Twitchy posted a message on Priest Legendary Reveal: Raza the ChainedPosted in: NewsI like the design but when is Riot going to stop giving a class nothing but trash cards, followed by stupidly overpowered cards in the next expansion to compensate?
Last year they did it with Shaman. And since Warlock is only getting trash cards this expansion I'm calling it now for next year: 4 mana 7/7 Demon with "deal 3 damage to your hero"

Twitchy posted a message on Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Community CompendiumPosted in: NewsI'm pretty damn sure that Aya Blackpaw is going to be the best card of the expansion, by a very long shot.
If you play just 4 Jade Golems before her you're looking at a total of 30 stats packed in 1 card for just 6 mana. Which Druids can probably pull off pretty reliably as early as turn 6. That's even better than Dr. Boom...

Twitchy posted a message on Hearthstone Sets Take 8 Months to Design - Also, Blizzard is Hiring a New Hearthstone DesignerPosted in: NewsFfs guys, so many people complaining about how the Hearthstone designers are 'too stupid to see that a card is broken'...
Remember when everybody thought Dr. Boom and Antique Healbot would be BAD, but Enhance-O-Mechano and Troggzor would be GOOD?
Hmm yeah... Seems like it's not that easy to predict if a card will be good enough (not counting stuff like 4 mana 7/7's, which are obviously meant to buff a weak class).

Kovachut posted a message on Shaman is going to rule next expansion!Posted in: ShamanLol people,
as much as I respect warrior as a class, you can't deny, that shaman is the one that needs tons of support more than everyone else. To the people defending warrior - yes, evolve shaman was a high tier deck, capable of helping you reach legend, but it was actually 1) the only viable option throughout the whole Year of the Mammoth (everything else was super fair to play against), 2) one-dimensional and 3) easily counterable. Secondly, warrior had 2 very competitive decks before mid KOFT (Quest and the infamous PW), while evolve shaman slowly started losing popularity the more the control decks became stronger. Thirdly, please look at the sets of the last two expansions for both shaman and warrior and tell me again which class had it bad. It gets worse by the fact, that all of the useful cards in shaman will be rotated out, leaving more questions and gaps, which need to be answered.
About the state of shaman in the next expansion - I kinda feel optimistic about that, because I also expect to see good cards being introduced, but shaman players have to hope to get something really godlike within a single set, in order to overcome the class' weaknesses. While warrior needs a good early-game weapon and maybe another board clear/removal, shaman needs a lot more support in the form of card draw options, bigger AoEs/removals, better early-game and just power turns overall. If you ask me, because shaman got so many bad cards from the previous two expansions, the class may suffer the same fate as warlock did back in Un'Goro - not necessary the one about how warlock was the weakest class of all, but about how it had class identity issues. Inb4 I know it's too early to talk about such a thing, w/o seeing the whole card set first, but those thoughts go through my mind from time to time.

That's a whole standard rotation when the new one comes out!

icy133_ posted a message on Worst designed cardsPosted in: General DiscussionStill have the shudder hate train a-rolling huh?
For me it's definitely Tunnel Trogg, it's a one drop that is essential to kill or it gets out of control. It's like mana worm except it gains more attack from most shaman cards which are overload. Blizzard fucked up there, worst meta.

AProudMurloc posted a message on Worst designed cardsPosted in: General DiscussionI hate the design of explosive runes. With kabal lackey in wild mages get it out by turn 1 or 3 with kirin tor mage, and its good no matter when its played, not to mention it's discoverable. If its early, my hero will take a good amount of damage, if its late game, my lich king or other high healthed minion has maybe 3 health left because of explosive runes, a 3 mana card. There is NO mage deck out there that is not running the card, that's how good it is. It's literally the Kobold Librarian of mage class imo, it will always be in every mage deck even after rotation(unless it gets nerfed, of course)Let's not forget that if you put a divine shield minion, your hero still takes damage from the card. It is just honestly a bullshit card and makes face/aggro mage as strong as it is and just a terrible experience to play against for me.

br0zi posted a message on Worst designed cardsPosted in: General DiscussionWhat does everyone think the worst card design ever is? In my opinion poorly designed cards are either: Super RNG based, blatantly over-powered, design-limiting, game-breaking or unfun to play against.
With this in mind, I think the worst designed card ever is shudderwock because it is extremely limiting to future card design. It is unfun to play against, and it broke the game with the 20 minute battlecry.
Some other horrible card designs are drakonid operative (overpowered as hell), jade idol (game-breaking / overpowered), yogg-saron (RNG).
On the other hand some of the best designed cards in my opinion are N'zoth and all of the death knights.

25, I really didn't like the last meta so I was really late for saving up gold for packs. I'm usually satisfied with whatever cards I get just from the gold saved so I've never really preordered an expansion.

Art looks real, and hearthstoney. Shaman legendary seems in line with what Mike Donais stated. If this is true then this goes straight into my wild N'zoth shaman, and the only battlecries I have in my deck are N'zoth, stonehills, and Hagatha

One thing that I just realized, is that with this card, Hallazeal the Ascended could actually be really good in shaman control decks again (in wild ofc). He saw a little play in control shaman from WotOG to around the beginning of Ungoro, and with Hagatha generating more spells to use with him, he becomes a lot more useful. He was difficult to build around since while cards like EleD are powerful with him, he wasn't powerful enough to use up a cardslot simply on the basis that it would synergize with Hallazeal.
But now we can get tons of spells that we don't have to sacrifice a cardslot for, most of which can synergize with Hallazeal. You still might want to save him up for a big EleD turn, but you also have the option to use him with one of your many other cards if possible. It adds more flexibility and it gives you more reasons than just a few select board clears to play Hallazeal in your deck.

It looks like they just... copied Chromaggus's effect but limited it to minions. I mean, on first glance yeah it looks really powerful, but I'm still kind of disappointed. Couldn't they have done something a little bit new?

A powerful late game win condition (which I'm hoping we get with Hagatha). Also hoping for some more deathrattle synergy. The Reincarnate effect has been criminally underused.

I think so. Apparently every class is getting two legendaries as usual, but only shaman's getting a new hero card. I think that means that we're gonna see several of the past legendary types distributed among the rest of the classes.

I admit I may have giggled like a 5-year old when this happened.
