Most Burn effects have a turn count on the card that signifies how long it lasts. With Scorch, it will deal 1 damage, deal another 1 damage at the end of your turn, and deal 1 more when you end your turn again for a total of three damage. However, if there isn't a turn count, then the effect will last until the minion dies. Just like Freeze, Burn can be silenced away. There won't be any burn cards with no turn count that can hit the enemy hero because there is no way to silence a hero. Unlike Freeze, Burn can stack together to deal more damage at the end of the turn.

posted a message on The new tri-class legendary rant

If Don Han'Cho had synergy with hand buff cards, it would be unfair to Hunters. The only card that could buff Don Han'Cho in Hunter is Shaky Zipgunner and the Tri-class card Grimestreet Smuggler, which are too inconsistent, especially compared to Paladin's buff cards. The reason Paladin's cards can buff all the minions in their hand, but don't have synergistic effects except for the neutral minion Dopplegangster is because it would be too powerful if they gave them something like Dispatch Kodo. Hunter wouldn't want to play Don Han'Cho because it would be too weak and inconsistent, while Paladin would basically have a second Class Legendary because it would be run in every Paladin Grimy Goons deck. All three classes need to get the same amount of value from their Tri-class cards or it would be unfair to one of them, especially the legendary of the Tri-class cards.

posted a message on Dirty Rat

This is from HearthPwn's exclusive reveal article:

Dirty Rat is great at preventing Battlecry effects which means Kazakus, leader of The Kabal, is going to cry.

Why would Kazakus cry if he still remained in the opponent's hand? Blizzard has changed their wording before to save space. An example would be Reno Jackson and Kazakus. Although they are worded differently, they still trigger when the player doesn't have any duplicates in their deck. If Blizzard wanted Dirty Rat to not remove the minion from the opponent's hand, then they would have used the word "copy" in the card text.

Did they have any minions on the board? It might only work if you have at least one minion.

You don't pick the class you want, though. You are given three options, one mage, one priest, and one warlock. Whether they are good is up to RNG.

    posted a message on Kazakus

It has been confirmed that there are 10 10-mana potion effects:

    • Powerful Mojo - Copy 3 cards from your opponent's deck and put them in your hand.
    • Felbloom - Deal 6 damage to all minions.
    • Kingsblood - Draw 3 cards.
    • Ichor of Undeath - Summon 3 friendly minions that died this game.
    • Stonescale Oil - Gain 10 Armor.
    • Mystic Wool - Transform all minions into 1/1 Sheep.
    • Shadow Oil - Add 3 random Demons to your hand.
    • Icecap - Freeze 3 random enemy minions.
    • Netherbloom - Summon a 8/8 minion.
    • ??? - Deal 8 Damage.
    • ??? - ???

Thank you, borus87, for the quote from a Blizzard employee on Reddit:

There are 3 options for cost and 10 options for the first power. After you choose the first power there are 9 options left for the second power (you can't get the same power twice). This means there are 3 x 10 x 9 spells = 270.

You have to divide that in half though because we fix the order of the spell that is created to always be in the best order for the player. (like sheep happens before dealing damage). That means there are around 135 options.

One additional piece of info. The thoughtsteal option didn't make it into the final version of the card but appears in the videos. There were 3 card advantage options so we cut the one that was a bit too long anyways.

It would seem that the Powerful Mojo option isn't in the final version, which leaves one effect left unaccounted for.

Thank you, Mysterious_Challenger, for the 8 damage potion effect. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the potion yet.

They probably wanted to change the wording so it wasn't as long as Reno Jackson. If it does work like you suggested, then a player can have multiple copies of a card if it is added to the deck during the game. For example Brann Bronzebeard into Elise Starseeker. Personally, I don't see them changing the way it works. I guess we will know when Karakus is released.

posted a message on Getaway Kodo

Duplicate has the same trigger as Getaway Kodo. They both trigger "When a friendly minion dies." With Duplicate, the deathrattle triggers before the minion is copied, so it would stand the same with Getaway Kodo; the deathrattle triggers and then the minion is returned to the hand. The only deathrattle minions it doesn't synergize with is Anub'arak and The Skeleton Knight as they return to the hand thanks to their deathrattle.
