I played a retarded deck with Kingsbane + buffs, Sonya and 3 Lich King, it went 6-3 because the other decks were also insane, the last one I faced was basically dude paladin, a tier one deck in constructed. I'm glad they are tuning it.
It looks like a solid card but it's not meta, so there isn't a real reason to play it. I think it has the best potential in recruit/armour druid but that deck is not mature yet.
Lets say I play this in control warlock, what would I pull? A bunch of taunts? Thalnos? One voidlord would be the dream but even if I get tar creeper, homunculus and a 3/3, average outcome, it would still be draw and play 3 cards and get a 5/5, probably the card is actually playable.
How badly you can misjudge a card: I thought Marin was unplayable in this bonemare meta, it turns out that it's like a bonemare for control, as soon as you're in position of killing the treasure you play the fox and immediately capitalize, I played it in control warlock, with Elise and Gul'dan, and this card performed quite well. In one match my opponent's Kazakus potion even revived the treasure and it was completely value overload, the first card gave me two Ysera and the second one 5 Gul'dan XD, not bad for a free legendary.
Don't worry, I know how these decks works,I played a ton of warlock since kft came out. I probably made it worse than it is, I even said that I like the deck composition and that is close to ideal. I guess I shouldn't really complain about ridiculous opening since those are the bane of every control deck. Don't worry I'm not done with this deck and I will keep playing it.
Ps: running double courier is not as bad as you might think even if I use those in a deck I play for fun.
With this deck in ten games I won 3 and I didn't even play medivh or lich king in those, early van cleef? No answer, southsea captain? No answer, turn 5 medivh against druid? No answer, hydra? No answer, etc. The deck composition is close to what an ideal demon lock is but if you don't have the right card at the right moment you just lose, also mages need to be really unlucky to beat you. Even the much lighter version i played for fun with double golakka/gnomeferatu/kabal courier/stonehill + gluttonous ooze and Elise performed better.
I remember, when I was just a noob, the first time someone pulled an innervate, innervate, coin, Emperor Thaurissan opening. It turns out now there are too many op cards to have you in standard, goodnight sweet prince.
I actually crafted this card and I don't regret it, it performs as intended and it is absolutely in line with other legendary cards that are good enough for constructed but fits only in certain decks. If you want only auto include or top tier cards you'll found 90% of the legendary useless. I honestly prefer this type of legendary to the must craft powerhouse that new players can't afford.
I played several matches against jade druid and as soon as you play skulking geist you basically give up on board because you play a 6 mana 4/6 and they usually answer with some huge 9 or 10 mana play that wrecks you because they're so ahead on mana, only once it worked but it was against an old version of the deck (un'goro). If skulking geist was a 4 mana 2/4 then it would be an appropriate hard counter but you can't drop this card against druids that with 2 spells draw a third of their deck and drops lich king on turn 5 like its nothing.
I tried some whirlwind warrior, terrible against other warriors since you keep activating sleep with the fishes, and execute for your opponent. I guess the same would be for enrage, berserker etc, what a nightmare, the archetype itself is not bad but the tempo variant gets completely rekt by the control's and the latter might be too slow.
I had about a dozen ungoro packs and got the caverns below, 2 standard's and got nozdormu 8 old gods for a soggoth and I got nothing from 2 Gadgetsan. I accumulated these packs until the new rules went live, I can't be sure I was affected by the new 10 packs pity timer since I opened packs from different expansions but I don't think I was just lucky.
I played some thief rogue in ungoro, Elise works very well with peddler and you can get insane turns with a double discounted hand but the deck is really inconsistent since not only rogue struggles with card draw but you also have to find usable stuff. Ironically when I saw prince valanar I thought that the only archetype that card would have been played into was thief rogue but nope, we have a much better 4 drop here.

Murmuring elemental, and the new shaman hero card could be a lot of fun with cards like this and stonehill defender.
