I'm not being funny but OP is actually right, I'm watching Savjz on stream play against it and it's absolutely ridiculous, stream is going crazy.

So ya... I don't mind exodia win conditions. Quest mage was fun to play against even.... but holy moly is Shudderwock a different kinda of cancer. Did they even play test it!?! It ropes you and keeps casting battlecrys on your turn... this is going to be a long two years of hearthstone....

Quote from hillandder >>Play 5 games in Wild now, all of them vs warlocks, the variation is full demons with old and new cheat manas to put big demons in play or Reno/Kazakus version.
Not only half of the classes are dead in Standard because for some reason Blizzard don't nerf the insanity warlock become but Wild become just unplayable too.
I play this game for years, I see all types of broken decks ruining the game, hunters draw many cards with 2 manas Buzz, MC in every match, midrange shaman Tier 0, CotW 8 manas, druid after release KFN before nerfs, pirate warrior, etc...
But none of this decks have the consistent draw/healing/removal/insane tempo and value plays warlock have now.
And, for the worse part, not even a small sign Blizzard will do something about it...

never once have I been interested in custom card creations. I am actually kind of annoyed at how many card competitions and things there are. I just wanna know why somebody would put all this time and energy into something that isnt going to be put into the game? is there an underground server or something where you all get to play these cards? seriously WHY?

I know this really is an irrelevant topic......but I still think we have a right to know. I am a Statistician by trade, with over 15 years of experience crunching p-values and t-tests. So I decided to run a statistics experiment to test my theory. I would encourage anyone to repeat my experiment and see if you get similar result.
Procedure: I climbed to Rank 5 using a Pally Murloc Deck. I rapidly ascended to this rank, and then, of course, ran into the Void Lord and Cubelocks. Earlier than rank 5, I got a fairly even mix of opponents, but because the Cubelock is dominating right now, I expected to see more of them at the higher ranks. So......I changed one card in my deck. ONE CARD. I swapped out a knife juggler for a Defias Cleaner to get an extra silence tech. I was already running 2 spellbreakers, so this card had no purpose other than to silence a voidlord.
I immediately noticed the ladder was not facing me against cubelocks anymore. Since I couldn't lose stars at that rank, I started a game, and if it wasn't a warlock, I just conceded. It literally took me 17 games to even face a warlock.......and the deck was a ZOO build....NOT Cubelock. It took me 26 concessions to find a cubelock to go against.....because I changed one card to counter that deck,
I repeated that experiment every 3 hours.....just to allow some new players to come on and off.
I used 26 matches as my standard candle. (No pun unintended)
Trial 1 : 3.8% chance of facing cubelock
Trial 2: 4.0% chance of facing cubelock
Trial 3: 4.2% chance of facing cubelock
Average: With deck holding 3 silences, instead of 2.....the chance of facing cubelock was 4.0%
OPPOSITION EXPERIMENT:
I took the Defias Cleaner out, and put my knife juggler back in.
Again standard candle of 26 games at Rank 5:
Trial 1: 73.2 % chance of facing cubelock
Trial 2: 57.6% chance of facing cubelock
Trial 3: 69.2% chance of facing cubelock
Average 66.6% chance of facing cubelock.
Remember, this is a sampling of over 150 games, 75 WITH a 3rd Silence (No Cubelocks), and 75 with only 2 Silences (Many Cubelocks)
By changing ONE card in my deck, the likelihood that I would face the deck it was DESIGNED to beat went down by a factor of 4.5. When I removed that one card, the likelihood I would face that same deck went UP by a factor of 4.
As a further test, I took out a card and added a Ravenholdt Assassin, which has the same stats as a Defias Cleaner, but no silence. I saw ZERO change in the amount of cubelocks I was facing with the card, but did only run one trial.
So right now, Pally, Priest, and Warlock, and hunter are the classes to beat. You would think you would see them on average every four games, with a couple randoms thrown in.
But based on switching out ONE card.....and running hundreds of trials I found my chance of facing a cubelock DROPPED 62% when I put in a tech card to counter it. One Single Card.....the Defias Cleaner.
I implore someone to recreate my experiment. If Blizzard is fudging the latter, we need to know about it.

Did you by any chance record those statistics using HSDecktracker or a similar software? Seems like you put a lot of effort into this, but it seems odd that you're not really presenting any proof.

I am a Doctor by trade, with over 15 years of experience curing colds and using band aids. So I decided to run a Medicine Experiment to test my theory because yes, I definitely am very much a real doctor
Screenshots? Deck tracker? Sampling error? Z scores, null hypotheses, alpha level, significance test output, etc? 15 years experience lol

Quote from OriginalPerly >>No need to remove a card that doesn't need to be removed. I think just about everyone who ever played a mage deck has used Ice Block at some stage. It is a last stand card, that is exactly what it is supposed to do.
I don't see the problem. If it were a stupid power level of corridor creeper (pre nerf) maybe but quite what makes this 1 card so unfathomably unfair is beyond me.

You speak of cancer, yet mention mech but not exodia or freeze?!

Hey we get one ticket for free, there's literally NOTHING to complain about. Make it as far as you can with the free ticket, all what you gain are 100% profits.
That's what i'll do, just use my free ticket and i'm out. No matter 0 wins, or 12 wins, everything i get is fine. And the rewards, even for 0 wins, are actually HIGHER than the regular brawls, so great.

4 legendaries in 90 packs, my worst pack opening since i started playing the game. Also, got The Runespear as my free weapon, literally the worst weapon. Absolutely dissapointed with my pack opening.

I usually never choose "Dust it!", but for this one i did.

Some Spellstones are meant to be good, some are meant to be bad, and some are meant to be memes.
It's like that with every card.
Warlock is getting trash legendaries while also getting good commons and rares. Others get better legendaries and trash commons/rares.
Hunter got pretty bad cards so far, it was about time it got a good one, and the spellstone is just that, a good card for a sub-par archetype like Secret Hunter, or an acceptable archetype like Midrange Hunter with a couple secrets. It's not that Hunter is a powerhouse currently anyway.

I KNEW there would be a way to cheat Voidlord out. YES!!

I already see it. Warlock weapon:
5 mana 0/5: "Your demons cost three (3) less. Lose one durability when you summon a demon".

I currently have 1200 gold and 9k dust. I've preordered every expansion, but im not sure about this one.
My problem is, i usually play for a couple weeks until the next broken shit appears, then ppl start abusing it, i get tilted and burnt out and leave the game. However, i also think if you 'skip' one of the expansions, you pretty much leave the game because all expansions have staple cards that you'll use, either now or in future.
The cost of the game is starting to seem a bit high for me, especially considering i play for 2-3 weeks and usually leave for a couple months. I have quite a good collection, but i feel i'll be too much behind if i skip this one. However, i used to spend 90-110 euros on each xpac (preorder plus 40/60 pack bundle) which guaranteed often all commons and rares, and a good amount of epics and legendaries, but i'm not sure the time i spend playing justifies that money anymore.
