Regis' Highlander Thief Priest is a lot of fun. Just replace a few of the low impact cards in it for. Etter ones and it is very viable.
I made a Control Galakrond Priest with no resurrect stuff. Instead I added a dragon package and it is really fun for me AND I have 58% winrate with it. If you want to try it here is the decklist:
It's not always about the battecry effect. The hero power is very good in combination with many of the warlock cards used in standard and allows for a board of minions pretty much every turn. Even the battlecry is OK in my opinion. Sometimes you low-roll, sometimes you high-roll - just the nature of the game these days. Just wait till you pull 4 dormant demons and then see how sad you are!
p.s. Even though the battelcry effect is quite good at max level, the priest galakrond is actcually (currently) one of the worst, as the minions you get from the invoke have no synergy with the galakrond package/decks (generally). As i said - it's not always about the battlecry effect
Agree.
I made a Galakrond Control Priest without the resurrect package and added some dragons with support for it so if you want to check it out and have all the cards I would recommend it. Currently, I have 58% winrate with it (44-32).
I know there are lot of them, even some odd ones. But I put them here because they were either used in previouses metas or I was trying to make them work.
I'm expecting to see a ton of people copying Firebat's Highlander DH on day 1.
I saw the title on Youtube that he made that, but just for the sake of not spoiling the fun for me and ignorance of the new stuff on day 1 I'm not watching that video and many others from other streamers as well.
I also dislike it so I just don't watch their streams during prerelease event and Fireside Gatherigs either. Also on the team that likes suprises and knowing nothing day 1 about anything. I can only advise people who share my view of point is not to watch those kind of streams and Youtube videos when they arrive.
This happened in today's patch. I was playing Galakrond Rogue and played Ethereal Lackey and was able to discover an Invoke card. I thought it was impossible to discover Galakrond cards (Invoke cards, Invoke lovers and Galakrond itself)?
Nobody is perfect dude. Even to them something slips out. Yes, they make mistakes evaluating cards, decks and combos (synergies), but so do we, players. Remeber when everyone thought first Quest Hunter The Marsh Queen would be OP? And the first Rogue Quest The Caverns Below would not? It is hard to predict such stuff. And besides, of course that there are some unbalanced metas, but they have recently learned that when it occurs, they try to balance it. Just wait for a day or two after the release day and you will hear the screams and whining of us that this and that is too OP, too broken, calling out Blizz to nerf stuff to oblivion, threatening to quit the game, millions of salt threads, ...
I like how Blizzard showed they aren't afraid of doing new, but risky stuff like mentioned dormant, perhaps over the top new class, OP Primes, etc. If some of them turn out to be too broken or OP they can instantly nerf them like we saw with Galakrond Shaman this expansion. So, more excited than worried about the new expansion.

Besides the expansion, I am more excited for new stuff that comes along the way, like rotation, HoF, new class, new laddering, pack opening...

So sad that it is always same decks everytime. I understand why but I think it is sad.
