This seems fair. It won't end the use of Bonemare at all, but it will prevent massive swings by a turn... I guess.

posted a message on Wouldn't it be great if ranked play allowed us to ban a deck?

I wish they had options like this in casual. What I'd give to be able to avoid Cubelock. I don't even mind playing Warlocks generally, just this one demoralizing deck. Well, maybe Raza priest too.

What about an option where you could not play against any deck with certain cards? That is, you can "ban" certain cards from your casual match ups. Easy picks - Raza and Voidlord. My life just became 100x more fun in casual.

posted a message on Oh Captain, my Captain...

If aggro decks don't get early value they can't compete. This combo, while powerful, is "fair" in my view. Because otherwise you can't do enough early damage to compete with the very powerful long-term game decks that exist.

Even when the rotation happens in April, I assume Blizzard will introduce something similar. Aggro is always going to be a thing. It must have tools to make it viable.

posted a message on What is your all-time most HATED card?

Currently I can't stand Corridor Creeper. And I use it too. But it swings games based on nonsense.  Have one, or two of them, in your hand to start? You can suddenly drop 5/5s at turn 3 . It's ridiculous.

HOW TECH CARDS WORK IN HEARTHSTONE:

    1. Lost to 3 secret mages in a row, changed spellbreaker to eater of secrets, started another game against warlock - concede.

    2. Facing 2 warlocks after the first game, and switched to spellbreaker again - face Razakus. Concede.

    3. Put in 2 dirty rats after second game - play against tempo rogue, dirty rat pulls out a bonemare - concede.

    ...

    4. Switch to anti-aggro tech - play against jade druid........

    5. Play the same deck, put skulking geist in the deck along with spellbreaker, eater of secrets and dirty rat. Got rekt by pirate warrior..............................................................................................

Man, did this make me LOL.  I feel your pain my friend.

posted a message on Does anyone enjoy the ladder anymore?

    https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-77/

The data is in.  Warlock and Priest are the top two classes.  Rogue is in third.

Paladin has crashed hard. Aggro Paladin does not appear to be competitive at the upper reaches of the ladder.

    Warrior and Shaman are afterthoughts.

It's really unfortunate that Blizzard allows - or intentionally designs? - one or two classes to dominate the game.

Hello everyone. I want to tell you a story. This is my first post on this forum and i appreciate the opportunity to share my "fun and interactive" experiences i made today with you. I hit Legend a couple times and since the current Meta is the most boring one ever in my opinion i decided to just do my daily quest in Casual Mode.

For some people, myself included, it is fun to play a good old home-brewed deck, something creative you know and i think that Casual Mode is the right place to go for that. "You better think again monkey, you better think again."

Probably it is nothing new to all of you. You try something different in Casual Mode, you play decent, you don't BM your opponent but your only reward for creativity is the "BM Emote Fiesta" of your opponent when he / she realizes that he / she has won. After an hour of losing to one T1 deck after another i saw myself forced to play the same boring T1 decks in order to finish my daily quest. Shame on me.

Now we come to the part where it got interesting and the actual reason for my post. What happened today was nothing new to be honest but i never experienced it in this magnitude.

[Me] Razakus Priest : [Opponent] Aggro Paladin with perfect draws SMOrced me into oblivion

[Me] Razakus Priest : [Opponent] Aggro Paladin with perfect draws SMOrced me into oblivion

[Me] Razakus Priest : [Opponent] Aggro Paladin with perfect draws SMOrced me into oblivion

[Me] Jade Druid : [Opponent] Control Mage with Skulking Geist on Turn 6

[Me] Jade Druid : [Opponent] Control Mage with Skulking Geist on Turn 6

[Me] Jade Druid : [Opponent] Control Mage with Skulking Geist on Turn 6

[Me] Cube Warlock : [Opponent] Burn Mage with perfect draws

[Me] Cube Warlock : [Opponent] Burn Mage with perfect draws

[Me] Cube Warlock : [Opponent] Burn Mage with perfect draws

Long story short. No matter what deck i chose, my deck got countered. As i said before, that happens to me all the time but 9 times in a row? Really Blizzard? I mean really Blizzard? Not only that my deck got countered 9 times in a row but also in combination with the insane curve / draws of my opponents in every single game. The cherry on top was the "BM Emote Fiesta" of course. This can't be a coincidence.

It's not just you. I lost to the same Rogue opponent 4 times in a row last night. Two games were close; two were not. Then I went on a win streak. Sadly, once everyone hits a certain skill level, it really comes down to luck and RNG.   Although, that Rogue opponent just kicked my ass, no getting around it.

I refuse to believe anyone can look at the world championships and say with a straight face that this is a skill-based measure of intelligence, or anything of that sort.

Exactly. These are the best players. With well designed decks. And it's a crapshoot based on what they are drawing.

posted a message on Improving the game/thoughts on the HCT Worlds

It's clear there are only four classes that matter now.

Priest, Warlock, Rogue and Paladin (the last one, sort of; many of the Murloc Paladin decks are getting wrecked in these games.)  Aggro Druid gets an honorable mention.

    This isn't good.

posted a message on At what rank you can consider yourself a good Hearthstone player?

Man, people are setting an insanely high standard here. You are "good" if you are making it past rank 15. Blizzard has stated that vast majority of players get stuck below rank 15.

Among players who frequent this website, perhaps the skill level and interest in the game is higher. But if you are making it past rank 15, and in my view, certainly past rank 10, you are "good."

Rank 5, you are very good if not excellent.

Higher than that you should consider yourself among the elite 1-2% of Hearthstone players. I mean that is far beyond good ,that is exceptional. It's just the battle to climb to the top .1% (legend) is really hard.  But you don't need to achieve that to feel "good".

posted a message on Casual - Matchmaking

I am very confused. Apparently this game has tens of millions of players. Yet I am routinely coming across the same opponents in casual mode. And I don't just mean I played the same person 2 or 3 x in a row. I mean I am getting matched against the same people consistently.

The other day someone added me as a friend and we noted we'd played each other in casual probably 12 times in the last week or so.

How is that possible? I would have thought with so many potential opponents, the odds of ever facing the same person twice was virtually nil?

God how I fucking hate Aggro Druid. If you don't draw well initially you are absolutely screwed. Is there any other deck that's as mindless? April cannot come soon enough.
