Gul'dan is mostly useful for regaining health (through armor and the heropower) and for potentially summoning 2/4 taunts to stall your opponent. The DK can be a lifesaver when facing bursty decks like tempo mage and agro decks such as paladin. All of this is mentioned in the guide that you can find in the link at the top of this page.
I did notice something today while playing this deck which might be good to mention in this guide. If you're going for the full mally combo (42 damage) it will only work if you have no minions on the board. If you have 1 minion on the board while playing the combo this becomes 32 damage, with 2 minions it becomes 22.
This means that if you have minions on your side of the board you have to try to kill them off, otherwise you will do less damage with the combo.
Also it's worth mentioning that you can sometimes kill your opponent without a faceless or ixlid. If you simply get two mally's on the board, the two moonfires can deal 22 damage which can catch your opponent off guard.
It's nice to see a more competetive version of malygos druid. I have been trying versions of this deck myself and i kept dying due to aggro. With the deck that you made, do you have any experience dealing with weapon removal? It seems pretty easy for the opponent to wait untill you have 1 use left on the twig to ooze/harrison the weapon.
Wow i'm loving this deck. I actually got a golden lakkari sacrifice yesterday from a random pack so i figured i had to try it out. I'm glad i found this!

Nobody knows, it's release day.
Never spend all of your dust on a new deck if you are low on dust.
It doesn't matter what other people say, decks can turn out to see no play at all.

A card that works very well with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is Mecha'thun.
A 10 mana 10/10 with rush is good on it's own and The Boomship can make for a pretty good pull too.

I'd suggest adding an Eater of Secrets to counter Ice Block. If your opponent has ice block up your 512 damage will get soaked up.
Also Explosive Runes will kill your aviana if you dont get rid of it first.
Just be careful using Oaken Summons if you're facing a mage with secrets because it can pull the Eater of Secrets

Also, if you're in a funny mood, you could add a Blood of the Ancient One to have a laugh.
