I'm legend in standard. Under my rank, I see a star x1, and 3 empty stars on top of the legend icon. I'm not sure what this means but I assume it means that when the new season starts on the first, that star bonuses will be reset?

posted a message on Am I the only one who thinks Rogue is a problem?

Am I less of a bad person if I only play whirlkick rogue? I really only have rogue, hunter, and shaman cards. I don't like the highlander hunter and I don't have cards for meme hunter decks. Shaman is all aggro too unless I want to play a meme deck. And I don't think I'm good enough to get to legend playing meme decks against all of those aggro rogues lol. Maybe I could but it would take forever.

I don't even like to play the aggro rogue anyways. Yea I suppose it's good. But I feel like I win at a higher rate with whirlkick rogue. Maybe I'm bad at the aggro deck or something, but there's so many decks that I just feel like I auto lose to. Token druid, warrior, that new mage deck with spell damage and tons of spells absolutely wrecks the deck and there's tons of those mages on the ladder. I also don't like losing once someone puts up a taunt or does some lifesteal shenanigans like the combo DH deck. I just hate games where I lose due to luck of the draw. That's why I play whirlkick rogue. I like to have that potential to puzzle my way through any matchup and find different ways to win. I feel like whirlkick is a way better deck.

It annoys me to play vs the aggro rogue all the time too, but I can beat it with whirlkick so it's all good.

But still, do I count as an annoying rogue player playing whirlkick? lol

I'm not necessarily worried about the card itself. Any individual card can be good or bad in w/e meta. What I'm really worried about is the mentality behind card design. The desire to continue printing cards with that crazy ridiculous annoying BS super mega ultra combo/bs insane turns/fill the board with unstoppable stuff....mentality.

Maybe voljin is bad. But if they keep making cards with the potential for insanity, it just makes me not want to play the game. It's not fun IMO. Those decks should be meme decks at best if they exist at all. When they dominate the ladder it's like why even play at all? Cheese paladin still running amok. Losing on turn 4 isn't fun. Just the fact that they are still making stuff that has the ability to be abused is disheartening for me.

There were times were most players were eager to get disruption cards like this, there were a lot of Metas in the past where you couldn't interact with your opponents cards at all and both players play a game of solitaire, The disruption effect of this card is amazing, And this card is really rewarding if you know the matchup

For the "crazy ridiculous annoying BS super mega ultra combo/bs insane turns/fill the board with unstoppable stuff..." it is just crazy if you build your deck around this card for the offensive side of things. I don't think anything is wrong with strong legendaries played on turn 5 or later, the problem are cards that generate infinite value, like Galakrond etc and cards that can make itself inherently free. This card card is not free itself, it need support. Will there be a "Spiteful" Vol'jin Deck that is Midrange and playable? I hope so it would be fun to see it work

I'd love to see a midrange deck. I just hope that the card pool eliminates any ability for abuse. I feel like when midrange decks cease to exist, something is wrong with the balance of the game.

I love it. Especially since I was playing classic recently and leveled like 10 toons through the barrens lol. It's fun.

I don't know why, but I got it in my head that blizzard was planning to tone down the way standard is these days. Toning down the infinite card generation, ridiculous insane combos that end the game on turn 4 *cough* cheese paladin *cough* and other such game mechanics that turn the game into "I got my crazy insane board full of humongous minions before you got your crazy insane unstoppable combo so therefore I win" stuff.

But the first card they showed us was Vol'Jin. A guy who can swap a 0 mana minion for a 10 mana minion in your hand, and probably activate some crazy insane ridiculous BS on turn 5 that is totally not fun to play against.

I don't know why I thought they wanted to move away from that stuff. Was I just wrong to think that at all? I got the idea from some Q&A I saw somewhere recently though I don't remember where. Maybe I just misinterpreted it.

posted a message on Rogue is nuts

It's not even the best rogue deck. Whirlkick is still better. At diamond 5 i could barely win with aggro weapon rogue. Too many taunts, heals, aoe clears killing my stealth minions after i play them. The only decks I beat with the deck are garbage decks or other aggro decks. Maybe druid because you can kill them before they set up a humongous board. I didn't get to legend until I switched to whirlkick rogue.

It feels needed in this meta where most of the decks have some humongous crazy ridiculous combo BS "oh, I just win now" button. I am looking foreward as well to them changing card design to be more interactive and board focused and less infinite value, insane BS combos, ridiculously fast aggro decks. I've been ranting and raving to myself about how blizz needs to change this and I guess they agree! So I'm glad for that. Saving up as much gold as possible for the next rotation!

posted a message on Help me reach Legend and quit the game for good.

I didn't really read what other people said, cuz from skimming their comments didn't look very helpful.

If you got to diamond 1, you're basically legend already. Diamond 5 to 1 is the hardest part of the whole ladder process. Once you hit legend, everyone is playing meme decks and trash.

dia 5-1 is the hardest part. The last little bit is going from dia 1 with 3 stars, and getting that last win into legend. But it isn't any harder to get that last win into legend, than it is to get from dia 2 to dia 1.

And it's true. You DO get screwed sometimes. Your deck gets hard countered, or you get horrible draw after horrible draw, and then your opponents get high roll after high roll after high roll. It's really fking annoying.

All you can do, is dedicate that time and grind it hard knowing that you're already a legend level player. If you got to dia 1 you're legend level already. It's just a matter of grinding out those last few wins. And knowing that it's not due to lack of skill cuz your skill is already there. It's more about perseverance for those last few stars. Those will break you because it makes you believe you aren't good enough.
