Been playing around with Hir’eek decks the last 24 hours and I can’t seem to find a balance of maintaining health and/or control whilst building threat and/or the win condition. It seems the deck either has to be really finely tuned to use the mechanic or the card is just thrown in as a random turn 8 (or turn 10 with recall) hoping that hes at least been buffed once or twice.
Last night I decided to go ahead and buy the big bundle. Inevitably I thought that there are some great cards included amongst this expansion, many of which I’d rather appear at random than create myself (I’m past trying to grind my way to any considerable rank, I play for the fun and strange decks) so with this I figured I’d rather just see what lands from an abundance of packs.
I also thought that at least with a load of cards I will gain a load of dust, which I can put towards crafting any card I do want, or save for the next one. A lesson I will learn from this experience is from this point on I will start saving towards the next expansion one might th after the current release, so I am always ahead with stacked gold.
I really can't decide, I love a hearthstone expansion (I've bought all previous pre-orders bar two) and also I think Rastakhan hosts a good number of cards which we'll see become stables in many decks for the next year to come.
However I feel there are only a handful of Legendaries this expansion that are really going to stick around. So that said, maybe I don't need to open 50 packs, maybe 16 will suffice with a cheeky craft or two on the side.
What are your thoughts, are you happy with your decision to buy either pre-order? On one hand; it's the cheapest deal to get a heap of packs and from my personal experience, the random "good" legendaries that drop often lead to the most fun aspect of the game: trying to fit them into strange and wonderful decks.
On the other hand, with three expansions a year I don't always have the funds to pre-purchase each expansion, so perhaps I should wait for one that I feel boasts a few more costly cards?

Never dust! I reckon he’ll have his day. Maybe not now, but later. I made a zoolock deck with him in which was fun!

I only pulled two legendaries from the 50 packs and one of them was Hir’eek. Maybe next time I should listen to all the nay sayers!

Maybe there’s some beastzoo deck to try.

Shame it’s not “summon a random minion from your deck which costs 6 mana or lower”

I guess he values the upgraded hero power from completing the quest over Dr Boom.
