posted a message on Patha of Arthas set. Is it worth it? Share your opinion!

Well, I guess it comes down to how badly you want to play DK. From a dust perspective, this has less value than the mini-sets (just over 2k dust for Path of Arthas versus like 2500 something for the mini set). The mini set is often a good value as well because the cards usually catch some nerfs giving even more dust value. Right now, it's looking like DK isn't particularly overpowered. It might even be straight up bad, but we'll see. In fact the entire expansion isn't looking very impactful. Usually, when that's happened in the past, you can expect Bliz to go back and buff some of the new stuff and nerf the old. As such, I wouldn't expect at this time to be seeing any full dust refunds off of Path of Arthas cards.

For me, I just opened the packs. I'm sitting on something like 70k in dust. I'd rather spend the gold on packs that have the potential to be more universally useful than a bunch of cards for a class that I may or may not end up playing. And if I really need it to, I can just spend some dust to craft a Path of Arthas card. However, if one of the legendary cards in the set does catch a nerf, I'll probably buy the set for the dust value if it's still available.

A time bank like they do in some poker tournaments would be a good thing. You wouldn't get all, or even most of the time you don't spend on a turn...maybe like 10 to 30%. Then you can use your banked time on a monster turn or when you need to tank.

Level of experience: Long time player, but I usually just run quests and hit Diamond 5 every month. Maybe legend 2 or 3 times a year.

Looking for: I need some friends for the spectate a friend quest. All of mine seemed to have turned off the ability to watch (so frustrating!).

posted a message on Sire Denathrius is overpowered bull**** and makes Malygos and CThun pointless to play.

If Denathrius is getting that charged up, it's not the Denathrius player that's delaying the game. It's YOU because you're running some BS greedy removal quest priest or some such deck, thinking you're just gonna run out the clock on the other player.

posted a message on What deck are you using to climb with on Standard ladder right now?

I think the best deck right now for those, like myself, who just want a quick run to Diamond 5 and then goof around has got to be the Beast Druid deck. Easy and quick deck. If they wipe your board around turn 4 or 5, just concede and move to the next match. Had about a 60% WR on my climb.

To be honest, your complaint kind of sounds like, "The battle pass allows paying players to get the best cards available with a lower investment of real money than they have in the past. I don't think that's fair to ftp players."

thats not my point. buy what you want with your money. if you want to buy edges in games thats your decision. its up to you.

and i dont care if as always been like this. that doesnt become magically fair because it was always done like this. it is unfair to f2pers period. it was and still is.

It sure sounded like that was your point. Look, everybody knows this game offers very little value for real money spent. There's nothing new about that. If you don't think it's fair, then why play? Paying money to get more cards has been the revenue model from the beginning. I play entirely ftp and have tons of dust and gold every expansion to do as I see fit. And certainly I don't see any edge to be had in cosmetic cards. In fact I support the cosmetic model of funding a game 100%. That way I can play for free.

The paid BP has changed absolutely NOTHING about how a ftp player gets their cards. Paying players have always had the ability to get every single card, good or otherwise, by paying money. Ftp players, on the otherhand, have always had to pick and choose the cards and decks they wanted to play. How is getting a cosmetic version of a legendary on the paid version of the battle pass changed the experience of a ftp player in any way shape or form?

I don't see a problem with it. So there's some cosmetics that are also widely played? Pumping out cosmetics is a tried and true way to make money off of a game. Also, the wide play rate on cards like Finley and Drek (which was given away free in a gold version to everyone who played the previous expansion) makes it super easy for FTP players to craft them and to play a wide variety of decks. They're obvious crafts which will serve you well throughout their time in Standard.

    Quote from Toribasher >>

Hearthstone cards today are all minion hate --- removal, silence, rush, destroy.  And they keep giving Mage and Druid 0 mana stuff or massive mana cheat, but I find it funny to play Questline Hunter because those decks need enemy minions to target.  Does something have rush if the opponent never plays a minion?  Freeze my minions?  What minions?

Love this statement. There really is WAY too much removal. This is what everybody talks about when they say that want to see more board interaction. I too I have been moving more towards decks that frustrate minion removal. Like deathrattle decks are great for some good comedy.

posted a message on Expansions needs a playtest / ptr / beta

No sarcasm here. I prefer having a FTP game and the current situation is getting me a ton of resources. I mean just look at the most recent nerf. I'm going to collect 880 dust from the 3 common cards that just got nerfed as well as a 1600 dust refund for the warrior quest that I crafted to play the latest broke ass deck (I already received a full dust refund on the one I opened a year ago when they nerfed it the first time around...after buffing it, lol).

PTR and betas cost money. And this game is already way too expensive as it is.

And give up the 1000's in dust I'm making every expansion? No don't agree with this proposal at all.
