Mage will more than likely be the reason I end up taking a break from standard for awhile. The RSW “nerf” was laughable at best. All you can do is sit back & watch as they draw their entire deck by turn 8 or 9, then emote as they mindlessly throw everything at face. The deck is essentially “how many masks of cthuns can you discover.” The deck could more than likely be piloted by a garage door opener. There‘s a reason why it’s the most played deck across all ranks right now. And that is because you can alt/tab in between turns & still win the majority of your games. I miss the days when there were actual decisions to be made with most decks.

*Draw* *Draw* *Draw* *Mask of Cthun* *Fireball* *Fireball*.....”Well Played” “My magic will tear you apart.”

A bit surprised that Paladin didn't take more of a hit, but utterly shocked that the bitching about Tickatus was somehow resisted.

Good job there, Devs.  Absolutely no sarcasm meant; after the Flametongue nerf, I give credit every time public outcry doesn't result in a terrible balance decision.

Not sure what the shaman buffs were intended to accomplish.  I suppose they could be built upon in the next expansion, but currently, I still don't see a shaman deck that works well enough to compete at the top.  At least once per meta, I always try to get control shaman to work, and this time it's just not happening.

Wouldn’t be a Shadowrisen post without mentioning Tickatus in some way. For all the complaining you do about the topic, you sure seem to like bringing it up quite a bit.

Control now stomps on those decks

Try playing control warlock. Use deck tracker. It's fun to see 12 soul fragments in a deck of 21 cards never get drawn while you keep pulling removal spells against a spell mage with no minions. Then match up against Paladins that draw perfect and kill you by turn 5. That will continue until you are about to quit then you will go on a winning streak that will convince you that control is the shit.

As I was playing this I lost to a paladin in 5 turns with control warlock. I posted before - think about how many games end in 5 turns and how you literally have to draw perfectly on curve to do that. Either Hearthstone players are the luckiest fucks on the planet or luck has nothing to do with it.

Next game was a mirror match. I had 16 soul fragments out of 23 cards and couldn't draw any.  Then I lose in 7 turns to face spell mage. Remember when you used to have to think about what card to play? When fatigue was a thing?

Just uninstall the game simple. I cant understand why you still play the game. You obviously dont like it yet here you are whining about some tinfoil hat conspiracy theory.

And I can't understand why anyone would troll a salt thread.

You are the one who keeps posting on a thing they obviously dont like. Very smart

Because I have been playing since beta and I can remember when it was a great game. Before they had to dumb it down to convince people like you that you are really good at at the game when you copy their net decks and win in 5 turns. They are simply catering to the participation trophy generation. You are easy to identify because any basic observation regarding how the game defies statistics and probability is taken very personally. That and completely disregarding Blizzard's public admission of manipulation of the RNG.

Blah blah same old crap. Thing with me is I have a few brain cells left, who when i dont like something I dont go on and on and on and on and spam forums with rubbish. I leave. There is one thing talking about a bad beat, but when you come on with the same unproven based on lies crap that is another thing.

Majority of this thread is not unlucky beats, its full of spoilt so and so who probably net decked one of the 'top decks omgz' but got beat badly because of a bad play or the opponent got lucky (it happens), then he comes on hear whining.

"Oh nos I net decked from a article saying its a top deck, I should be winning every game, why arent I winning every game - boo hoo"

And any moron can clearly see that this thread exposes a huge problem of Hearthstone today. Player dissatisfaction with the game in its current state keeps growing exponentially due to excessive RNG,MMR, and powercreep. So what the f*ck is wrong with you complaining about salt in a SALT THREAD you asshat

GTFO if you don't like the salt here...cause it ain't going anywhere.

Bullshit, most hear is just whining from spoilt brats who thing everything must be given on a silver platter. ENtitled much, cant fathom in there tiny brain that other people can get lucky or get a good hand. Its all self entitled me me me

Sounds like you can solve your own problem by simply not coming to the SALT thread. You’re literally complaining about the entire point of the thread. If you don’t like reading it, then you can choose not to. If you’re just looking to start random arguments, then I would recommend you visit the official hearthstone subreddit, since that accounts for about 90% of the content there.

    Ditto for Silas Warrior

Almost to 200 matches against the Tick and am trying desperately to maintain the 60% win rate, though even if I fall short by a percent or two, I think the point is clear.

Aren't combo decks supposed to beat Control anyway? A combo deck having a good win rate against warlock isn't at all surprising.

    Quote from SpaceTimeDream >>

Current Hunter decks are some of the most balanced and fair decks I've seen in a while. They drop fairly costed minions combined with fairly costed spells and try to smorc the enemy hero because that is what Hunter is designed to do given his hero power and the complete lack of healing. There are two way to counter that: either (a) try to outheal their damage till they run out of gas (only Priest can do that well) or (b) try to remove their tempo while developing yours and kill them first (a deck like Rush Warrior can do that well for example). What you cannot do is sit back and play one removal spell at a time while they slowly chip down your HP total (what Warlock does)

I played the deck. 18 games, 72% win rate. I barely think twice before playing a card on curve. The average player shouldn’t be rewarded with a win for playing cards mindlessly.

The thing is, this is exactly what Blizzard wants. Contrary to what a lot of people on this board think, this game does not revolve around what players in top 200 legend are doing. The game has over 20 million active players monthly. Many of which, play this game very casually. They aren’t playing hours on end, & aiming for a top 16 finish each month. They play this game on their lunch breaks, or on the toilet, & need decks like face hunter, that they can do well with, without much thought involved. There have to be decks like this available in the game at all times. That’s what keeps players coming back & ultimately spending money on the game. It is a business after all.

This is the only thing I can actually agree with them changing. They definitely should not be able to target their own minions. Give it the hysteria treatment. Luckily, I don’t think a lot of hunter players are even aware of this interaction.

If Mage can have a 4 mana spell that deals 6 damage to whatever they want, it's completely reasonable that Hunter can have a 4 mana spell that deals 5 damage to face at best when removing a 1 Health minion.  The interaction you're describing is a cool play that Hunters can make, and actually requires them to have/do something just to get that damage.

As I stated in my first post, I don’t think anything really needs changing at the moment. This is just a small tweak that I agree could be considered at some point. The fireball comparison is laughable, but there’s no need to get into that. I personally don’t have an issue with hunters on ladder, since my control warrior largely farms them. They’re also beating up on all the warlocks, which is a good thing. So trust me, I’ll be fine with or without the change.

Good lord, this thread has been a roller coaster ride. After reading the initial post, seeing the inevitable downward spiral, & eventually, the full & total collapse of anything resembling an actual discussion...I can’t help but laugh at the irony of it all.

This thread is the HS community in microcosm. A sublime tragedy.

Pen Flinger should cost 2 mana

That would absolutely destroy the card and make it unplayable. What it really needs is to have the bounces limited like returning at the end of the turn. Could also make it a 0/1 so it retains its identity but is useless if you can’t bounce it

Making it a 0/1 would change absolutely nothing. A pen flinger is almost never played if it can't be bounced anyways, so that's essentially a non issue. The only way to nerf the card is to make it only deal damage to minions, which would also potentially kill the card, but so be it. No deck should be centered around a 1-drop. I truly believe this is the change we'll see later this month.

Another year of watching the rope burn while your opponent ignores your board & bounces pen flingers definitely does not sound like fun to me.
