Not really, it's just that there are other cards in the set that are utterly pointless unless you have C'Thun. They realise that it would suck to get them without already having it. -

SteezyRen posted a message on Smorc It Up Aggro DruidPosted in: Smorc It Up Aggro DruidOverall experience. It's a fun deck and the games go fast. The biggest weakness to this deck would definitely have to be taunts. You only have 2x Keeper of the Grove to deal with it, otherwise you are swapping minions you can't afford to clear. I also haven't found any positive uses with Fel Reaver but I did run a similar deck like this before. Fel used to be good but with this meta there are a lot of cards that can deal with him and you can't afford to lose cards that get milled from his ability that help determine if you win or lose. For now, I will keep them in deck and see how well they pan out but so far -- not to well.
The good thing about this deck is that minions with deathrattle spawns another minion so you constantly have board presence. The way you want to win is by keeping minions on the board, regardless of what their stats are. It's that moment when you Savage Roar for game that you realize it was worth it.
After around 10 games I decided the Fel Reavers were more annoying than beneficial. With the indicators that showed what I need to win I decided to -2 Fel Reaver +1 Mark of Nature +1 Deathlord. Reason being, I lose being I am out aggro'd and Deathlord will slow them down at such a minimal cost to me. Mark of Nature will also taunt any minion I can afford to die if it means I don't die, or will be the extra damage I could use for lethal.
vs Mage: 3-0
First match up I destroyed a mage before even knowing what kind of deck it was. In my defense, I had the perfect opening hand with coin, Living Roots, Knife Juggler, and Leper Gnome. This deck can be really fun. Something I can see wrong with it is losing tempo to a frost mage or not keeping up with zoo/aggro paladin.
Second game was against a mech mage and decided to keep two Living Roots in my hand which probably took potential from getting a better card if mulligan. I was down to 5 hp and it was my turn with 9 mana and aShade of Naxxramas at 7/7. I won with Force of Nature and Savage Roar easily overkilling him.
Opening hand was alright. After mulligan I was left with Living Roots and my Force Roar combo.. meaning I had jack shit. Turn 3, I used Innervate to play Fel Reaver. Keep in mind, this is the 2nd time in 8 games that I actually got to play this and it happened to be against a mage who milled the shit out of me. Learned my lesson. Flamewaker was the most annoying card to go against but I eventually took both of his down with silences. Eventually, it came to an easy win with Savage Roar.
vs Priest: 0-1
With just 1 dmg away from being lethal I was so close to winning and then everything went downhill. The taunts and the heals made a comeback for the priest and I ended up losing, knowing I was 1 dmg from lethal .... my unfortunately luck seemed never ending as the card I needed to topdeck was Innervate so I can hero power with Force Roar to compensate for that one damage I was missing. Oh well ...
vs Hunter: 1-3
The beauty of this hunter deck I played against was that it was a face hunter. With some occasional minion swaps I ended up having more board presence. Easy win.
I definitely could've won this game but I felt that RNG was not in my favor. On a plus note, hunters don't usually get as lucky as this one did. He used Sir Finley Mrrgglton to get the armor up hero power which is the only reason why he won. I wasn't topdecking the last card I needed to win and his board progressively got stronger than mine which helped him keep my board clean. I don't think hunters are that serious of a threat as this one got really lucky. I should've had him. Next time ...
Opening hand was beautiful. Knife Juggler and 2x Druid of the Saber definitely was good to have. His first drop happened to have been Mad Scientist which eventually lead to Explosive Trap. That alone definitely slowed down my board presence. [cardSir Finley Mrrgglton[/card] was my 3rd drop and with either heal, armor, or totem I decided to go for totem since it can come in handy with savage roar. Eventually, everything went downhill. Secrets being constantly played is the reason I lost.
Dammit. Again, 2nd turn dropping a Mad Scientist. Turn one I dropped my Shade of Naxxramas using Innervate so I can build that bad boy up. Of course the mad scientist pulls an Explosive Trap which has been the kryptonite to my startup board. Then another scientist comes out with another explosive trap. GG, I pretty much loss. I am struggling to hold board pressure while face hunter is going to town.
vs Warrior: 3-0
Opening hand had Living Roots and [card]Darnassus Aspirant[/card] which allowed me some early tempo. By turn two after I played Darnassus it obviously died immediately cause warriors have damn weapons. Warriors will keep beating your minions with weapons which helps you and hurts you. Thankfully, most of your minions summons another when they die so you will have that constant board presence. Turn 6 I drew my second Savage Roar and with 2 tree sapplings, Piloted Shredder and a random minion from my other piloted that he meleed down I was able to do enough damange for the win.
I calculated throughout this entire match at what point I would have lethal. This warrior was a face warrior and decided to keep my minions on board. Since he failed to finish my off with 4 minions of mine on board, leaving me with 3 hp, and not attacking a single one of my minions I was able to Savage Roar 21 damage for game.
Easy game. Nothing too exciting about this but warriors tend to not be able to keep up with this deck.
vs Warlock 1-1
I love playing against warlock. They make think their zoo is good against this deck but all they are doing is constantly dealing damage to themselves drawing extra cards or playing Flame Imp. Imp Gang Boss thought it was helping board presence until I Swipe to the face lol. Overall, I only won cause I topdecked my Force Roar combo when he had stronger board presence. Fortunately, warlocks are notorious for dealing damage to themselves so I barely had to do anything.
I hate going first. Coin definitely helps. Fortunately, my opening hand after mulligan was Leper Gnome and Knife Juggler -- cards needed to keep momentum in my favor. I wasn't expecting this warlock to run a Darkbomb so he was able to get rid of my juggler easily. Used Sir Finley Mrrgglton to get hunter hero power which is the bane of warlocks. HOWEVER, I did lose this match up. The second he dropped molten giants and taunted them I knew it was over. Taunts are the bane of this deck.

Seeing your winrate against Druids and comparing it to mine i suppose i must be doing something wrong in the mirror. I removed 1 Scales for the DK and Aya for a Savage Roar. Any other class rarely stand a chance against the deck, except for those Priests snowballing with Yshaarj. Maybe i should try one Strongshell Scavenger or play a bit more after reading the entire article, which i haven't read before.

Looks like the cheapest deck for me right now. Been away from the game for almost a year, i only opened the MSG packs from the quests, but i'll be patient with the rares and commons, although i may have to craft Aya and Patches. Sounds like a good deck to come back to HS.

Golden Zerus, one of the few legendaries that i wanted.

Deathlord has been a pain for me in this last week. It's funny because last year i could classify him as a bad card, almost like Fel Reaver, but he's a good card now, maybe because Priests are not afraid to play it on turn 3 anymore. When i'm using Druid and can finally kill it, it will bring a Shade if it is turn 5 and a big minion if it's turn 6, haha. Happened with every Priest in the last week, but i'm not mad at the class or the card, just sharing the most influent factor that is denying my climb.
Rank 5 again, 6 days left... I'm losing hope, so i guess it's time to experiment with some inner fire Priest.

That hand animation is so suggestive...

I came here to post almost the same thing, except for that aggro part. Varian played with my feelings, the hype was so real that after getting him from a pack i was absolutely fine if no more legendaries decided to show up. I only used him once... In casual... So sad. :(

12-0 with the deck without any difficulty. You must be a master deck builder or this bunch of cards together just works perfectly.
My changes: - 2 Dancing Swords + 2 BGH ( killed 2 Eerie Statues :P )

I'm a proud owner of a golden version of this card.

Ahá! This is the deck that i ended up facing minutes ago. When i saw Gnomish Inventor and Explosive Sheep i knew... It was him, spreading the cure to mages.
The surprise factor in my game was the duplicate secret, because i was totally confident about an Ice Block and then... 2 more Renos for him. At first i thought it would be very problematic to finish the game, but i got the mage in a situation where he could not clear my board and play Reno at the same time, so... Easy game, right? Nope, surprise again! His last move was Molten Giant, Reno and Sunfury. After this i must consider myself very luck for still being able to win that game. In fact, i recognize that i had the perfect cards to aswer his last resistance; a reduced cost BGH, the combo and minions on board to deal exactly 31 damage.
Anyway, even disliking the longer games i must give credit to this deck, the control is insane. Thumbs up!
