These forums can be exhausting to read sometimes. I just want a place where I can go and talk about a game I like. Why is it always this polarizing debate about how cards are ruining the experience for everyone else?

 This isn’t supposed to come off as mean, but you were playing the deck when it was bad. So everyone playing it now is just a result of it, well, not being bad anymore. 

A multitude of things resulted in the deck now being good. 

1. Refreshing spring water is broken. The deck has hit a critical mass of card draw. 

2. As for deck of lunacy, a LOT of terrible expensive spells rotated. Deck of lunacy was massively buffed by this rotation. 

3. Finally, with a new year came a new rotation, obviously. The decks of the previous meta no longer exist, decks that destroyed spell mage. 

So you have a combination of many things that pushed spell mage up to the top. The deck is very consistent, does not need lunacy to win, and is even more absurd if you get an early lunacy. 

Even if lunacy gets nerfed to “unplayability,” I still think spell mage is tier 1. It’s just an insane deck even without it. 

 That is the real problem, I don't know how a card like Refreshing Spring Water passed quality control. Wait, quality control? BUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Has anyone else finished 8 after not being able to get good minions? It's happening more often now.

43 rolls and no pogos with only 5 off the pool and staying at level 2... It's not enough that the BS RNG screws you up... This just destroys the little fun you can have in the game... And no other player was playing pogos...

Sure, changing Khadgar removes a lot of the incentive to firewall exploit, but even without that, Pirates and Elementals can benefit substantially from extended turn times.

Simplest answer might be to lower any maximum turn length there is, so that someone who firewall DCs won't get a longer turn than a normal player.

 This is the main problem I have with the hearthstone community. A large number seem absolutely incapable of having any kind of actual discussion. Click on any thread, no matter the subject, & you will see all the same comments.

Very few meaningful comments, if any at all. Just an absolute unwillingness to even attempt to put together a compelling argument. This obviously doesn't apply to everyone, but this is the primary reason I no longer visit the main subreddit at all.

I had to sign up just to vent. I've been at this shitshow since LOE and this game has turned into a total clownfest. It's no longer any fun. As a matter of of fact, I'll go as far as to say it's now a game made for narcissistic assholes. Those are the only people who can have fun with this game in 2020. I've gone from playing about 20 matches a day to a couple every now and then and it's purely out of addiction. I'm going to break that addiction after this post because enough is enough. I'm selling my account and telling Blizzard to play hide and go fuck themselves.

There is absolutely no reason to indulge in a game where you sit there and watch your opponent pull off insane combos, generate cards out of nowhere, mana cheat, etc., and there isn't a fucking thing you can do about it. There was a time when  strategic trading and planning was top priority because the mana system was strict. Now it's just who can be more unfair first. I could get into all of the little details but that's covered by everyone else. The fact of the matter is this game fucking sucks. 

About the game being rigged. Do I think the matches are rigged? No. I've had my fair share of "I top decked the exact card I needed at the exact time I needed it". There is only 30 cards a deck so the odds are not that staggering. However, matchmaking is so rigged it should be obvious to a monkey with an IQ of 3. Go ahead, put that tech card in and you rarely see the deck you're teching against again.

Either way, the game is just not good for people who have a bit of competitive spirit. When you lose knowing full well you did everything right, it's demoralizing. I would find myself fantasizing taking my opponents face after the "well played" and defeat and just punching it over and over again until it was unrecognizable. I never feel that way losing any other game I play against others and I'm talking C.O.D, Madden, Mortal Kombat, etc. Hell, even games like Dark Souls and Nioh are ten times more challenging and yet I enjoy it and keep pushing because at least in those games, it's your fault if you die. Therein lies the difference. Hearthstone punishes you even after understanding the game and playing it good. It just doesn't matter. This is why there is a salt thread that will never die until either the forum and/or game does.

Fuck Hearthstone. It's a toxic game full of toxic players. 

I wish there was an option to turn off animations completely.. But it aint coming because the code would probably break.

A lot of animations in the game could be sped up. Mostly shuffling animations for the Prime cards and Togwaggle's Scheme take the longest.

WTF were Team5 thinking when designed Lightning Bloom for druid? This just makes an already disgusting deck even worse to play against.

It is a bullsh*it because it makes a unfun deck to play against even more highroll and can blast any other deck by turn 4 with just a little bit of luck. Any thoughts?

I have one more observation on this topic. Notice what happened to the Millhouse after his last nerf. He used to be god tier before, now he's average at best. Why such a small change (tavern upgrade costs +1 gold) made such a big difference? Because in BG quality beats quantity and now it's apparent even more than ever before. 

Millhouse allows you to easily flood the board with lots of minions, but if the quantity does not match the quality, at some point (rather quick) your advantage will be diminished. How can you prevent that? Well, you "only" need to get some good rolls...

If RNG is not on your side in BG, then your situation is difficult. If RNG is not on your side AND you play as Millhouse, then your situation is dire, because your re-rolls costs twice as normal and you have 50% less chance of finding what you are looking for. That's obviously critically bad.

In my opinion this proves, that even cheaper minions (which in theory look super strong) cannot compete with tribe synergies and stats stacking from very early turns. In fact, nothing can. And where do those come from? From RNG of course (tavern rolls and sometimes from hero power). Also that's why skill is not critical factor in this game. Yes, it can help, but only if RNG doesn't get in your way. Otherwise, nothing can be done to overcome it.
