StarDragon25 posted a message on Ivory KnightPosted in: Ivory KnightTime to review another new card... because I want to get most of the new set out of way as I play with the cards.
Time for Ivory Knight
The Breakdown
This is a 6 mana 4/4 minion. So... 3.4 mana of stats? Well that is the only bad news. Now for the good news! This card lets you discover a spell! With how discover works, (only letting you get cards from your class and neutral cards, but their are no neutral spells) you will be presented with 3 random paladin spells to choose from, the chosen spell is added to your hand. And what is more? You gain life based on that spells cost! (honestly my first thought when I saw this was oh look! A paladin Antique Healbot)
I love using the Equality + Consecration combo, and I found that this card has a pretty high chance of grabbing my missing piece for this combo.
Some people are trying to say this card is bad because you can get the WORST paladin spell, Eye for an Eye,off it. My answer... no... sure you can... but you will always have 3 CHOICES! If you see and Eye for an Eye, Hand of Protection, and Divine Strength, you will NOT pick the Eye for an Eye, the divine shield or the buff will be better. But that is the WORSE case possible off this discover. You MIGHT get the choice of Equality, Consecration, Blessing of Kings, Stand Against Darkness, Hammer of Wrath, or EVEN Avenging Wrath or EVEN Lay on Hands. You have to admit, this card is INSANE! Letting you use an extra spell... and HEALING you?
Sure the effect is still RNG, but I have not yet been faced with 3 bad choices.
Conclusion
Ivory Knight is a good replacement for paladins for the previous rotated Antique Healbot.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! If you see something I missed or want me to review a certain card just let me know :)

I think it'll steadily decline but still be around, albeit barely, in 2035.

Necrome posted a message on Lifespan of hearthstonePosted in: General DiscussionGuys, how many years do you think hearthstone will last? I see WoW decaying, as well the MMO style, most of my friends that used to play hearthstone are gone, I know people come and go, but, what is your opinion?

I wouldn't say priest is OP. secret pally is still dominant in the meta, y'know.
It's just that usually control priests are total jerks since your own deck will be often used against u

For 1-drop minions, Leoper Gnome w/ Abusive Sergent are your standard solid 1-drop

REGARDING THE MAGE DECK: If you want booty bay guard, i suggest craft Evil Heckler instead. Evil Heckler is also a 5/4 taunt common rarity minion that's a 4-cost. Also, I would suggest switching out a Frostwolf Warlord for a War Golem since the status of Frostwolf Warlord fluctuates depending on how many minions u have on the board. If u are behind, chances are that ur Warlord won't be very strong because u will be struggling to maintain minions on board. War Golem establishes a decent late game pressure to ur opponent even if u are behind. I would also encourage u to replace 1 Arcane Explosion w/ another Frostbolt as Frostbolt will be able to instantly kill off most early 2-drop threats (Knife Juggler, for example). 2x Mirror image works fine, because it's a great synergy w/ Frostwolf Warlord or Raid Leader but again, that's only if u have the cards and the chance to pull it off. If u want more offense power, replacing 1 Mirror image w/ Arcane Missile is fine too since u have a Spell Damage +1 minion. In my personal playstyle, I would actually replace one Raid Leader w/ another Chillwind Yeti. Yeti is one of those cards that are excellent alone without any other synergies due to its balanced stats. Raid Leader actually requires multiple minions on board to be effective-- with the condition that the Raid Leader actually survives and lets ur buffed minions to attack at least once, which only works if u are at the advantage, and situations like this don't always happen. Chillwind Yeti alone have the ability to establish board presence and pressure to ur opponent because it will usually require more than 1 card to get rid of him by turn 4, thus giving you more room to set up your next moves. Another thing, ur deck has so many AOEs to the point where it might actually do u more harm than good. 2x Famestrike alone is enough to make your opponent cry and hate you, so I don't see much point in putting a 6-drop Blizzard that's just gonna deal 2 dmg to all and freeze. I suggest u can put a Boulderfist Ogre in there as a late-game powercreep in the 6-mana slot. Archmage also works fine because of so many spells in ur deck. Just keep in mind that if u do planning on putting Archmage in there, u might want 2x Fireballs instead of 2x Polymorphs.
I hope u take ur time reading this. Sry for the long explaination :P

Very interesting deck. If it's my playstyle then I would replace 1 shadow word death w/ one shadow word pain. pain is great in dealing a lot of aggro decks at early stages of the game, especially things like knife juggler where it could get quite tricky if ur opponent's lucky enough to land its effect on ur minions. As for Confessor Paletress, while being a fun and somewhat solid 7-drop alternative compared to Dr. Boom, Confessor is still more inconsistent as u need to rely on more RNG to hopefully get a DECENT legendary. Dr. Boom establishes board control w/ relative ease right away because the bombs are still a big threat to ur opponents.
