posted a message on Newb that's looking for help

One piece of advice that hasnt been given is do the tavern brawl every week. Win one game and get a pack of cards, usually from the Classic set. Log in as much as you can, if you do it daily you wont miss out on freebies. Also if you have not played on a phone or tablet, and have one, instal the game and log in and play a game and you will get 1 free pack for each device.

posted a message on Hi guys, I am new here, any advice to get me on my feet?

The arena isnt for everyone. I tend to suck at it. If you find that the Arena isnt for you, do daily quests and save up gold for the next expansion. If you start soon after an expansion is released you should have 7k-8k in gold. Thats 70-80 packs. If you get the pre release special like I do, you will have a nice assortment of cards to build decks with.
I took a look at your collection and it looks like you have a good start. I would focus on the Classic set, and those that were released this year. Next year in April the 2016 sets rotate out of standard to wild. The Classic set will never rotate out.

There will be a little red jar next to cards you dont have in deck lists. The cards that are faded out in the collection manager are ones you dont have.

Once you import your collection, any deck lists on Hearthpwn will show missing cards and how much dust you need to create the deck.

A word of caution for a new player. Be very very careful when dusting cards to create others. You may dust something that is really good or becomes good overnight. There are no fast fixes for building a collection/decks other than spending lots and lots of money. If you plan on buying packs of the next expansion buy the pre release deal now. You will get 10 pack more, for the same cost, than if you wait until after its release.

Not much of a wild player yet, maybe in the future.

If a mage plays the weapon, I will likely leave it alone. It will be fun to watch them mill their own deck.

posted a message on Arena tickets after the event.

I have nothing to lose, I had a horrible deck and awful hero choices, won one game and 2 strait losses. Ill leave it open in hopes of getting another arena run. The worst thing that happens is I get the pack of cards.

posted a message on Is it time to save gold for packs already?

Unless your good at arena, start saving after the last expansion is released. With 3 expansions its important if your f2p. Im at 5.7k gold and should be near 8k when the next one hits.

posted a message on Patches worth it?
    Quote from Neffarious1 >>

I've been building an oil rouge deck but i don't have patches and i'm wondering if he's absolutely necessary and worth the 1600 dust

That would depend on the state of your collection, if you are free to play, and if you play wild or are planing to in the future. Patches will rotate out to wild in April 2018. If your free to play and/or have other holes in your collection in the Classic set or newer expansions with a year to play yet, it may not be the best use of dust if your not going to play wild. Its a fantastic card, and while a budget player I did craft it a few months ago. I think filling in other cards I crafted (Tirion, Yesra, and the Druid DK) had more impact for me. Though I think that may have to do with my play style as more of a control oriented player. The choice is up to you, I hope these points help you make the best decision for your play and collection.

posted a message on This is the worst expansion
    Quote from theLoneRanger441 >>

But as a new player playing since Un'goro, this expansion has the worst decks for me to play. Other than hunter, every single other deck needs shit ton of leggies and epics, and even hunter needs his DK

I have been playing about as long as you have. I started about a month before Ungoro on this account. I did have an account I played 3 weeks before that but messed it up listening to bad advice so I started over.
I agree that a lot of decks need legendaries to compete at a high level. The trick for newer players is to focus resources. I am not a f2p player, more of a budget player and have only bought the pre release deals and a few packs here and there. Doing daily quests to build up gold for the next expansion is an absolute must. With the pre release deals and the 8k of gold I built up between expansions allowed me to have a good number of legendaries. I was able to craft two others from the Classic set as well. Focus and research as much as possible and you will have enough to compete.
Also realize that you are competing against a lot of players that have been playing for years. It may take a year to get a reasonably good collection to go up against some of these players. Next years first expansion will even the playing field a little for us in standard. All the cards from before we started will rotate out to wild. Keep playing and build for the future. Just try and have fun and learn.

posted a message on 1 legendary in 10 packs restarted after new patch ?
    Quote from Ginzo87 >>

1st KFT pack bought in a while just to try it (I'm saving for next exp). Got the missing prince in my collection. Lul It seems working.

This or it's just an incredibile coincidence.

PS: my pity timer was 0.

Coincidence is my guess. If the 1 in ten rule was reset everyone would get a legendary in the first 10 packs. Lots of others have reported that they didnt get one in the next ten packs. Remember the pity timer doesnt say you cant get a legendary sooner, it just increeses your chances so you get one about every 40 packs.

posted a message on Kellsey rogue, most fun deck of the expansion?

    Especially if:

    1. Keleseth is in the middle to end of your deck.
    2. If Keleseth is early, but you draw lots of big minions after it.
    3. Shadowstep is in the middle to end of your deck.

Drawing Keleseth early does help the win condition, but it is far from an automatic win or an autopilot deck.

Just log onto the region your collection is in. You might also start a second account in a different region as f2p and slowly build it.
