Well, I would limit yourself to only one region. Why? Because although when you are just starting you can choose the most favorable of the early pack rng, once you are past that point you simply wont be able to dedicate the time required to play on three regions.
So pick the region you have the best cards in, and stick with it.
Next, I assume you already did this, but there is a free DK in the frozen throne adventure, so make sure to get it if you havent already.
If you actually like arena, play it, otherwise dont. I am a pretty good constructed player, but I am typically unable to do much more than break even with buying packs playing arena. So dont do it.
You should craft baku, but dont open any more WW packs. Save for the next expac.
hope this helped, have fun!
Hey mate thanks for your advice. NA is my primary account, and unless something crazy happens with the legendaries I get in other regions it'll stay like that. I'll probably pick one region to ladder in, then just knock off dailies in the others and try to keep them rotating through. If I run out of time I can just drop a region any time, no biggie.
My Europe gold pack got 1300 dust worth of cards so I could easily dust them and Baku it up. I'll have to look at what cards I've got and figure out the region he'll be most beneficial to me.
The WW packs is the quandary I've got a the moment. The vast majority of gold is in Americas, but that's where I'm getting 50% dust. The other regions I'm spending the gold on the old expansions 1x1 to get that first legendary, and I've got a few more packs to open and not enough gold. Arena might have to get shelved for a little bit.
Sounds like you're on a similar track as myself. I started on NA, cracked into EU to see what I scored, then started spending a bit on NA and simply doing dailies on EU.
I think it's better to simply play on one server, especially after putting in a bit of cash. If you want a pool of legends, wether to dust or use, on the cheap, go wild. The adventures give you an amazing pool (if you want to play wild) of cards, legendary ones too.
Wait, what - there's a whole 'nother world of adventures etc in Wild? I assumed it was just for constructed? I need to check that out so I understand it properly. I've only spent money in NA and I won't be spending any in the others. They're just for the dailies, arena, and to maybe try a few little strategies here and there. I've got PLENTY of time at the moment, but no not enough time to set targets and hit them in three regions.
It is totally worth buying 10 packs from each of those expansions. You will have 3 new legendaries in total where you can make new decks around. I can tell you from experience, because I packed Kalimos, Primal Lord and Hadronox this way and still enjoy playing those
Also you get a lot of commons and rares and a few epics, so your 3K dust won’t be wasted.
Conclusion: buy the 10 packs from an expansion, and then move on to the next until you got all of them, it will pay off, even if you get bad legendaries.
Yeah mate I'm doing that - just one at a time until I get the legendary from each. Really low on gold and I want to save some for Arena, but in time I'll get those legendaries from each of the expansions and have a nice addition of cards :D
So in my first KFT pack I got Arfus (who I think is really cool) and I thought it would be easy! Pack 5 of Un'Goro got me Hemet (who looks like absolute garbage) - only 7k worth of dust away from the Shudderwork Shaman now...... O_o
I gave up there for Asia as I was getting low on gold.
Europe I got 2 epics in my second KFT pack - Arcane Tyrant, and Spiteful Summoner. I then got Jungle Giants in my second Un'Goro pack. I did vomit in my mouth a little from getting a quest card!
Be aware that kft, ungoro, and Kac will rotate next year. Personally I still am getting those packs for my kid, but she’s playing both formats, and so am I.
Makes sense why I couldn't figure out what the wings were all about! Thank you :)
I think it's SO COOL that you're playing HS with your kid. That's the kind of thing I'd get excited about if I had any kids haha
I realise those expansions are rotating out in 9 months, but I think it would be worth the gold to get one legendary from each (unless you advise otherwise). My thought on that is because I'm getting to the point in my main account where I'm getting 50% dust from Arena, so it seems to make sense that it would be an efficient way to add more cards with pretty much 0% dust risk and the "cheapest" way to add more legendaries. I won't buy any more packs after opening each legendary.
Why do you think Aluneth is flexible and used in a lot of decks? It's used in exactly one deck - tempo mage.
Good point inus95! I think what I meant was that I enjoy playing mage and I have a few different Mage decks - I know who would be considered a tempo mage, but I don't know archetypes well enough to be able to label my decks! But I think that Aluneth is a powerful, highly rated legendary that would make a big difference in my various mage decks and will have potential to be strong with future expansions. Just my assumptions really.
I would also recommend not dusting cards you know are overpowered. Dusting card by card are always better then “hitting the button”. Almost every expantion stuff gets nerfed. And blizzard announced early that they were looking on cubelock etc... keeping stuff with similar power level to old corridor creeper, old cubelock, and old spiteful, always brings back the decent dust value you should have got in the first place.
It's a great theory, but knowing what's OP is gonna be really difficult for me unless there's a list somewhere?
I had been reading about ppl saying it's best to invest gold in "unlocking wings" - was that the old style of adventures? Different to what's available now? Cuz that's something that I just haven't been able to figure out.
I finished Frozen Throne with one region (and as far as I'm concerned they can keep their bloody packs in the others! #@$%$#%@) but I did complete the prologue in all for the free DK. There doesn't seem to be any cards of packs available in K&C? I'm working my way through the WW adventure just to get the quest packs. Couldn't care less about a card back for completing it!
For me arena isn’t worth it. This is because arena gives you the latest packs and Im only interested in gold. In the middle of an expansion I should already own all the cards I want. The ideal strategy is saving up gold until an expansion hits. At launch you spend around 10k gold on packs and after hitting the pity timer you immidiately begin hoarding gold. Simply completing daily quests gets you there!
Further to that - if I used the Arena strat I could stop playing it once I hit that point where I had the cards I wanted.
I'm starting to get a dust % from Arena in Americas. Does anyone have a % of dustable cards where it would be inefficient to keep getting packs from that expansion? I've had 15 dusters from the last 6 WW packs (50%) in Americas - I'm thinking that's getting close to being not worth the investment and time to start saving.
Feel free to friend me if you want to ask more questions, I play on NA jaybaseball1#1802
Thanks man I'll hit you up. I'm never getting infinite on Arena, but can be "pseudo-infinite" in that the daily quests across 3 regions > my spend across those three with Arena.
I realise that it's not the quickest strategy, and I have heard about the strategy that Rwl..... uses. For me the challenge of playing, learning, and hopefully getting packs "cheaper" with the offset of Arena rewards is a lot more appealing at the moment than a bulk buy at the start of an expansion. Though I can just imagine the rush of opening 100 packs at once!!!!!
I also need as much experience as I can get playing.
Regarding the guaranteed legendary. Thank you! I knew there was something like that, but I wasn't sure of it. I got two of the GIH packs for Americas but none for the others - just the welcome bundle. So a good strat could be to buy those packs until I get the legendary as you say, and then use the rest of the gold in Arena for the new expansion. It would be investing a good chunk of gold in cards that will go out of rotation next April, but I think it may well be worth it. Who knows I may get the legendaries after 4-5 packs - and hopefully the epic too.
That's amusing. How can it be difficult to play when you don't even do anything. There are no choices to make. The deck is full of safety nets and pretty much plays itself.
That's EXACTLY what I thought - and I'm only about 6 weeks in and couldn't name any cards off the top of my head in x deck if someone asked - except fucking Taunt Druid. I know that if you're a complete moron you're likely to lose, but almost any idiot can spend money and craft that deck and follow the regimented instructions on how to win with 7 easy turns. Seems like anyone playing it has got to be a zombie!
I was pleased to see that it's win rate has slowly but steadily dropped over the last few months. It'll be irrelevant soon.
Man you didn't even try and make thay easy to read. It's a bio.
Play more, save dust for expansion.
:'(
That's the ASD. Sorry, I know I "talk" too much. Just trying to make sure I get everything out as I have trouble getting across what I'm trying to say - I know.....hard to believe yeah?
Just played my baku mage a bit and ran into an even lock. My scroll of wonder played both ring the bells and BOK on his minions (bok after his bloodreaver). Fast forward 3 turns, I've cleared his minions and have 1 blazing elemental on board, 25 health against his 10, 8 cards in hand against his 3 and 11 cards in deck against his 3 again. Easy win you'd say? Well scroll of wonder says Cataclysm.
Oh man, I'm sorry - but I really did laugh out loud. If for no other reason than rejoicing in finding "my own kind". I'm not the only unlucky c*&t playing HS!!!!!
