing this same dilemma atm...
I believe i will wait for the next expansion to see what's in store for us...
Though i would pick jaraxxus anyday...
Leeroy can be replaced by other chargers... Jaraxxus is unique and is a power house by itself..

Hey guys.
I am new to the forums so sorry if i am posting this in the wrong section.
But here's a few cards i made and would like to share with you all:
Did you ever wish something like "Exodia the Forbidden One" from Yu-Gi-Oh! was actually in hearthstone? Well here's a somewhat close set of cards:
The Guardian Series:
1- The Guardian's Forehead
2- The Guardian's Left Eye
3- The Guardian's Right Eye
4- The Guardian's Nose
5- The Guardian's Mouth
6- The Guardian!
7- The Guardian's Right-Hand
The dragon is in the pic of the Guardian but it has been cut off since it didn't fit.
NOTE: So here's a Priest card that complements this legendary. How about a 1 mana spell for Shaman that gives +3 attack to all the Guardian's parts. If you have any ideas please leave them in the comment section :)
Discussion:
First off, i know Guardian's stealth make no sense but i went with it logically and added their powers together. Second, the parts of Guardian where meant to look quite normal and even weaker than other cards and that is because you can use those cards instead of the ones you usually use and get a Guardian in the end! Nothing to lose there. Originally, the part's costs were 1 but i felt they were a bit overpowered so i was like what the heck, 2 is fine. As you may notice, each card's power is associated with its name or the picture. They weren't randomly chosen.

For the following cards, i know some of them may be poorly made and i wanted to fix them but didn't really get the chance. I will comment under each card if some changes were meant to happen.
There are some good ones in there so you can sneak a peak real quick at the warlock and rogue cards.
Others:
1- Classic Cards:
My first card ever! Please don't stop scrolling because of this :') I promise the rest are pretty cool cards!
How about it guys? The same cost as this minion's ATTACK!
Man those cost 8 8/8 dragons are boring! How about a demon? :)
Correction: He sucks compared to C'thun so i would've moved his cost to 9 or 8 (Keeping in mind that the deal 8 damage is not a Battlecry like C'thun but a deathrattle).
I personally find this card pretty cool! I mean if the opponent can't destroy him in time, he won't be able to, ever!
Correction: Maybe i could make a threshold for the minimum mana one can obtain. In other words when this minion is still alive and the mana of both players reaches 5, for example, next turn it will not go below 5.
I submitted this in this week's competition. It was made in a rush but it was meant to look like the Gods from the new expansion! The God of Balance! (Maybe 8 types is too much, how about 7?)
I could not decide on this minion's picture since i found so many! It all came down to this one or a lady guardian. Guess he won :/
Is it op? Maybe i mean you get 2 turns to prepare! Oh and btw when i say "Immune", i mean you can't heal him either!
I think this guy belongs to a class though! How about priest?
2- Warlock Cards:
Here's a new hero for you all:
And his hero power:
For Venom Demon (one of my favorites), at the start of your turn, when you draw a card, you take 1 damage and whenever you use your hero power, you take 3 damage and so on.
3- Druid Cards:
I think there should be more Giants out there and they deserve their own category.
4- Hunter Cards:
Correction: Her power should be a Battlecry which i forgot to add.
5- Warrior Cards:
I noticed i made this card waayyy too powerful!
Correction: First, i wanted to change his stupid name:p And change its cost to 5 (making it a bit hard to discard him if we liked a weapon) and make his special move only active "if you have 3 mana crystals or more" (since getting a weapon at the start of your turn is very op). Or i could've just made it so that the weapons summoned are only common or less. This was my second minion so cut me some slack :p
6- Shaman Cards:
For Giganto Totem, it was either this or: "Gain the attributes of the sacrificed totems (Attack and Health included). This minion's attack is always equal to its health." But maybe this last one is a bit too powerful.
7- Priest Cards:
I'm a priest/warrior player so can't believe i only came up with one card for each :/
8- Rogue Cards:
My pride and joy, I like this card most :)
8- Extras?
Okay so here's the deal. I made a "classless" spell by accident and now i have no idea with which hero to put it! So if you guys are interested, please find this spell a home :(
So here's the deal. Dragon eggs? Too mainstream! How about a new born baby? I mean that's something i want to see! He's not perfect but if we could fix up his attack and health we can really make something here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So there it is guys! Please leave your comments if you have any in the comment section below and let's make those card worth it!
Thanks a lot!
