Great in Duels. Gonna close a lot of games when 2 of these smack your face.

Does this set a new standard for powercreep?
I mean in the history of gaming.
This all seems insane to me. And I think it may foretell the end of Hearthstone as we know it. With either a complete rebalancing or a total overhaul in the works.
I don't know how this will work for collectors who suddenly have thousands of useless cards.

So every now and then I listen to a hearthstone podcast, and they are just talking about hearthstone like always.
No change in tone, nothing really critical to say. Just business as usual.
And I'm freaking out because I think the game has been practically destroyed lately.
So, since everyone else seems to think things are fine, Im assuming I'm the broken one
So, my litany of complaints:
Battlgrounds just feels like a glorified game of War to me. Except the deck is split 8 ways and some rng is thrown in to make it less predictable. I know a ton of you LOVE battlegrounds, but I think a rather low level not could play the mode at an extremely high level
Marc's just feels like tic tac toe to me. Nobody plays tic tac toe because it is a solved game. Mercs is obviously less simple and has some rng thrown in, but I suspect 2 high level opponents don't really need to play a match, I would guess they can look at the starting state of the game and predict with 80% accuracy who will win.
Standard had no control. It's BS. Horrible decision making by the post Brode team and can only lead to disaster. I haven't hardly even touched standard for months now.
Duels was my last sanctuary. A place where I could go to enjoy a game where it felt like my decisions mattered. Then the quests came and it was terrible. Then they made a ton of smart changes, only to decide quest warlock diablo should be a thing. Wtf?

Probably good in wild going forward, though you've missed the boat, really. Banhammer to QLock means that control shall reappear to some extent in Wild, and Pirate warr is always going to be disfavoured against control.
Is it? I would think the quest reward would be pretty difficult for control. And you could always throw Dr. Boom or rattlegore in if it wasn't enough.

It appears that it definitely will be strong in wild.
I thought it was pretty good in Duels so I think with the buffs and nerfs to priest there it might be strong there.
And in standard, it looks pretty good also.
Seems like this is going to be a good deck worth crafting no matter what mode I want to play. Just not sure I want to use dust on something like a ancharr.
What is your opinion on the deck? Will it be good in standard now?

I haven't looked into Mercs much yet. I figured I would just wait til it is out then give it a spin.
Blizzard has never frustrated me too much with monitization. I actually think they balance that fairly well. And I anticipate the same will be true for Mercs.

I was thinking today about how there are so many powerful synergies in the game and how rarely defensive cards see synergy.
I thought I would make a few powerful defensive cards with synergy and see what folks thought.
So my first thought was simply to be able to stack large amounts of armor. Not infinite armor, but a nice big finite amount. Here is what I came up with
Defensive Stance - warrior spell
Gain 5 armor then double your total armor.
This card heavily synergises with already having armor in play. A little reminiscent of an armor version of Arbor Up. If you had 10 armor on turn 10 and dropped 2 of this you would have 70 armor. But just tapping before casting puts that up to 78. If you have a deck built around stacking armor this can really get crazy. Worst case this is pay 4 for 10 armor.
Bulwark Totem - Shaman Minion
4 mana 1/3
Taunt. Battlecry: gain +1/+1 for each taunt minion you played this game. Deathrattle: put a copy of this into your deck.
Gives you a reason to play a taunt centric deck. Will win games by itself if the opponent can't silence or transform. A little bit like Jade idol.
1 cost Priest spell.
Discover a spell and shuffle a copy into your opponents deck for each spell you've played this game.
The idea here is to discover a bad spell and clog your opponents deck with copies. It synergizes with having cast spells
