Blightwolf posted a message on New Hunter Card Revealed - Wild BloodstingerPosted in: NewsI'm sorry, this is certainly strong, but I don't see a problem with pushing hunter in another direction (control, rather than midrange or aggressive). To me, at least, this is a very control-ly card (obviously similar to Dirty Rat, as so many people have pointed out), which indicates that Blizz is pushing hunter in a new direction. Yes, this is an overstatted six drop, but it likely won't end up at full health when it hits the board. This could be considered a slower hunter deck's answer to token decks, since it would be at its most powerful in that case. Nevertheless, consider the fact that many decks (say, giants mage) run threats which are big enough to make this obsolete, or at least significantly less powerful than other decks. One (though certainly not the only reason) that Dirty Rat was so strong was that it could be used with Mind Control Tech, among many other combos. There isn't really any noteworthy card currently in standard which could make a comparable combo, so I don't see a problem. Finally, if you want to talk about overstatted hunter beast 6-drops, then consider Savannah Highmane.
Admittedly, Hunter is getting other strong cards, especially those which enable combos, but we've seen mechanics which allow hunters to cheat out big beasts before in the game, so I don't see that changing in the near future as long as hunter continues to just get slower cards without the control tools to carry them to that point in the game.
Your worry may be merited (and only time will tell!), but for now, I'd say that you can rest easy knowing that any aggro deck can easily beat a hunter before they get to the point of unloading their combo or becoming a control deck that truly needs combo disruption.

Seems like it could be okay. I mean, you do get "infinite value."
I wonder if the Reno card will have some interaction with the amount of random spells you've played.Sorry, but saying “randomness will be part of mage quest” hardly passes as “called this quest here”.

1xbenx1 posted a message on New Warlock Legendary Quest Card - Supreme ArcheologyPosted in: Card DiscussionAs shown by Kibler, Plot Twist is almost there as an archetype. It is held back by the fact that it only really has 2 big turns.
This gives you a lot more big turns. There are still some problems with early game aggression, but at least this gives Warlock a well-defined end game. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

this with two Baleful Bankers when your deck is empty = infinite value!

I play reno mage in wild and I think that Sindragosa fits a lot better in the deck than The Lich King does. Sindragosa gives you 1-2 Water Elementals and 2 ok minions whereas The Lich King usually only gives you one card, and the card it gives you is usually not necessary for your deck. For example, you wouldn't want to play the 6 mana and the 5 mana spell because they remove cards from your deck and make you fatigue faster, and mage has enough removal that it doesn't really need Obliterate or Death Coil.

Absolutely, I just played against 5 in a row. (I have played against more than 50 in the past year) They all had Barnes on turn 4. The most tilted thing to play against is Ragnaros the Firelord. If I play aggro they resurrect Obsidian Statue, if I play midrange I can't out value them, if I play control/otk they resurrect Ragnaros the Firelord. Unless you are mage or shaman and you draw your transforming spells before turn 4 or 6, you are very unlikely to win. A deck that counters 7 classes is not only unpleasant to play against, but also problematic because the only way you can win with those classes is to hope that they draw badly. which is not interactive.
Edit: I meant the 5 I played against in a row all had Barnes on turn 4, not all 50.

why Book of Specters? isn't it a bit too risky to lose spells since you only have one copy each? and it lowers the power level of Dragon's Fury

I tried the deck, won the first 2 games, and then I told myself to play until I lose a game. I ended up winning the first 8 games in a row, and lost to a quest warrior on my 9th game.
