Thank you for sharing your opinion. @CheeseEtc

    • Favor is a resource specific to my class. Some cards generate it and others consume it. I may have made a mistake with the hero power but i can't change it now so I have to make the best out of it.
    • I have changed a few cards to make them more interesting. The 0 and 1 mana cards are simple indeed because of their cost.

    • Servant is a new tribe for my class which a lot of cards interact or will interact with. Scorching Temptress and Crimson Hellion buff your Servants not your Worshipers. Worshipers are Servants but so are the tokens from Cauterize and Ra, the Sun. I have created this tribe to make the hero power tokens better as a body and not as a Favor generator. In the future I will play more with the Servants, for example, sacrificing them for great effects (like Warlock).
    • I made Triple Toss bearing in mind that it is a stronger Arcane Missiles due to the Spell Damage interaction. I have made it a bit stronger and now it can hit face. I didn't want to make it 1 mana because of the power it has with malygos.

Thanks again and I hope I made myself clear regarding some of my choices. Good luck with your cards.

    Godborn

Servant is a new tribe which has several synergies within the class. There are a few Servant generators including the hero power, the legendary god and  Violet Teacher's long lost sister.

    Class Identity

Challenge #1 - The Godborn focuses on three core mechanics: flooding the board with weak but numerous minions, clearing the enemy board as quick as possible and gathering Favor. This branches the class in two directions: aggro and control.

For now, the aggresive decks include Servant and Favor generators which grant access to strong buffs, combined with cards like Stormwind Champion and Raid Leader. On the other hand, the control decks use powerful removals and boardclears to keep the enemy minions at a minimum while building a strategy to end the game.

Weaknesses - The class is struggling with drawing cards reliably, most draw mechanics having a requirement that needs to be fulfilled. It also lacks strong minions, the biggest one being a 6-6 at the moment, and defensive options. The class is also susceptible to area of effect abilities, due to the low stated minions it possesses, without reliable ways to buff their health.

    Example Cards

Demonic Bargain (Challenge #2) - This card hints towards a Demon archetype, which will focus on generating servants and buffing them with the help of powerful Demons. This card's strength lies in the certainty of drawing a Demon, which is not very likely at the moment.

Scorching Temptress - A seductive succubus which empowers your Servants with her fiery whip.

Cauterize - A high cost removal which creates a couple of defensive Servants from the ashes of your enemy.

INFERNO! - A devastating board clear which generates both mayhem and Favor. Maximum cost, maximum destruction.

Ra, the Sun (Challenge #3) - This card gives you two options: you either wake up Servants from beneath the sands to aid you in conquering the world, or you burn them, along with everything else.

Notes: I know both INFERNO! and Ra, the Sun represent powerful boardclears and may result in a lot of power for the class, but both aggro and tempo oriented decks will end the game by the time you play two 10 cost cards and then one 9 cost card. These cards will be played in a control deck which will stall the game enough for you to gather the necessary tools to win.

    Tokens

    Remaining Cards

Spark in the Dark - A very cheap way to earn some Favor when you are close but not close enough.

Blazing Bolt - A simple damaging spell that can act as a removal or as a finisher. Spell Damage effects are particularly good with this card. Mark my words.

Praise the Flame - The easiest way to build a board and earn Favor. By fire be purged. The Firelord agrees.

Breath of Life - Alexstrasza was just passing by and decided to heal you. What a generous queen.

Triple Toss - As the name suggest, there is a slight chance your head will be next. Spell Damage hurts.

Wildfire Berserker - Fire makes people angry and spells powerful. Cool.

Phoenix of Ra - 1,2,3,4, 4 DAMAGE!? Ra trained them well. (could be a little to powerful effect, maybe 3 damage sounds better)

Rain of Embers - When Dragons start falling from the sky you know Beasts have no chance.

Crimson Teacher - There were once two sisters. One was a Violet Teacher and the other was definitely not a Violet Teacher.

Crimson Hellion - An ancestral Demon who enjoys wearing red and making bargains. It will only cost your soul.... and a few lives. ( this card seems a bit problematic to balance, a few tips will be great)

A teacher and a demon walked into a bar. It was hot.

    Archetypes

    1. Aggro - Praise the Flames, Scorching Temptress, Crimson Hellion, Crimson Teacher.

    2. Control - INFERNO!, Ra, the Sun, Rain of Embers, Phoenix of Ra, Breath of Life.

    Upcoming

    3. Tribal ( Beast/Elemental ) Synergy - Un'Goro

    4. Demon Synergy - Kotft

I have a little question. My class is the godborn, who focuses on swarming the board with different kinds of minions. I wanted to implement a new tribe called Follower/Servant but I want to know if it is possible considering we are in the 3rd phase. The basic set doesn't interact with the Followers in any way so I think it may be ok. For the classic set i wanted to make some cards interact with my followers, which take multiple forms, so i dont have to make the same token for every card i want to work with the mechanic but rather be a bit diverse.

For example, the treants from druid don't need a tribe because you can actually see which tokens are treants, but for my class it may not be that obvious so i wanted to make things a little bit clearer.

    Thanks in advance.

    The Godborn

The Godborn is a class that focuses on earning the gods' Favor to unleash devastating effects upon his enemies, as well as controling the board via powerful boardclears of by flooding it with servants and acolytes.

Hyperion Sunborn is the son of Ra, the sun god of the egyptian pantheon, that making him a godborn .  His life in the realm of the gods was a blessing, until a cunning and deceiving conspiracy set our hero on a path of doom. Exiled from the high sky for a thing he hadn't comitted, Hyperion was left to suffer on the planet of Azeroth in his desperate attempt to regain the trust of his brethren.

The Favor keyword won't be present in the basic set because our hero is not yet strong enough to earn the gods' acceptance. However, the  0-1 produced by the hero power can be used in other ways by the weakened godborn, either by buffing or by sacrifing it for a greater cause.

    The Basic Set

This set follows our hero's first steps into the world of Azeroth, more precisely in the Tanaris Desert. Being weakened by his skyfall, our hero is ready to begin a journey in an attempt to clear his name, conjuring the power of his father to tame the dunes and the heat surrounding him.

Poisonous Bite is a cheap spell that allows you to draw a card if played correctly. The class has an arsenal of 1 health minions and related effects that will make this card a powerful draw engine and a core card for every deck. Sadly, there is no antidote.

Sandclaw Scorpion is a powerful removal tool whose lethal sting can take down the mightiest enemies. Combined with a Poisoned Bite , your opponent's minions won't be safe from the creatures of the desert, unless you have Divine shield .

Blessing of Gods allows you to ascend a minion and make it stronger and godlier, being perfect for a 'fair' trade.

Journey is an interesting card. As you are wondering through the big, hot and dangerous desert you need every help you can get: a means of transport, a weapon and a nice drink to heal your burning throat.

Rise! does what it knows best. It makes the earth  tremble as mighty soldiers arise from beneath the sands, flooding the board like a rather dangerous army. Just remember, they melt, fast ( Flamestrike ).

    Here are some tokens:

    Remaining Cards

Eclipse is a single target medium damage spell that will allow you to either anihilate weaker enemies or prepare stronger ones to be finished by your little army of exotic desert dwellers. Don't forget your sunglasses.

Sandstorm will unleash the fury of the sands upon your smallest enemies, leaving them breathless before your opponent can level the playing field ( Level Up! ).

Mummify is the answer to your burning questions. The bandages are 100% ignition free so you won't be a sad mummy after all.

Oasis is a refuge for the thirsty, acting as an impenetrable sanctuary where you can't be harmed. Well, you can be harmed but you won't die from the pain.

Imperious Sphinx is not your usual kind of teacher. You come with a question and he offers you 3 answers. Choose wisely.

    Where is my mummy?

There you are. Good boy....or girl.....or whatever you are!

    The Godborn

A godborn is an offspring of a divinity whose only purpose is to gather followers to worship its creator. The class revolves around earning the favor of a god by gathering worshipers and doing other worthy deeds. In exchange for your obedience, your god will reward you accordingly and will aid you in defeating your opponent.

Hyperion is the son of Ra, the god of the sun. His duty? Praising the sun and cleansing the world through flames. Exiled from the realm of the ancient gods into the world of Azeroth, Hyperion has begun a quest to reclaim his place in the sky by earning the favor of different gods, including his father. Will his odyssey be victorious or will he fall on the battlefield?

    Hero Power

The godborn's hero power is: Pray For It! , allowing our hero to gather Worshipers who can earn the Favor of the gods.

    New keyword: Favor

Favor is a new keyword which allows our hero to gain access to great powers. The godborn revolves around earning and spending Favor to obliterate his enemies. Favor acts like a Choose one effect, allowing you to either choose the basic effect of the card or the Favor one, if you need a more powerful option to deal with a situation, considering you have earned enough Favor throughout the course of the game. Spending Favor permanently removes that amount from the Favor tray, so spend it wisely.

    Cards

Both the basic and the classic set will revolve around a fire/sun theme, given that our hero is the offspring of the sun god Ra. I will try my best to make every card feel important for the identity of the class and make them as interesting as possible. Future sets will explore gods from different pantheons according to the expansion's thematic.

Here are the 5 example cards that present how the Favor mechanic works.

Praise the Flame is, besides your hero power, the main source of gathering Worshipers and earning Favor . The token is the same as the one produced by the hero power. This card is good for ramping the Favor but the tokens can also be buffed to create a board of powerful acolytes.

Phoenix of Ra is one of the god's most loyal servants and it can be used as a low cost removal, if you are willing to spend Favor to unlock its power. Even without the special ability, it represents a good stated minion that can burn an enemy minion to a crisp.

Flame Demon is a card that directly interacts with your Worshipers , trading Favor for raw power. If you decide to bargain with the demon, you army will grow, but your soul may be lost forever.

Succumb is a mass removal that allows you to gain your god's Favor by raining pure fire over those who dare oppose you. If any enemy is left alive, a Phoenix of Ra will be a great follow-up.

The last card is none other than Ra, the Sun , the first god introduced by the Godborn class. As a high cost board clear, Ra is the only one who stands when the fight is over. The most powerful Favor effect so far, Ra will obliterate every single living minion on the board and will reign supreme over the battlefield. Our hero's father will also be his savior, if you have worshipped him for long enough.

All the cards are from the classic set because this will be the core identity of the class, with future sets exploring different archetypes and new ways to gain and spend Favor.

    This is all.... for now

I am happy to present you with the Godborn class and i hope you like it as much as I do. Future sets will follow our hero's footsteps into different places, ruled by different gods. For example, Un'goro will be a journey on the domain of Artemis, the greek goddess of the hunt. She will send us on a dinosaur hunt you will never forget.
