Really strong atm. One of the more difficult decks to pilot (despite what people will claim)...requires good use of resources and knowledge of the meta decks to utilise properly..

Recommend taking as much of your turn as possible to decide your plays with this one..especially later game, one mistimed/unecessary blizzard can cost you..

I reached in Alana for some ranks and cam to be a great addition.

posted a message on All playable cards are either epic or legendary AGAIN just like in Kobols

Everyone moaning..jeez. I like how people think they know which cards are decent or not already without even touching the expansion....properly childish. As for expense.....outside of pauper decks, go try and build some top end magic decks, then moan about HS. The 70 pack bundle will get you a decent amount of the set and as other mature comments have mirrored, if you are clever about how you do things and play, you can amass quite a collection for free.....as I've stated before, I have a friend who went free to play to legend in roughly 5 months...it's called, being smart and not moaning. If you were handed everything on a plate, what's the point? Where's the business model....I'm sorry but, if you can't afford $50 dollars or so, once every 3 months for a game you claim to enjoy and spend time on (enough to join a forum and post hundreds of times..) then you probably have bigger problems on your hands and shouldn't be playing a card game. $50 is peanuts when you consider the game is FREE. Oh just go f2p and stop bitching..get good.

I think without poly effect or removal..this could quickly become very dangerous...admittedly, taunt would be nice and somewhat fitting design wise..can see this having late game combo potential for sure

posted a message on Meta Degeneracy and Bots at Legend

    Quote from Hooghout >>

As bots might be a problem, card design by the Brode Identity seems to be much more of a problem. Pointing to builds with a very low skill floored which can be used by a bot in an auto pilot fashion (paladin, mage and warlock variations), are just the abuse of a type of card design construct for easy win-fix purposes.

Image the skill floor of decks was designed higher, win conditions more difficult, it would immediately lead to less of a bot problem. By the way, there will always commentators here who will question your authority to bring the problems to bare. Who the f*ck are you?...so to speak. The reason is simple and it has to do with an authority complex: only 'established' and recognized people may talk. It's part of entrenched fanboyism on fora like these which focusses on defending the Brode Identity. This is how, unfair unbalanced, undivers card design for max pack selling reasons is kept afloat....therefore the bot problem.

Got to love a classic Hooghout nonsense post. Famous for it. You aim to disenfranchise the views of those who speak logical sense by defending a director who has "been hired" to direct an absolutely massive game with huge commercial requirements. Do you not see the irony in your comment?
Is the aim to sell packs in HS? Not entirely. Is it there..? Yes. It would be ridiculous for it not to be. That is the business model. Are cards/decks designed with the intention of forging pack purchase dynamics from a player base.. No, not on the way you're making out at all.. You clearly have a limited understanding of the development and business environment the team work within..Likely some youngster who hasn't even touched the business world yet.
If you're so sure of your views surrounding card design, in regard to both the game itself and the commercial side of things, why are you not working in the field?? Really simple question... Why are you not hired over Brode?

Love people slating it. You don't just cheese your way to those ranks... Also, yes. If a deck such as Murloc Pal gets a perfect curve draw then yeh, you might get mowed down but that's just the game sometimes...says nothing about the decks effectiveness when, and I can't stress this enough..IT IS PLAYED WELL

posted a message on A simple challenge for folks who think the game is rigged.

    Quote from Lysenko >>

Regarding whether matchmaking is biased toward certain match-ups based on a player's selected archetype:

It dawned on me just down that hsreplay.net displays raw counts of recorded games for each archetype matchup in their database.  (Go to the Meta tab, click on Matchups, and mouse over each win percentage.)  Their total sample size is millions of games in the past 7 days, and some of the more common matchups have 60-70 thousand games recorded.

Just inspecting the numbers casually, there doesn't seem to be any indication that certain archetypes are particularly over- or under-represented in matches for other archetypes.  So, it doesn't appear that they're doing the kind of thing I was hypothesizing about.

If someone wants to collect those numbers and do a more rigorous analysis, I'd be interested to read it, but I didn't see much interesting to convince me that it would be worth doing so myself

Yeh, people come on forums saying they've "tested" something with 150 games and implore others to do so also in an uncontrolled manner. HS replay has stats for a deck for example with over 330'000 games played and you see full class representations across the board matching current the current meta. yet they'll claim there's some form of rigging going on.......
