Shaman can't afford to run multiple 5 mana weapons, and doom hammer is usually better, even with the overload.
Can't believe someone actually thinks doom hammer is getting nerfed, that card is far from broken.
I believe it is getting nerfed to allow space for blizzard to make cards for shaman. They can no longer make a buff face card basically now. If they give another 3 damage buff face that is 6 more to add to the already 16 damage weapon combo.
They can't do a 2 mana add 5 or a 3 mana add 6. Never will we get a card like that for shaman if doomhammer stays the same way. It is a way for blizzard to keep themselves free in each and every expansion and adventure after
I wonder if blizzard assumes the it's fine to have this card at 5 mana because it does not have overload. It could see play in some sort of control deck that want as little overload as possible but other than that it seems meh.
compared to what though. Doomhammer is most likely getting nerfed
I've heard zero indication of that outside this thread. Where are you getting that?
Speculation obviously, but as blizzard has stated they are nerfing cards to a more middle ground level. We don't know what cards, but there is a little indication of burst plus board presence combo being nerfed (with burst being the bigger factor). The shaman doomhammer plus rockbiter x2 is a burst 16 damage plus a 2/6 windfury weapon board presence. In a shaman deck combined with their other face power is very powerful. But that being said it isn't too powerful. But I believe blizzard wants to be able to open themselves up to cards that they are able to make without being extremely powerful with combination to these certain burst. Basically what I'm trying to say is that Just because a card isn't crazy now doesn't mean it can't become that and with these nerfs blizzard will want to open themselves up to not creating these crazy perfect combo decks. If one more card for shaman that ups face damage comes out that has double damage with shaman. And it doesn't even have to be in the old gods, but in any expansion or adventure to date. So basically I believe these nerfs are going to be about freeing themselves from restricted card design.
The real problem with Tentacles for Arms: The deathrattle says "return this to your hand" but you don't have a hand. After all, you've got tentacles for arms.
best post on this site.
I literally just figured that joke out now that you have posted this. I have been pondering this for days thinking he has been serious.
I actually think this card is playable at 4 maybe even 5 except that may be a bit to far. Think of the card in a fatigue warrior deck. He will forever have a 2 damage give on the opponent at the fatigue game. Especially in a fatigue warrior deck they constantly have free floating mana. Turn 10 is sometimes armor up end turn. You could play this card and go face. Boom 2 damage ahead. again another 2 damage. again another 2 damage. It adds up and I think with Death's Bite going out it will see play. 10 damage can mean win vs lose in a fatigue game.
In Fatigue games you can just play Elise and spam Legendaries instead of using this trash weapon.
In fatigue games you don't normally play golden monkey till at least turn 17 usually later around once you have all the cards out of your opponents deck when you know they don't have any more answers. That is at the smallest a 14 damage gap if played on turn 10. To which it can be played sooner or later.
I think that the elemental should have taunt, this would probably make bloodlust shammy good. 8 dmg (weapon) + 4 (elemental) + 4 (if you have windfury in you deck) +6 (bloodlust) =22 dmg on turn 7 with the weapon on 5
that would be so strong tho
yea i dont think tat would be a good idea
taunt has no effect on how much damage this could send out

It would need an attack increase to be good at all. Not even a durability increase would make the card good.
