crazyferrari posted a message on Hearthstone Vs Magic Vs Yu-Gi-OhPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from MarineKingHS >>It's irrelevant but skillwise HS is by far the most easy and simple CCG of them all. MTG>>>>>>Yugioh>>HS. Competitively the skillcap of HS is VERY low, often you can play an entire match where every turn was automatic because the only decision was an obvious one. It was made to be this way, so that any novice could pick up HS in an instant and have a legit chance to win games (so long as they buy enough packs!).
but like I said it's irrelevant because HS just kicked MTG and Yugiohs ass royally by becoming better and more successful within a short time. Wizards should be embarrassed at how badly they just got handed by a company that had no experience on card games whatsoever. They had the opportunity to spruce up their own Online CCG for years now and were lazy about it. Now HS is taking the CCG world by storm and let's be honest, online is the future of CCG's.
This is also completely wrong. Magic has been around for 20 years. |The community is so much better than HS, the mechanics are rich, there are so many awesome formats, so many cards to experiment with them, and is overall a better game. Not trying to say hearthstone sucks or anything, but there is no way that a game like hearthstone could top a game that has been evolving for 20 years. -

wizgeeky posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!Posted in: General DiscussionGood advice I recently got beat back down to 15 from reaching 10. I don't think it was a lucky streak I just played better and then started getting outplayed. I think next time i'll take the advice and stop after 2 ranks.

sourdragoone posted a message on 5 neutral cards every new player should have!Posted in: General DiscussionHello fellow Hearthpwn casuals (I'm casual) and pros. I recently decided to start an Asia and EU account on hearthstone and honestly was struck on how building one's card collection can be very challenging as well as frustrating on what card(s) to make first. My goal for the long haul is to have a copy of each card(s) so I don't have worry about what decks I can and can not make BUT for now here are the 5 cards that I found are extremely helpful in the start of a new account/region.
Note: These cards are just opinion and for another players taste may not be as valuable.
The crafting of these cards is also based on two factors: Dust cost and versatility for different deck archetypes.
1. Ironbeak Owl 40 dust, Common. Works well in an assortment of Warlock, Paladin and Hunter decks. A silence for two mana even if you are playing just one is a very strong tech card. The 2/1 body is not much but as said the effect is super strong.
2. Piloted Shredder 40 dust, Common. Works In just about every deck type but is super strong in Mage and Druid. This card not only has decent stats for it mana cost but gives you a variety of secondary minions who can have good stats as well. Don't think about it...it is worth 80 dust I swear. This guy is another reason I find Ironbeak Owl so great to get/create.
3. Big Game Hunter 400 dust, Epic. This card is very tech oriented and works in an array of Warrior, Warlock, Druid and Paladin decks. Since it is a heavy tech card (and costly too), creating 1 is all you need. Three mana for a 4/2 body is ok but the effect it does by killing a 7 Attack minion is an incredible effect for it's cost. This as you know also kills most epics including "Dr. Balance".
4. Knife Juggler 100 dust, Rare. This guy has a nice place for mid-range and Aggro decks making him loved and hated in equal proportion (although I would guess it is more on the hated side). Preforms well in Hunter, warlock and Paladin decks. 3/2 body for two mana is good but the ability to deal 1 damage for every minion you play as long as he stays alive is just insane value.
5. Azure Drake 100 dust, Rare. This card has multiple applications. Works in Rogue, Shaman, Druid, Priest and Mage. It works extremely well in Druid (you would almost think it is a druid card itself). 5 mana for a 4/4 itself would not be great but when you take on the fact that you get this body with a +1 spell damage and drawing a card, well now we are talking. I can see this card very debatable whether it is a necessity to craft or not, I tend to feel it is.
Total dust cost: 960, still 640 less dust for one Legendary card!
I hope this will be helpful for those who are new or are starting a new account in another region. I would also like to add that this list is not in any order of importance and if you want or have a more specific card in mind to craft first then do it. :D What do you think the first cards you should craft are? Please let me know/discuss in the comments below.
special Note: If you are wondering what legendary to craft first yes, you are correct it should be Dr. Boom.
