 As only a few people seem to have figured out - the ranking system is arbitrary for the entire duration of the multiplier.  I suspect the only reason it's structured that was is to provide a base line for the stacked rewards as that's the only thing the ranking system serves.  Blizzard stated that matchmaking is based on MMR until the multiplier is exhausted, which clearly states the ranking system is redundant until that point!

To be fair, for someone who subjectively values golden cards significantly higher than the majority of players this change *would* look like a downgrade - they're entitled to that opinion as golden cards are what motivate them.  Me on the other hand, golden cards are nothing more than dust receptacles.

The general mass population are allergic to critical thinking.  They mask this with insults and denial.

The OP has merit in theory - and he is correct in saying that if top streamers were to implement it, then the rest would follow.  The majority are sheeple who just copy everyone else.  You only need to look for when Thijs (etc) plays a new deck and it's in the meta within 24hrs.

The sheeple are in denial though, and they don't wish to actually think about their position - so they'll continue to criticise and marginalise.

Where was that announced?  They stated the Wild cards would be in Standard until "the next major update".  I wouldn't exactly call the end of an event a major update.

Compared to the other hunter decks out there....this one is awful.

Zephrys somehow doesn't give u Assassinate btw when u have 5 mana and u need to remove something  big with 4 attack. Zephrys needs a patch and allow us to discover new basic and classic cards from DH with Outcast. For example Zeph usually offers u Earth Shock when u have 1 mana and you want to silence a minion, but he also should offer Consume Magic as an option or Twin Slice at 0 mana when u already got weapon (or not) and u lack of 1 damage (or 2) for lethal or trade. 

I'm not going to say that anything you could do would guarantee zephyr offers the card you want, but understanding how it works goes a long way.  Bugs aside, if you want a silence effect, try to get to 1 or 0 mana for earth shock or silence, relying on a poly or hex leaves a ton of options for zeph to throw at you. 

Why doesn't he offer hex or poly against teron?  It's a small minion with a deathrattle, so not much of a threat.  Zephyr has no idea what teron's card text says or what his deathrattle will do.  He only knows it has a deathrattle.  Similar to Kalecgos, Zeph  has no idea that it makes your first spell free and as such is unlikely to offer a perfect spell for lethal.

You need to really spell it out for him, which sadly means sometimes settling for a slightly less perfect card is some situations, at least for the moment.

I just lost a game because of a horrible pool of discoverable cards from Zephyrs. My opponent played Teron Gorefiend. Me, at 8 mana, get myself to 6 before playing Zephyrs to get a hex or polymorph. But what are the fucking options it gives me? Tirion, Soul of the Forest, and Edwin. What the actual fuck is this bullshit? 

I really like the new system, it’s way less frustrating than the previous one.

I played ~3 hours tonight and then ~2 today and hit diamond 5. To compare: before I was a casual “rank 5 is enough” player, and it would take me much more time, effort and nerves to reach rank 5. There were a couple of months when I would still end up at ranks 6-7.

Luckily, last month I climbed to rank 3, and then fell back to rank 5 because I’m really fed up with the meta and played off-meta meme’ish decks. Yet I got x10 multiplier and my climbing was really fast and smooth. Also, I dunno if the new system is the case, but while climbing, I faced a broader variety of decks: not only dragon hunters, embiggen/token druids or gala rogues, as it used to be, but also (to mention just a few) a couple of control-burgle priests, bomb/control warriors, overload and gala shamans, elemental mage. So climbing was fun because even though I lost quite a lot of matches, at least 50% of them were interesting and not predetermined.

So, overall, I’m really happy, maybe I’ll even try to reach legend this month, since the meta will be fresh. The new reward system is also rather generous and motivating. Maybe it’s just the first month and things will be different, but so far I’m really positive about this change.

 What lessthan3 said. I'm guessing you got some pretty lucky winstreaks to get there that fast, but for anyone with less than the 11 times multiplier it's going to be significantly more difficult for them to achieve legend than you did, relatively speaking.

I'm literally just saying what Blizzard said themselves. They wanted to match people with similar MMR but still give a sense of progression. It's working for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

 It works for most people. Just get to legend quicker if you dislike normal ranks so much. 

I don't get what you're saying? I don't dislike anything. People were discussing why Blizzard had chosen to have everyone go back to bronze 10 every month when everything is MMR based anyway (so you're essentially playing against the same players no matter your rank), and I repeated Blizzard's own argument: that they still wanted to give the players a sense of progression. And I think they've achieved that. That's what I meant by 'working'.

 This is cool and I wish you gl, but I think you'll find that the climb gets a lot slower as you progress. I'm currently plat 8 and my star bonus has already been reduced to 4 from the 10 I started with. It took me about 30 minutes to get here, but I anticipate possibly another few days for high diamond given how quickly the star bonus seems to go away as you get higher.

 it took me less than 30 wins to get back to legend, the winstreak does the job. started at 11 bonus since i was legend last month. I am sure it was less than 30 wins since i was still earning gold for winning earlier today lol. I think legend is just a formality, i am far from cnsidering myself amount the best, even very good ones, and it took less than 3 hours on day 1...

That's the whole idea of this thread - to show the flaws in the ladder system so they change it to a full MMR one.
