We kinda already had the mechanic with cards like Icehowl, so I think it's another case of refactoring a mechanic into a single keyword for convenience, kind of like how cards with Lifesteal and Posonous existed before we had the official keyword

Icehowl is actually worse than Rush, because you can NEVER attack heroes with Icehowl.
Ah, good point; I should have picked a better example. I seem to recall a few cards that have charge but can't attack heroes the turn they're played; just not remembering them off the top of my head.

Built a Warrior deck just for laughs and instant board clears with Whirlwind. Also decided to run Prince Malchezaar for some extra legendaries. Turn one topdecked Alexstrasza. GG so much skill.

Congrats! I've been having loads of fun with this deck (though not exactly consistent success, but that's my own fault), so I'm glad to see you were able to pilot it to the top. Indeed, there is always hope for innovation! Thank you for providing ample demonstration of that fact. Here's to more fun, original decks in the future!

And also, one can never have too much Justice.

posted a message on Any Tips For Ranking?

For starters, listen to what Toymachine said above, especially the first tip (this is something I still need to work on myself.) Thinking through plays is super important, since even having big, crunchy legendaries won't save you if you play them sub-optimally (and seriously, you have some sweet legendaries...<jealous>)

Also, I think a big part of it is finding a deck that makes sense to you and that you feel you can play consistently in a wide variety of situations. Usually the way to do this is to start by building around cards you have and going from there. Since you have Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Cabalist's Tome, and Ice Block, you might start out playing a mage deck of some sort. Use the most solid cards you have (there's no shame in using a Chillwind Yeti if you have to; it has good stats) and sub them out when you get something better. Try to fill the deck with good stat minions, include a decent balance of removal, AoE, and card draw, and make sure you have a good curve. As stated above, play this deck a lot until it feels right (and if you notice it falls short in one particular area, try subbing in a different card).

Also, a lot of interesting/good cards come from adventures, so make sure not to neglect doing your daily quests for gold, since this will allow you to purchase some more decent cards. Of course, if you're flush with funds, just fork over for them and get the cards faster :3 Tavern brawls tend to be good for this, since often they pre-build the deck for you and you can just focus on winning the game. I'm told arena is a good way to farm gold/cards, but I can't confirm from personal experience.

Feel free to disregard as much of the above as needed; I'm sure I said plenty of things you already know, but hopefully some of what was said will be helpful. Best of luck!

posted a message on Summoning Stone: I Am Not Even Joking

Before Yogg-Saron, Hope's End (whom I don't yet have) was removed, I subbed in Arch-Thief Rafaam for some late game fun and profit. I had one enjoyable match in which I picked Mirror of Doom off of him, flooded the board, and promptly Innervated Power of the Wild. I will be curious to try the deck with Barnes since I don't yet have Fandral Staghelm. Seriously fun deck, and, like the Spanish Inquisition, no one expects it.

posted a message on Ben Brode Asks: What Does the Community Desire to Hear From Developers
    Quote from eiopqrtuwy >>

Don't worry so much about future speculations, we can do plenty of that, on our own, with or without vague half-announcements. Simply report on the past and present development of Hearthstone:  Post statistics, info-graphics, pick rates, win rates, player trends, etc.  Justify your actions AND inactions, with actual data, AS you decide on them.  Prove that you're doing your job(s) as designers competently, with data driven, due diligence, and that you actually have the players best interest at heart.

^^This. Data would be tremendously helpful, as well as just plain fun to see. It would be great to be able to put numbers to relative popularity of certain cards, global trends in class win-rates, or which cards are usually played together in the same deck. We have this kind of data for HotS courtesy of HotSLogs, but that's a community-provided service. Perhaps some clever programmer will release something like this for HS soon so we can have more insight, but it would be helpful if we got to see some of the analytics that the HS dev team run when they make decisions. For now, we can get at some of this through HearthStats, but it would be helpful if the devs could supplement their posts with data to illustrate their thought process more clearly.

posted a message on New Card - Twilight Elder

It definitely soaks damage even in decks that don't run C'Thun, since you can psyche your opponent into thinking you are running it simply by playing this, and they'll try to remove it ASAP. And, as many have mentioned, it has perfectly respectable stats anyway.

posted a message on Help with my Mech Rogue deck?

I've been having loads of fun running Mech Rogue myself, and I must say, your deck is what mine would like to grow up to be once I've collected a few more cards. Just a thought: I might consider replacing Thaurissan with a different legendary if possible; mech decks tend to lean aggro and thus have cheaper cards that don't benefit as much from the Thaurissan discount, leading to the temptation to spam a bunch of cards in one turn and then wind up top-decking. Once you grind up enough gold to get Kel'Thuzad, I would imagine he might be a possibility, since you'll likely have lots of minions on the board at once, making his necromantical powers rather useful.

Also, I'm no pro, so take all of that with a grain of salt. Or twenty.
