It varies, many different artists have been used. Some of it is really nice. Some of it is far too basic.

Still a good card though.

The Boogeymonster, Pit Lord or Hemet Nesingwary obviously don't deserve their gems but they can all eat up a pity timer slot, which is very frustrating for everyone when it happens.

And yes my title is clickbait-y, but I couldn't come up with another name. I know I wasn't forced to disenchant the nerfed cards. But now I can't play Hearthstone until WOG comes out. I mean look at this (I'm rank 15 becuase I don't have time for that ladder garbage, ok)

Expansions happen at a fairly consistent, steady rate. This has been true for every expansion, except League of Explorers (which was expected a few days from now, but was most likely rushed, as they couldn't release all the wings over Winter Break). The way you can figure this out is taking the distance between each release and then finding the average, and then adding that number to the release date of the latest expansion.
Naxxramas to Goblins v Gnomes - 139 Days
Goblins v Gnomes to Blackrock - 115 Days
Blackrock to Grand Tournament - 175 Days
Grand Tournament to League of Explorers - 80 Days
This averages out to 127 Days, and if Blizzard stays consistent, (which they didn't do with League of Explorers) then the next expansion will come out on March 18, 2016. So basically expect early April or late March for the next expansion. It may seem strange to anticipate the release date of the next expansion when this one isn't even complete, it's always fun to speculate.
UPDATE: League of Explorers to Whisper of the Old Gods - 136 Days
This averages out to 129 days. Meaning the next expansion should be released on September 2, 2016. But who knows, just an educated guess.

That could be accomplished without Shifter Zerus.

Does it change even when it's another card? Does it only shift once ever?

Valeera. She's not a card, but come on.

Oh the innocence. We did not know that the age of the Piloted Shredder was nigh. We did not know we would be under the scourge of this card for over a year.

This card is very similar to Shifting Shade. The reason I say that is because they both have effects based off other cards (Thoughtsteal, Arcane Explosion), and they both gain the same amount of value off of their effect. With Twilight Flamecaller, you're paying 3 stats to get a 2 mana ability. That is a 0.5 mana value gain. Which happens to be the same amount of value as Shifting Shade nets you. This card, on paper actually appears slightly better then Shifting Shade, since it's effect is a Battlecry rather then a Deathrattle. In practice, though I don't think this card will be outstanding. Its power will vary, just like Arcane Explosion's power level. It will start getting powerful after you've dealt 4 or more damage. So this card really isn't anything special unless your opponent has a large board. In arena it will be useful because value isn't a priority, and this card could have a large tempo swing against more aggro and zoo like arena decks.
