    @ShadowsOfSense

It's not unnecessarily complicated because dormant already exists in the game on Sherazin. It has flavor because Old Gods have mind control mechanics, and it costs 4 mana, so that Rogues can still get use out of their Hero Power turns 1-3. Mind Control also costs 10-mana so getting the effect twice on a 4 cost weapon with a condition made plenty of sense to me. It also acts as a buffer in the event that your C'thun is deleted by hard removal like Hex if you didn't play it for lethal. This competition has just become very insular and people look for regulars or advertise their cards on this forum. Thanks for the feedback though.

My submission this week was better than 1 vote. This competition blows.

Incredible payoff at the expense of not wanting to override the dormant weapon with your Hero Power or other means. If your opponent uses Acidic Swamp Ooze while the weapon is dormant it will be completely destroyed. Otherwise it will cause the active weapon to become dormant.

Pride of Cenarius introduces a new mechanic, mathematically spending all of your Mana Crystals. If you play him on turn 8, he will gain +3 Attack. Has good synergy with 10-Cost cards and Forbidden AncientInnervate may also allow you to meet the card's condition in certain instances. Edit: Further Clarification - You can meet this card's condition by playing different cost cards that add up to your total Mana.

A counterpart to Princess Huhuran with fun synergy. Hunter has a few legendary Beast pairings and I like patterns.

Good luck to everyone this week.

The card's title means 'Good fortune to you.' in Darnassian. The way the card describes the potential pool of cards to Discover is similar to Ysera or Power of the Horde. The card demanded a flavorful description. So this card offers potential healing, draw, Silence, a Charge minion, a Taunt minion, and if you're lucky, Cenarius. As well as a vanilla empty Mana Crystal. Residents of Darnassus are Druid minions from the Hearthstone classic set, they are:

Keeper of the Grove, Druid of the Claw, Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War, Ironbark Protector, and Cenarius.

Here's what I've got so far. The card's title means 'Good fortune to you.' in Darnassian, the Night Elf language.

Residents of Darnassus are Druid minions from the Hearthstone classic set, they are: Keeper of the Grove, Druid of the Claw, Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War, Ironbark Protector, and Cenarius. Of course, you'll only be able to choose from 3/6 of the potential cards. The way the card describes the potential pool of cards to Discover is similar to Ysera. The card demanded a flavorful description. So, this card offers potential healing, draw, Silence, a Charge minion, a Taunt minion, and if you're lucky, Cenarius. As well as a vanilla empty Mana Crystal.

Cards I was looking at when I was designing this card were A Light in the Darkness, and Jade Blossom. The card provides ramp, while offering the Druid a minion to play during subsequent turns, or a clutch minion in the late game. Mathematically, the potential Discover card pool has a mean of about 6.5 mana cost. Similar to other cards that provide empty Mana Crystals as well as an additional unrelated effect, this card will not grant you Excess Mana if played on turn 10.

Thanks for reading, and I'm hoping for some feedback before I submit my entry this week.

posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 5.17 - Final Poll

Lots of great finalists this week. My votes went to...

From the Void - Could be the missing ingredient for discard lock. I think the art, title and flavor are superb.

Moonwell - I want to play this card. I want to Innervate it out on turn 1.

Sanction - Paladin has a lot of niche spells so I love this card's flavor. Its drawback is so nicely balanced that I don't think it would be overpowered considering how much removal control Paladins tend to run.

General Tao - This game needs more Pandaren. I like that it contributes towards Warrior quest, and I think it would be interesting if control Warriors could reset Gorehowl.

    Honorable Mentions go to..

Bargain Hunter - I wanted to vote for this card. I love puns and the silly art, and its effect, but I think this card could've been a 2/1 and it still would've been very strong, maybe it should've cost 4 mana. If it were run in a deck with primarily 4+ cost minions it would be a huge tempo swing. It's kind of a power creeped Ram Wrangler

Mana Soaker - I was intrigued by this card's effect and I almost voted for it. But then I started to compare it to Counterfeit Coin and thought it was a little on the broken side. They're both a 0 cost card, but the few things that make it worse is that it's not a spell to fuel other card effects, and that its a dead card if you draw it after your mulligan. Perhaps it should've been a higher mana cost with relative stats.

Arcane Opportunist - I like this card's flavor, but its effect is so niche, I think it's a little under its under budgeted in stats, or it should reduce spell costs by (2). I think I would've liked it more it as a 3 mana 4/3.

Howling Pride Leader - I almost voted for this card, but Hunter is always forced into such a tempo oriented play style, I don't think that a 4 mana 2/4 would be viable even if it is a Beast and could be buffed for greater impact. Frothing Berserker doesn't live past the turn its played lots of the time and it costs 3 mana.

posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 5.16 - Final Poll

I honestly don't know whose right in the discussion/locked final poll thread debate, but seeing as both of the cards that were heavily "discussed" in the last 7 pages won by a huge margin, I'd say there's some merit to both sides. My cards rarely make it to the final poll anyway so I have very little at stake personally, it just does seem kind of unprofessional. (People's behavior, not the competition.) At the same time, I voted for both of the cards as well as a few others.. So maybe the thread has nothing to do with it.

Ambush! for reference. I really liked Beneath the Grounds for Rogue thematically, so here is a substitute! Rogue has a couple of 1-mana spells to enable this effect including the new Razorpetal and it has great synergy with Xaril, Poisoned Mind Toxin cards.

Most of these are far, far too powerful/broken (nothing personal; it's par for the course in Fan Creations unfortunately), but I would KILL for a card like Deacons of the Deep.
Thanks for the feedback. I've been looking over the list since I posted and I'm slowly toning a couple of cards back that I see now I was a bit over the line with. Didn't do enough editing because I was too excited to post. Deacons of the Deep is actually my personal favorite of these creations so it's funny you say that.

    Demon Prince

    Judicator Argo

     Darkeater Midir

     Slave Knight Gael
