Use this if you're in desperate need of a refuel at only the expense of (possibly) your entire next turn - you might want to make sure there actually are spells left in your deck though...

ElSabidon posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!Posted in: General DiscussionI suck. I don't know how to aggro. Perhaps it's because, to me, for some reason, every minion the opponent puts on the board has Taunt. That might also be the reason why I've only reached rank 5 twice despite playing this game since GvG came out. That and the fact that I also like playing arena.
And yes, for a while, I rode the "aggro is cancer" train too. But I took off, accepting the fact that aggro should be a part of the meta, Otherwise, Jade Druid would be the "cancer" that everyone hates (for example). Or some greedy ass combo deck like the Kun'Thun Druid, who knows. Hell, to some people, Reno is the cancer. You know, the card that stands as the cornerstone of a lot of control decks right now. And the funny part is, for a year and a half, Reno Jackson was just some cute Tier 3k card that people didn't care about. You know, the same thing Pirate Warrior was before MSG came out. So why is it that people start calling cancer to every deck that goes popular?
God, I went off topic there for a while, sorry about that. The thing is, if you feel the need to play something else WHILE playing Hearthstone, like it was suggested a few posts ago just so you can pass your time while roping, why don't you just play that game? Why do you feel the need to waste your time and some other person's time? Hell, since aggro is so brainless a bot could play it, don't you think you might be wasting a computer's time? And last time I checked, computers don't care if you waste their time.
In all seriousness, if you feel so disgusted by a part of the game, and a part of the game you claim is everywhere, maybe you really should stop playing that game and do something instead. Hell, check out a couple of Bob Ross streams instead of playing the game. It sure helps me when I'm feeling down.

Horkinger posted a message on Control Hunter deck!Posted in: HunterQuote from Justice171 >>Multi-shot, but no Kill Command or Eaglehorn Bows? Peculiar...
This Kill Commands I sort-of understand, the Bow missing looks like a pain at first sight. Yogg-Saron always gives me crazy bad RNG (Usually a 10 mana Battlecry: Kill Yogg-Saron immediately), but I'll give this exact deck a spin. If I find I am missing reach, I may add King Crush.
For now, I'll queue the following song and let's rock.
Kill command is a terrible card with such low beast amount. Eaglehorn is a terrible weapon without any secret (Fork level, do you even imagine that?)Eaglehorn bow is not a terrible weapon. It's just better with secrets, but even when you have secrets you play eaglehorn bow often without getting secret value. And it is played in hunter builds (midrange and aggro) also without secrets. A 3/2 weapon for 3 mana is decent and usable. Just because firey war axe is probably the most powerful weapon with regard to its cost doesn't make it bad. And making use of health as a resource is a very good way to maintain card advantage, especially for midrange hunter.BUT, hunter has two main problems when it comes to control decks: No reliable card draw and no reliable health gain. The former you can work around to some extent by discover effects and spells like Stampede. Here he used a spell heavy hunter that draws with acolythe of pain , Wild Pyromancer and the spells. It's a neat idea, most people try cultmaster and small minions, but that means the minions have to survive (or unleash the hounds combo for 7 mana). However, life gain is a bigger problem. This list has also zero heal, but the win condition is Yogg-Saron, Hope's End or Medivh, the Guardian => Call of the Wildwhich are at 8+ mana. If you use your health as a resource, you will unlikely last until you can play your big bombs. Especially against aggro. And that is likely the reason why eaglehorn bow has been cut. -

RyoKei posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!Posted in: General DiscussionNah dude, I am one of those who will congratulate the pirate warrior who achieved legend and it's not because I don't blaspheme against the game. The game has flaws alright, such that some decks that require less thinking are unfairly more efficent than those that require more thought. But I dont wanna put down the guy who achieved legend for the first time because of my own personal dissatisfaction with the game, which the dude didn't design btw. If the fella is toxic then it's a different story but if he's just happy that he reached legend then let him be happy. It's not his fault the deck archetype exists. Putting down someone for personal selfish reasons just seems so...pathetic.

gabugga posted a message on Jade Druids and Pirate Warriors still? Really?Posted in: General DiscussionPosts about jade druids and pirate warriors still? Really?
I mean this is seriously getting annoying. How can people still enjoy making the same posts for 10 months without ever stopping? I get bored of the same posts within 5 minutes.
They are ruining the forum. It's getting boring for other posters too. I literally know what they are going to say before they even post it. I just can't comprehend the fact that someone is so salty to be doing the same post every single day for 10 months and still want to complain about it.

Livienna posted a message on Expansion Creation Competition - Phase IV [Submissions]Posted in: Fan CreationsGoin' for that fancy avatar border, y'all! ;D Enjoy.
An unusual warmth has settled over the wintery landscapes of Azeroth... from Northrend to Winterspring, snow is melting, flowers are blooming, and dormant beings are awakening. The rumors are true: SPRING IS COMING.
"The Great Thaw" expansion is all about the clash of Winter and Spring. We have Frostsabers, Ice Elementals, and Avalanches, as well as Forest Spirits, Flowery Glades, and Woodland Creatures. Similar to Goblins vs. Gnomes, this expansion is not set at a certain place or event, but is instead a general theme that permeates all over. Pushing for more control-style decks, this expansion includes the Sherazin Dormant mechanic, more board control spells/weapons, and three new keywords (really two):
- About the Keywords -
Elusive - This is simply the Faerie Dragon effect. I know Ben Brode said they don't intend to make this a keyword as it would be too confusing for new players, but hey this competition is just for fun and I want it :D
Chill - Chilled minions have a shimmering light blue mist surrounding their token. The Chill takes place at the end of each player's turn. This mechanic encourages trading; it's not often that a Chilled minion will last long enough on board to accumulate a ton of damage from the Chill effect.
Warm - Examples of this currently in the game are Nerubian Prophet and Shifter Zerus. Like these cards, your opponent will not see the trigger take place. I should note that most Warm effects encourage you to hold cards in your hand, however some are still stuck in winter, and will lose value as they Warm.
Here's how Nerubian Prophet looks with the new keyword text:
The sun icon tracks the number of turns a card has Warmed. In this example, Blossoming Nymph has been kept in hand for 3 turns and is buffed to 4 health. The icon doesn't appear on a card until the Warm count is at 1 or more.
Huge shoutout to ZardozSpeaks for helping me with this graphic!!

Frost Whelpling is just learning his skills and can't control his Chilling frost breath (btw - see Frost Drake below for the grown-up version of this little guy!). This is also an example of the general push for control-style decks in this expansion... he's a strong 1-drop for decks that don't want to flood the board. Also, as the Elven Sharpshooter warms, her text would change in the way that text for spell damage does. So for example, after being in your hand for 2 turns, her battlecry text would read "Deal *3* damage to a minion."
Rares
Iceshard Elemental is an example of a minion that doesn't like to Warm in your hand. Play him as early as you can, or he'll melt altogether (if his health reaches 0, he can still be played - and would trigger things like Knife Juggler - but would die instantly).
Epics
The wording for Arboreal Giant was much debated, since the text could also read "Warm: Reduce the Cost of this card by (1)." However, I've chosen to keep it in line with the other giants, whose texts all begin with "Costs (1) less".
Legendaries
Mith'ra, Spirit of Spring and Lae'ra, Spirit of Winter are Sister Spirits that are said to be battling over control of Azeroth. Lae'ra's hold over Northrend and other snow-covered regions is waning, and Mith'ra has taken the opportunity to Warm the lands and Restore life. Lae'ra, meanwhile, is filled with vengeance and is taking it out on minions that can't handle her Chill. And the others, well... she'll just Freeze them where they stand. Also, I feel like I should address how these two cards interact xD The ruling is that Kalecgos cannot be made Elusive. This is one of those unspoken rules of Hearthstone, something DisguisedToast would make a video about upon release ;)

Finally! Only took like 3 months of 1 or 2 games a day for those last 50 wins. Just didn't really have any desire to play, but with all the rest of my heroes sitting between 150 and 250 wins hopefully deck diversity will rekindle my interest.

Fairly minor bug, but the Required Dust section of the widget on the front page is showing the full dust cost for all the decks. Once I actually click on the deck it shows the accurate requirements, but from the front page it looks like I don't have any cards. Innkeeper is fully updated and my collection is accurately synced from what I can tell.

55 dust, but the last two Un'Goro packs I bought both had legendaries so I'm fine with that outcome.

Still wish they'd make a Brawl similar to this, but where they allow you to construct your own deck with the cards from two classes. Druid/Shaman Jade or Druid/Hunter Beast would be so much fun.

Finally realized that Stonehill Defender is holding a shield. It always looked like a little pirate hat to me and I had never really looked at the card. Definitely makes more sense now.

First was Mage, primarily Tempo. Second was Warlock, but I always had like five decks so nothing specific. Now I'm 50 wins away from Hunter playing mostly Midrange. Haven't really been playing a whole lot of Hearthstone the past couple of months, but I should be able to get Rexxar finished this month sometime.

Had a lot of fun with this one. Managed to snag a win with every class, and I've been enjoying using it to complete quests. Definitely a stand-out as far as recent Brawls are concerned.

Beat it on my first try. Much easier than the other co-op brawls imo. Definitely a "one and done" brawl though.
