Really need to share the play I just made. Was playing bomb warrior, up against a mech hunter and obviously not doing too hot. At least my dynomatics (I own 1 and discovered a 2nd) were useful to clear some wyverns.

But then the 2/2 summon a 7/7 happened and again and nine lives and then king crush hit the board as well. I had already cleared some of the 7/7s and right now the board is 2/2 dr summon a 7/7, 8/8, 1/1 I'm at 6 health. I topdecked dr boom, but no 3-or less cost mech in my hand to kill the 2/2. I still went for it. My hp was 'discover a mech' it had a mecharoo. That was all I needed for part 1, kill the 2/2 and get the 7/7 on the board. Part 2 a true hail mary, hit the 8/8 and hope it hits the 7/7. And it did!

Long story short, I ended up winning that game.

Just had the most unlikely win ever. Well, maybe not too unlikely but I was in a spot that looked hard to come back from.

I was playing the old mech dr hunter with oblivitron, a handful of mechs, and then zul'jin and a huge amount of spells. My opponent was playing mechmagnetize hunter, and he built a big mech really early. I played freezing trap and unleash for no apparent reason and my opponent got his 1/1 back and hit my face  for 11. Next turn I played my 2nd freezing trap (yes, I had 2), and I figured it was pretty obvious.. Anyway, my opponent magnetized his minion even more, and then hit it into freezing trap. I was just a few hero powers away from dying anyway, but I didn't give up yet. 3 more turns to zul'jin who had been chilling in my hand from the start. I made a huge missplay though, because I had a mech on board and a magnetize in hand and with hero power that would have been lethal. Which I spotted as I played zul'jin. But he was a dear and summoned huffer for me for the final 4 damage. And I greeted because my opponent had been bm'ing me as well, and zul'jin says 'ah look who it is' and that just cracked me up.

posted a message on Buying the adventure with gold ( question )

Even though it cannot be exchanged, there is a monetary value to in-game currency (gold) simply because you can buy items with it that are also available for real currency. And even though the content is optional, it is still restricted to those that didn't fork over their hard earned coins, be it gold, euros, pounds, dollars, .....

posted a message on Dalaran Heist is a bummer

The only bummer for me is how there are still order issues with bosses. I played against the healing boss and she healed a minion, then her own face, and only then played a minion that gets buffed from healing characters..

I don't want to spend the money on this adventure because I am on a tight budget and I'd rather spend my summer outside and leave the gaming for the rainy days. And the gold cost is just way too high. 700g for 3 packs, do it 4 times and you get 5 golden classic cards and a legendary that's only useful to players with small collections, as pointed out before, need the gold for packs in the new expansion to stay competitive.

I did enjoy the first wing, but it was really easy and I've never had issues with the other dungeon run iterations either so I'm in no hurry opening more wings. If it wasn't 700g but say 400-500 I would definitely open the wings. With the amount I play 2800g is usually around the amount I'm able to save up for a new expac *shrug*

posted a message on Hero Cards Was A Mistake?

To me it just feels weird and random only 4 out of 9 classes have a hero card.

Zul'jin is pretty limiting in deck building, some spells you don't want with him and other spells might not be the best play but you'll do it anyway because you want the value from your zul'jin turn. Zul'jin's battlecry can backfire, and doesn't often has the best outcome anyway. So I think he's fine. Hagatha early can be pretty strong and provide solutions to threats at times, but her battlecry also kills your own board and you need minions to generate spells. And shaman can't generate minions out of nowhere like Dr. Boom's discovery. I think for dr Boom best solution is to add the rush to his hero powers; 'your mechs have rush this turn' I really like the idea but as is the rush is too strong against any board, and you kinda need board to kill warrior, or an otk/nomi-style deck. Sure, dr Boom can be drawn late but that is really his only drawback.

posted a message on Netdecking in Casual

Nah the brawl is a just-for-fun mode (most of the time at least) I have no problem facing netdecks in casual, I don't expect people to give up on their rank when they want to try something new and need to practice it a bit. I do take issue with players that use casual to farm gold because it's easier to get wins there.

This is fine as long as they offer enough "play X" quests to balance out the "win x games" quests.  If a new player can "play 20 murlocs" by netdecking murloc shaman in casual, they can do the same on ladder.  If a new player doesn't have access to a top tier deck in casual, they won't have access to it on ladder either.

Your argument doesn't make any sense.

I understand what you mean. It shouldn't work that way though. This is a game, it should be played for fun that's what a game is supposed to be. How much fun is it to simply throw together all the murlocs and try to get them out before being dead? Hope you'll only need 2 games tops to play those 20 murlocs (or whatever type of card) so you can go on having fun? Maybe you don't mind, but I do. I play to have fun.

I recently started playing on the Americas too, and I have found there is a huge difference in casual. In Europe yes there are some netdecks in casual, but usually those are either incomplete (missing crucial cards) or players don't know how to play them (yet) I also run into a lot of meme decks and basic decks as well. On the  Americas however a lot more people netdeck, roping, and generally bm in casual. For now I'll probably keep to completing quests in brawl until I can make a decent deck to take to casual and maybe even ranked..

    Sigh....

All Blizzard have to do is to stop giving out rewards in Casual. That's it.

    It's so simple.

The problem with removing all rewards from casual is that new players will have an even larger hurdle to catch up. Unless you want to keep being able to complete quests in casual but then you still get the high-ranked players completing quests.

The problem with casual really isn't that it gives rewards too, the problem is players using it as their personal farm. And players will always find ways to abuse the system, in the end by removing rewards the casuals are still punished most because they (we) are forced to play ranked to get rewards to get more cards to actually stand any sort of chance on the ladder.

It's a matter of respect. Some people have none.

I need more healing though I think. I'm gonna have to get a 2nd brew.

I have an omega mind in my deck, with hagatha's scheme it can easily heal you back to full but even a few cheap spells can get you out of a dicey situation.

posted a message on Netdecking in Casual

My answer to the poll is; netdecks in casual are perfectly fine BUT it is not okay to netdeck in casual with the specific goal in mind to leech off the questers with homebrews.

So here's my proposal: no more rewards for players that have reached legend in casual. Is that an idea?

Heh, writing my post earlier got me in the mood to play. The card I mean is heroic innkeeper. Also walking fountain is great, made a warrior concede when he pulled it with his hecklebot :D

posted a message on Zentimo+Elektra+earthen might question.

It should work the way you describe but spells have weird ways of behaving and I can fully imagine the recast won't count as you casting the spell, resulting in you not getting the additional elementals, and maybe even only a +2/+2 buff on electra.

posted a message on thoughts on mind control tech with shudderwok

As  a f2p with homebrews, I play it with shudderwock. If I'm up against a class that doesn't play a lot of early minions I'll just tempo-play it and make use of  the battlecry with shudderwock. It's ok as a 3-drop, it usually gets removed fast which means less removal left for your other stuff.

For me shudderwock is like zul'jin in hunter but with battlecries. It refills my hand from menacing nimbus, the mech that adds a 1/1 rush elemental in your hand, the lackey guy and krag'wa. it silences from owl (yes that's really in my deck, over the 4-mana one as well) it steals from mct, it gets additional stats from the new 8 mana 4/4 that gains +2/+2 for each friendly minion on board (some innkeeper) I mainly use the cheap spark(s) and lackey(s) for value with hagatha later on. I never saw the appeal of using it as a OTK-device. It just has amazing utility if you know how to survive as shaman.

posted a message on What's the dumbest addition in this expansion?

My vote goes absolutely to the druid twinspell. They just fill their deck with tokens and token-spawning spells and buffs and just vomit and buff until at one point you run out of resources to deal with them and you just die.

Not all classes have the tools to deal with this onslaught of minions, and the classes that do don't have access to most as early as druid can potentially make a board full of 4/4s.You also need to draw them. And you can't wait a turn because there will be more buffs spelling death.
