I feel you, worst thing imo is that it’s a one card win the game play. I feel like those are more and more prevalent. They just ruin the game, you’re dealing with all their threats and then they play one card and they win…… it’s just a no brainer to play it too. I have no problem with OTK decks that need like 4 or 5 cards to work. Those take time to build up and you can counter them. This feels like the quest mage era where they were just playing with theirselves. 

Quest priest is so dumb…. Either they luck on rng and you can’t win that matchup with all their healing and huge removal or they don’t draw the cards they need and you just win against a guy who ropes for 8 turns straight…. Doesn’t feel like it matters what I do against it, if they luck on draw I lose if they don’t luck on draw I can literally just play whatever and win…

stupidest games I’ve played are against that shitdeck…

Now it’s an autoinclude in almost every deck. There are no downsides to playing it. Make it a 10 cost or give it battlecry ‘you can’t play a card on your next turn’ or something that makes it have a drawback for including it in your deck. 
at least Mutanus the Devourer is a 7 cost that is a blind pick you can sortoff counter by not playing all your minions.

I can only imagine they made it cuz they ffed up with creating too many cards that you have to counter while still in the hand of the other player

 So I agree with the first part (autoinclude in most decks) and the fact that it's a terrible design. I don't think it has no downside though.  A 4 mana 3/3 is terrible tempowise, and you also have to give them one of your cards.  The latter can sometimes (though rarely) be game defining while the former makes hime a terrible card to have in hand against any aggro deck *cough* implock *cough*.

The current meta demands he be included in pretty much every non-aggro deck though, so that's just the way it is sadly.  I run him, Mutanus and Shadow Hunter Vol'jin in my priest deck because it needs as much disruption as possible to have any chance against the other decks.

It's honestly quite absurd (given all the BS "fk you, I win" stuff in Hearthstone wild right now) that a comparatively tame card powerlevel wise like Daniel (a.k.a. Sire Denathrius, it's just my stupid nickname for the card, don't bother) is destroying my will to play the game relatively quickly.

Let me explain:

I should preface by saying that I loathe the direction that lategame winconditions are going, we are moving further and further away from the (WAY more fun imo) "deal with this" winconditions like:
Hadronox
Deathstalker Rexxar
N'Zoth, the Corruptor
or even the quadruple Mind Blast dealing 22 dmg (max and once per game) in a turn thanks to Shadowreaper Anduin and Shadow Visions
that, while powerful, gave the opponent a way to react so you had to either bait the opponent's answers, get them low enough or have other plans in case these were dealt with like (for example) elemental mage had Frost Lich Jaina to try to "outgrind" the opponent if all the most powerful elementals were dealt with in some way (the most important thing being that even these "backup wincons" were not a guaranteed win in the slightest)

and we are getting pushed deeper and deeper down the (shit)hole of "good luck lol" winconditions like Kazakusan that may not say "win the game" directly but like...come on...you have to be an irl rat to lose from there...or gigantic (25/30 dmg and upwards) burst cards like a well "built" and "Branned up" Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable.

On top of that OTK/mill/infinite decks and disruption cards are just as unfun to face AND play as always. Pretty bad right?

Well surprisingly, thanks to the prevalence of aggro in wild that keeps these last 4 playstyles/cards somewhat (can't stress this word enough) in check, I was able to have some fun b4 Castle Nathria released and even find the rare (quite rare sadly) enjoyable deck to face from time to time so (while nowhere near a healthy metagame) overall I had seen WAY worse so I was looking forward to the expansion MAYBE making things better.

However something changed shortly after Nathria dropped:
Most toxic decks stayed the same, most aggro decks stayed the same, disruption became even more common (and toxic) because of Theotar, the Mad Duke but overall it looked like the situation was going to be bad, yes, but not too tragic so...a repeat of how it was b4 the expantion...until I met my first Hadronox druid. Now...I was playing my (stupid) version of questline shaman that uses the doubled up spells to be able to clear basically any board and Hagatha the Witch to...Idk do some BS and hopefully win (it's actually REALLY fun when you don't get OTK/mill/infinite'd to death) and it had already proven to be able to confortably run several big priests out of threats without transform effects b4 (granted...only if I completed the quest quicky enough) so I was pretty confident going in. The game goes on and my opponent had a version that used Wildheart Guff, Hedge Maze and Carnivorous Cube to play (and destroy) Hadronox an ungodly amount of times, however due to how I built my deck (and a small amount of highrolling) I had managed to run him out of threats completely and the game had been fun but (in my head) it was already mine...and then he played a 60 damage NO-BRANN Daniel and blasted my soul into the loving embrace of Nurgle (if you're not familiar with Warhammer fantasy/40k lore this may make no sense, look it up if you're curious). Then the exact same scenario kept happening where EVERY deck that I could even remotely consider fun to play against would either win via threats (the acceptable, fun way) or get ALL their threats dealt with and then just go "lol here's 60 dmg to face thx for the free stars".

So now I'm starting to lose hope...not only are the stupid OTK/mill/infinite decks STILL a real, almost prevalent force in the metagame, only kept in check by "all out aggression" decks but also all the decks I used to really enjoy playing against (rare as the may be) now run a free 50/60 dmg OTK button with Daniel. I am currently in a state where I love seeing big priests and pirate rogues as my opponents just because with them I know I'm not facing something else so yea...not ideal.

I've recently found out that many people hate him as well (for slightly different reasons) and that he seems to be overperforming (in standard at least) so...how likely do you think a "infuse 2" or "enemy minions" style nerf is?

If anyone wonders why Paladin sucks at the moment: I just had about 10 turns in a row with always 1-3 giant minions on the board, but none of them got a single attack through against the Mage opponent. Location, Location, Flurry, Location, Location, Blizzard, Flurry, Location and so on, and so on.

As long as freeze exits in this ubiquity, board based decks and classes won't stand a chance.

I'd prefer if the card didn't need to exist.

Anyone else think this game fees like a coin toss now?  Did you streal their win con. ?  You win - did they steal yours?  You lose?

Blizzard need to get rid of OTK from hand and the disruption they've introduced to to try and control it.  It's not fun, there's no skill involved and it makes the game shit.

No it doesn't, there is nothing to alter at all. Either you hit an important piece with theotar or you don't, it's all RNG, and in most control/combo decks all cards are important so you're going to hit something regardless. How am I supposed to alter anything when you steal on turn 4 my 8-9-10 mana card that my plan revolves around.

Mutanus has untargeted effect and can only hit minions. You're right Theotar isn't different, it is simply better.

No you don't, if you play Theotar in a deck where he can take away your best card/win condition, you're playing it in the wrong deck. In the right deck you can absolutely play it whenever you want and never have to care what card you give to your opponent. But it's the actual proof that Theotar isn't balanced, if even slow combo decks play the card, it's strong enough to risk ruining your game plan for it, it is that strong, stronger than Mutanus will ever be.

Theotar is really strong, but I don't find it to be a card that's breaking the game by any means. It counters combo decks or decks that revolve around a single win condition, which historically have been nearly impossible to counter. I don't see anything wrong with that. 

There is nothing wrong with thatn except that your statement is incorrect in that decks that revolve around a single win condition have historically always been the easiest to counter, don't know what you're sniffing or what game you're playing but it's not Hearthstone, the more win conditions the better, always. What's wrong is it also counters plenty of other decks that don't deserve to be countered by a brain dead on curve play on turn 4 giving you the shitting coin. Dirty rat can lose you the game instantly. Mutanus is blind and can hit nothing or bad minions. They both reward actual skill. Theotar has virtually no weakness and rewards bad players. If this card was balanced, only hyper aggro and hard control decks would play him. 

Playing against Theotar feels like playing against a lucky Mutanus that hits exactly the minion you didn't want stolen despite your active plan to keep 10 minions in your hand to stop that from happening, but it feels that way every single time Theotar is played, as opposed to Mutanus which requires extreme luck if you play around him.

I thought this card would be fun to stop degenerate decks in the Wild meta, but then people started playing it against me and my less degenerate decks. Doesn't even have to hit your actual win condition, since everything in Hearhstone is about synergy, if they hit an important card from your kit, you're done, you fall too far behind.

It's like Mutanus, probably a necessary card, but just awful to play against, not fun at all, and it's nearly impossible to play around it, so it's actually worse than Mutanus, which has some value and rewards skill for both players. Theotar does not.

I don't think this assessment is accurate. Yes, getting your quest reward stolen feels bad, but then you were countered. What if instead of Theo, you played Mutanus and munched Xyrella?

The meta gets stale if there are no options to counterplay, if it's a pure rock-paper-scissors and the match is decided when it's found.

You were countered? Your whole deck got counterspelled by one card. You think that's fun and interactive? The game should be played on the board. Plenty of design space for counterplay there. Of course it doesn't help that these fools keep making cards like Denathrius that have to be countered before they're even played. Powerful wincon cards like Mecathun, Xyrella (quest reward), Denathrius, Jace, etc. shouldn't take over the game but there should be some room for people to play decks that revolve around a single card. These decks shouldn't be driven out of existence by one card. People play Relic DH in large part because they want to have a chance to pop off with the Artificer Xy'mox. They make a deck revolving around Topior the Shrubbagazzor because they want to play him and have fun making shrub whelps. The list goes on. Theotar steals the fun from these decks. It steals time too because by playing it you just made that person completely waste 10 minutes of their life because you just counterspelled their whole deck. Counterplay exists in Hearthstone in the form of tech cards. This is a step too far.

 If theotar single handedly discourages you from playing these decks then you are severely overreacting. 

Artificer Xymox being stolen from my hand 50% of the time he's there isn't a reason to be discouraged from playing that deck? Not only is it good reason, it's reason to be discouraged from putting any card in your deck that makes you vulnerable. It completely warps the entire game.

I just stole quest reward Xyrella with him. That opponent just completely wasted those minutes of his life. It did not feel good. Because I understood how incredibly discouraging that was for him. This card is going to just make people stop playing a number of decks that get destroyed by him. And then the meta will be incredibly stale once it settles. He'll be in every deck and every deck will be built around him. And everyone will feel like shit.
