posted a message on Nerfs are in - what do we think?

Warlock is more or less the same. Giants can still easily come down turn 4 in standard & anything short of hyper aggro doesn’t stand a chance. Mage is already a hard counter for slower decks, we really don’t need two. I really just don’t understand why they won’t just nerf the quest itself. They’re eventually gonna have to admit they fucked up, just like they had to come to terms with back during Genn & Baku.

Literally all they had to do was nerf the warlock quest itself alongside incanters & we would’ve been fine. Instead, they neutered all the counters to the deck. Paladin got gutted & wasn’t nearly as problematic as warlock. If you nerf everything, do you really nerf anything at all?

posted a message on The Demon Seed is Killing Wild

This quest is a mess in it’s current state. I anticipate ladder being like 35% warlock after balance changes. The only two counters the deck had, were nerfed even harder than this one was. People thought Tickatus was bad, well this is literally like a 10/90 matchup for any slower/control deck, which is way worse than Tickatus ever was.

There’s a reason why there’s like 4 or 5 different variations of quest warlock on ladder right now. And that’s because the quest is fucking busted. You can put pretty much any combination of cards in the deck & still win most matchups, as long as you’re running the quest. I would guess they’re gonna have to take a second look at this card in about a month or so.

Edit: If left alone, this single card will ruin wild forever. There’s no disruption card that can fix this issue. They would have to change the design of the quest altogether, which we all know they’re not gonna do. RIP wild. Might as well get used to Turn 3 flesh giants, Turn 4 quest completion, & Turn 5 OTK. That’s the new norm for wild.

posted a message on Pure Control is dead and buried, nerfs wont change that

If they manage to fuck these nerfs up (which I'm almost certain they will), it might be time for another long break for me. This meta has settled into one of the least fun in the games history. Whether the devs personally like control or not, they need to understand that in order to appeal to a large audience, they need to have something to offer everyone.

I feel like I'm on the outside looking in at the moment & I refuse to let the front page of hsreplay, dictate what I play or don't play, like the majority of players always do.

Looks like I'll just have to speak with my wallet & hop on over to MTG, where I'm not pigeonholed into playing what the devs deem acceptable.

posted a message on This is how easy it is to reach legend nowadays, especially in this fun and interactive solitaire meta

Hitting legend has been dumb easy ever since the ladder system was changed. There have been terrible players regularly hitting legend ever since. People complained it was too difficult in the old system, & now you see players like this in legend on a regular basis. Blizzard essentially holds their hand down the yellow brick road. I haven’t considered “hitting legend” a testament to skill in quite some time.

posted a message on Quest warlock is cancer already

I don’t think it’s too bad yet. There’s quite a few decks that shit on it. Their health can actually get pretty low rather quickly in a lot of games. It’s definitely strong for sure, but I don’t think there’s anything cancer about it. I’ve been laughing at all the players accidentally burning the quest reward because their hand is full. I’ve seen it like four times today.

Those who complains about aggro decks or face hunters are usually those who play garbage greedy decks like Clown Druid, Tickatus Warlock or stuff like that.

They basically want to do all the greedy stuff or reach combos with no opposition, well, news at 13:00, this is not a single player game.

    Enjoy face hunter

I'd rather face 100 face hunters back to back than one priest.

Dumpster legend means nothing. people play experimental trash decks.  Easy to win.

People say this all the time, but it’s hardly ever the case.

posted a message on New Legendary Mutanus the Devourer

Card looks pretty fun to me. I could care less if it’s “good” or “too slow.” I play this game for entertainment before anything else. I’ll be crafting this bad boy gold on day one & throwing it into my control warrior. If it ends up being trash, then oh well. The first time it eats a Yshaarj or Nzoth, it will have been worth it.

posted a message on So they're not going to fix Mage then...????

This is part of the reason I quit wild altogether, but standard isn’t too much better at the moment honestly. The game is just in a rough spot overall. If the mini-set doesn’t change things up a bit, it’ll probably be time for a break.

Mage will more than likely be the reason I end up taking a break from standard for awhile. The RSW “nerf” was laughable at best. All you can do is sit back & watch as they draw their entire deck by turn 8 or 9, then emote as they mindlessly throw everything at face. The deck is essentially “how many masks of cthuns can you discover.” The deck could more than likely be piloted by a garage door opener. There‘s a reason why it’s the most played deck across all ranks right now. And that is because you can alt/tab in between turns & still win the majority of your games. I miss the days when there were actual decisions to be made with most decks.

*Draw* *Draw* *Draw* *Mask of Cthun* *Fireball* *Fireball*.....”Well Played” “My magic will tear you apart.”
