Strongpoint posted a message on THE NEW REWARD SYSTEM IS NICE, BUTPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from FrostbytesNL >>What you all talking about, we should all be outraged about this.
Let's keep it as simple as possible for us to understand!
Before 30 wins per day would take you about 6-8 hours of gameplay give or take and yes 7 days to get maximum gold per week.
6h x 7 days = 42 hours per week x 12 = 504 hours per quarter to get roughly 15k gold. (+-16.65 gold per hour)
8h x 7 days = 56 hours per week x 12 = 672 hours per quarter to get roughly 15k gold. (+-12.5 gold per hour)Now you need 644.000 XP to get maximum gold per expansion. 400XP per hour!
644.000 / 400 = 1610 Hours per quarter = 134.16 hours a week! / 7 = 19 hours per day.
to get 20.500 gold and 2 legendaries. (+-6.21 gold per hour)Old rewards:
12.5 gold per hour
New rewards
6.2 gold per hour
Now you can look at my calculations and argue about minor detail here or a minor detail there. And I hope I've made a huge calculation mistake because simply put, blizzard has cut our wages in half when playing Hearthstone.
Source for some of the numbers I based it on here: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/2200-the-rewards-track-how-long-to-get-to-level-50-644000-experience-required-to-get-to-level-150People who play 6-8 hours per day... really should seek addiction treatment. As well as ones who treat F2P rewards as a "wage"

KillJack posted a message on THE NEW REWARD SYSTEM IS NICE, BUTPosted in: General DiscussionPeople who are complaining about this new system are unbelievable. It’s clearly about three times more generous than the old one and far more fun... then people are whining they have to pay money in order to get further extras.
Newsflash!! Blizzard are a business. Businesses need to make money. Would you work for free?

Can't believe the devs started working for free. Great news.

RaptorWithWings posted a message on Scholar Jaina & Horseman Uther Will Receive Unique Voice Lines In A Future PatchPosted in: NewsYes, they should’ve had unique voice lines in the first place. Sure it was them being lazy and they took a while to respond to the criticism. But the fact that they actively listened to us is something I was not expecting.
They had the power to just ignore it all and keep half-assing it since people still bought the skins, but they chose to give us what we actually wanted. I’m sure people will still be mad at Blizzard, but I’m glad to know that they’re willing to fix their mistakes when we make ourselves heard. -

NIOIN posted a message on Blizzard Speaks Out - Actions To Support Our Black Community, Colleagues, And PartnersPosted in: NewsProblem is, people aren't scared of being racist towards white people.
People always try to demonize others so that they can claim to have slain a monster and that they themselves aren't monsters. And no matter how strongly spread racism towards black people is nowadays, it still is insanely strong in people's minds. Like, when we have interracial violence and the victim was black, everyone will immediately assume the motive was racism, not anything else. Media doesn't help there either. You can't just talk about black people doing this or doing that, it's not a good story, people want to hear about the tragedy of white people assaulting black, not the other way around. This is dangerous because it helps them slip easily inside this victim role.
Note that I don't even care about statistics here. I really do think this is just how humans are. They believe it is impossible for power to shift. This is why it doesn't work if you name a group trying to fight for equality after the people it's currently fighting for. When nothing is left fighting for the group inevitably becomes a toxic mess...

SlipperyBum posted a message on Blizzard Speaks Out - Actions To Support Our Black Community, Colleagues, And PartnersPosted in: NewsCO-founder of the movement outed herself a marxist versed in marxist political strategy, anyone who supports BLM is either a marxist themself or just a useful idiot. Screw your appeal to identity politics. ALL LIVES MATTER, and THAT's THAT.

SanityBox posted a message on Blizzard Speaks Out - Actions To Support Our Black Community, Colleagues, And PartnersPosted in: NewsIn my opinion, supporting "BLACK LIVES MATTER" and supporting anti-racism and black people are different things. It's also not an anti-racist movement, when it is being racist itself to all other races besides black, and being offensive to people holding other beliefs, especially right-winged people.
Violently forcing affirmative action will not bring the black community closer to equality; The community will throw the black community bones, such as soft words, some job positions and few budgets, but will fear them more. They won't be taking care of the real issues that put the black community in USA a step behind, like handling crime and giving them proper education like they should have. I support anti-racism and all equality for all races, black, yellow and white, but cannot support BLM.
And about Blizzard. this feels like an ass-cover; You mostly respect your money sources, like China (Blitzchung will confirm), and not black people. How many black streamers do you have compared to White and Chinese ones? How many Black officials you have in your company compared to White ones? How many teams from Africa participate in your tournaments?... (It's okay, BLM doesn't care to much about Africa either). [This is only my opinion based on partial information and I can change it, comments are welcome].

vNihilism posted a message on Blizzard Speaks Out - Actions To Support Our Black Community, Colleagues, And PartnersPosted in: NewsSo when I say black people aren't facing a significant amount of prejudice compared to other groups you take that to mean I don't think it happens at all.
And when I remind you that prejudice against white people is far more widely accepted in America you take it as me saying they are a "persecuted group".
Sad selective logic there. I doubt someone like you could form a reasonable opinion even if you did read from a variety of sources. Which I suspect was a major case of projection on your part. You didn't even bother to try and argue, you just accused me of being misinformed without contradicting anything I said or backing up your own case lmao

Now that the no-duplicates rule applies to all rarities, are people also crafting the golden epics that they want before opening packs?

Yes!

I've been playing HS for about two and a half years and have spent approximately $1,500 on the game. One of the reasons that I enjoy playing video games is that I find in them a small escape from some of the negative aspects of everyday life--one of which is the progressive destruction of beneficial age-old ideas, practices, and institutions in our society. This erosion has become increasingly widespread in recent years. You can see evidence of it in people's preoccupation with political correctness and the eagerness with which those in high-profile positions in business and politics kowtow at the demands of any special interest group able to feign sufficient outrage.
I'll take Dave Kosak at his word that these recent changes to card and hero art were not made because of external pressures, but because "We went back and really just brought everything up to our standards." Whether these changes were made because those making the decisions at Blizzard believe in this sort of political correctness or because they wanted to cater to those who do, I won't be spending another penny on HS.

It's nice that there's nothing associated with this adventure that can't be obtained by buying the wings with gold. I expected that they would lock part of the reward (e.g. a cardback, Zayle, or the golden pack) behind a paywall. Thank you, Blizzard :)

I'm surprised to see so many people say that Nefarian is a free win. In the six or so games that I played, Rag won every game but one.

Beautiful artwork and fun effect. Day one golden craft for me!

I can imagine how a random player win-trading on ladder might slip through the cracks. I'm a fairly casual HS player though, and I remember hearing about the stream-sniping incident at the time that it occurred. And in case someone hadn't heard about it or had forgotten, all he or she would have had to do was tune in to the World Championship stream and look at chat for 20 seconds to be reminded. It was the biggest story of the tournament (even before the tournament began). How did no one involved with organizing/managing the tournament realize that this would cause such a controversy?

The glimpse-of-the-past aspect goes well with the rotating card pool for Arena that they announced. Really cool idea--now that I've seen the teaser, I'm looking forward to the announcement of the announcement.

Seems like a less expensive format, which could be good for giving players who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to field a competitive lineup access to tournament play.

Hopefully, we'll see people experimenting with new decks for this Brawliseum...but who am I kidding
