Actually, a 2/3 taunt for 2 has been sorely needed against Aggro for a long, long time. This could spell great things for Token decks (which can turn that 2/3 into either a real threat with Savage Roar, or act as a wall behind which other minions can attack) and Nourish-Ramp decks (which can make up for the card disadvantage caused by running a "vanilla" 2 drop that's not very good against Control).

capncredible posted a message on New Card - Anodized Robo CubPosted in: Card DiscussionQuote from Sonserf369 »Not terribly interesting. Its flexible, but the choice it provides isn't meaningful. The line between a 3/2 and a 2/3 isn't that relevant. Taunt doesn't do it much of a favour either, as Flame Imp and Undertaker eat this thing for breakfast. If anything, it gives Druids their own little mech.
Likely relevant in Arena when your opponent drops a turn 1 2/1. So many times I have a 2 drop 3/2, and would rather have a 2/3 to survive the 1 drop they played.

They would still heal since this is not coming from the priest.

Tacoboss posted a message on Ogre WarmaulPosted in: Ogre WarmaulThis card could be specific to that legendary card that gives both heroes a weapon. The color looks like it could be a golden only. But then the weapon would be legendary as well, no? Idk this is a weird card.

iandakar posted a message on Death's Bite deathrattle timingPosted in: General DiscussionWAIT a minute. This doesn't sound right. The weapon doesn't get its own timing.
Consider
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELrjqmCfL_M#t=152
Note that we have the case of the cultist/death's bite effect. If you notice closely, even thogth the warrior hit the cultist first, death's bite fired before the cultist did (you'll see the blademaster go to 0, the back up to 3). Thus the weapon 'dies' to the same 'deathcheck' as the minion that was killed. Otherwise, you'd see the blademaster go to 4 health, then drop to 3.
so the hypothesis s to why it's happening is wrong.
But so is the hypothesis that it's bugged. It's working as intended.
here's the order:
3/1 and Cultist on board. Warrior hits the cultist.
Cultist goes to 3/0. Death's bite is now 4/0 (0 durability). Both are considered dead.
Two triggers occur: Death's bite's whirlwind and cultist's buff. Note that ALL 'triggers' must go off before death is checked.
Thus the 3/1 is hit with the whirlwind and brough to 3/0. BUT there's still a trigger left so minion can't die yet.
Cultist trigger goes off, 3/0 turns into a 3/3.
THEN the deathcheck. The minion isn't at 0 so it doesn't die.
THAT is why it works as it goes. It's not a bug. It's a working feature of the game.
Note that if if the cultist was pplayed first then the cultist's buf would go FIRSt, bringing the minion to 3/4, then whirlwind would bring it to 3/3.
The confusion is in not knowing when 'death' is checked and thinking that 0 health = death instantly. In HS, minions don't die, even if they are killed.
(btw, you can pull the same stunt with snipe+SoJ. There's a Funny and Lucky of that play happening)
Btw, this isn't a trivial matter because of this big deal:
If a harvest golem drops first before the weapon, then is hit with a 1 durability death's bite, the damaged golem WILL die to the whirlwind.

It has been previously stated that there would indeed be a theme. They did not mention if it would be a specific mechanic or just general flavour though. Hopefully we don't need to ask them this and they'll announce it at the panel early on Friday!

kendallsg posted a message on The Hearthstone Rules (Parody Post)Posted in: General DiscussionYou didn't even mention anything about Priest or facing Ragnaros the Firelord....
Ragnaros the Firelord will always go face if you have 8 or less health, especially if you have 7 minions on the board.
If you are playing against a Priest, he will always Thoughtsteal your best cards/win conditions, and you will not draw those cards yourself until your 26th card, when it's already too late as you are being killed by your own cards. If you have Sylvanas Windrunner in your deck, the Priest will steal multiple copies during the game. If you have Tirion Fordring in your deck... he will be stolen even if your oppenent is only playing one Thoughtsteal and you will not draw Tirion Fordring until card 28, when it will get immediately see Mind Control, silence, or The Black Knight followed by Acidic Swamp Ooze, or any such combination as to render him worthless.
If you attempt to play Thoughtsteal or Ragnaros the Firelord yourself, you will be graced with stealing 3 mana cost or less value and watch in the glory of dealing 8 damage to a 2/1, 1/2, or 1/1 minion. If you are playing against a Rogue, you will Thoughtsteal only Deadly Poison.

Sure thing man. I changed up a couple of things though so this list is a little outdated.
-2 Houndmaster -1 flare +2 Unleash The Hounds +1 Timber Wolf
This was mainly to improve my match-up against zoo and shaman plus I also think Unleash The Hounds is really good in the meta now since most people won't expect it and as a result; they don't play around it.

I still like Hunter. Especially since nobody seems to be prepared for the UTH Hyena Timber/Dire wolf combo. My hunter deck needs no legendaries. I can't play many decks that slug it out because I get Legend-stomped. It's pretty much Hunter or Warlock for me.

Or they eventually go down the MTG path and start making ranked play specific to current set. Or set up more than one play option for the two. This set doesn't bring us to that point though as I see it.

He has low attack... Belcher alone almost wipes him. This is a huge risk that is very easily countered. I think we'll have to see all the mech cards before deciding this value. The up side is that when it comes up you have your full turns mana to clear his way or charge him up.

Great point. Or with Acidic Swamp Ooze on turn 8. It also gives you first crack at weapon use to bring the kill home.

I don't know if 'testing your arena prowess' on a different server will make much sense most of the time. I guess there might be a few people that value their time low enough to save 1 or 2 hundred gold, but I can't see it making much sense for too many people.

When someone manages a Murloc deck. With more murlocs than you can in constructed. And he gets 3-4 warleaders down at the same time. How many terrible decks did that person go through until he managed choose enough Murlocs?

I've played several hundred games at this point and can't remember a single time that someone played Doomhammer. He's a Meta-response card. That's all.

This is where we need a table flipping option.

Such a great card for trading. Even if someone silences it, you still have a 2/3 for 2, and handled a silence.
