There is no counter to him, there is only one play against him in which you don't lose out and it is priest only. Mass dispel (priest only) followed by Big Game hunter. The boom bots kill off BGH next turn, so that is the best play and you get an even trade. Well you can also do Shadow madness, run a boombot into a boombot, then use BGH. In every other scenario you lose out badly.
The correct way to counter Dr Boom to play your own Dr Boom first!
I really hope they do not release too many adventures. For many people defeting bosses is a waste of time and it can be very boring with too much of it.
Well, if you find it boring then you could choose not to play any new adventures that are released. I find it's a nice break from the ladder grind, where I can play something that's not Hunter and against something that's not Hunter. (or in the Arena, Mages!)
It really depends on what you play. I would only consider crafting Bloodmage Thalnos if you play rogue or freeze mage, since it's rarely going to see much use in any other decks.
Actually he can be an upgraded Loot Hoarder for decks that run those, Patron Warrior and Face Hunter also comes to mind. I've also seen Thalnos used in zoo (around rank 4 - 5 now) to buff mortal coil and implosion. He's actually fantastic value, card draw and spell power attached to a body (albeit a puny one) for just 2 mana!
Flamewaker is great but not OP. I've replaced Loot Hoarders in my deck with Acolytes due to the amount of Mages with Flamewakers on ladder, and almost always gets two cards off it.
You gotta admit, the RNG is fun as hell. I got a Force Savage off a Druid the very first game I played with Nefarian and have kept him in my deck since then.
Laddering with Facehunter now (I know, I know, but realistically it's the fastest deck to ladder with) and it's filled with Mages around rank 6-7 NA playing Flamewaker and cheap spells. It's a huge pain having to expend damage (which could have gone to face, face, FACE!!!) to kill it because I can't leave it around to threaten my low health minions like Wolfrider, Worgen Infiltrator or even Huffer.
Quite tough to get around Flamewaker+Coin+Mirror Image on T3
Interestingly I actually got a Velen as my first golden legend, and dusted him for Pagle, then Leeroy after the nerf, then Malygos after that got nerfed.
Some nice coin combos can help Mages solidify board presence early, Turn 3 Flamewaker+Coin+Arcane missiles pretty much clears early enemy board. Even without the coin it's a decent 3 drop, with 4 health it will survive against almost all 2 drops or draw silences/removal. Can't wait!
He's actually quite good vs Mech mage, since they usually can't remove him simply with their early drops. When he dies he also pulls either small drops that you can hopefully handle easily(annoyotrons, chuggas) or empty battle cry drops (Blastmage, TTT, Dr Boom!!)

I wonder if Medivh will say something cool when he plays his Echo?

How did you manage to get a mine with Thoughtsteal?!
Only scenario I could think of is if you are a Warrior, played Juggernaut against Priest, then Nefarian to get Thoughtsteal...

That Dark Iron Skulker value!

Malygos because he's neutral.

Nothing fancy.
T1: Cogmaster
T2: Coin+Mechwarper+Annoyotron
T3: Shredder

Yay to Malgos combos! Malygos + Frostbolt x2 + ice lance x2 for 34 damage from hand

I have to admit, the first comment was pretty funny because I read it in a way that wasn't intended...
