It's a predatory system, plain and simple. It's a system meant to trick you into buying more and more gems/tokens or what ever you want to call runestones. So in that sense it is a form of stealing. It's just not illegal because as you pointed out, it is in fact a choice to buy or not buy. But it doesn't mean it isn't wrong.

It's dirty and it really is a form of stealing. It's just only legal because of lazy and greedy courts that allow these kind of loopholes to exist.

There'll always be the gullible and desperate who'll be into buying what ever is put in front of them, that's just not me. If more players thought with their brains then they'd realize how terrible this system is and how it's designed to drain your accounts as quick as possible.

And it's no coincidence that Blizzard is implementing this system board wide across all games. It's disgusting.

Ummmm no. Its not a predatory system. The game is free to play. Players have a choice to spend money, or play a lot and earn in game gold to buy things. You dont have to spend anything as f2p players. Blizzard isnt tricking anyone into spending cash. Its a choice. Blizzard isnt taking money from people without their consent. You are just wrong.

Today you can buy EVERYTHING. Not only that you can but you have to, just to be competitive and relevant in any game mode. New players have to invest money equal to 4 other perfect games just to get you going.

No, you dont have to buy everything to be competitive. You dont have to play every meta deck to be competitive. You dont have to have extra hero choices in BG to be competitive. You dont have to have every mercenary to be competitive. You dont have to play every mode to be competitive.

There are lots of f2p and budget players who do just fine. They get off the hype train first of all. Then they learn to play the game and how to allocate resources.

Blizzards job is to make money and to create hype to make you spend more money. They are a business. Smart players understand this and learn to limit what they choose to spend if anything. You will not be able to play every meta deck you find, but find a good one and master it. A person playing a mastered deck will win against someone trying new decks over and over. While harder, learn the hero's in BG and how to play all of them. Focus in on the best mercenaries and build them.

You dont need everything. You also dont have to play everything.

Oh, really?  I play standard and wild without any money being spent, reaching legend every month with no problems at all.

Its possible to play without spending anything. But you have to play a lot. It also helps if you have been playing a long time and are conservative with your resources. I'm more of a budget player. I use Google Rewards to lower the price of the mini set to $5 or less. I play wild mostly and usually have enough to buy 120-140 packs with gold at release time.

Sign up for Google Rewards. It pays you to answer a stupid 10 second question each day. I usually end up with about $15 sometime during the season. It may not pay in full for something, but $5 for the bg perks or a mini set isnt bad.

posted a message on Jade Druid ideas?

Jade Druid has one problem, Skulking Geist. With Quest Hunter popular in Wild Geist is in some decks, and will be in more if Jade Druid shows up more.

Trade only?: Yes, you go first.

Wild challenge preferred (I have a self destruct deck to make the quest fast), but any will do, you can play standard decks in a wild challenge.

Opened 145 packs, got 9 legendaries. Pretty good selection of epics as well. I didnt buy any bundles, but did get the paid track, so 11 legendaries in total. Not bad in my opinion, but not fantastic.

    Quote from aganau_426 >>

HS becomes less popular by the day, consecutively leading into streamers or content creators leaving the game, so instead of giving them actually support or views with card reveals, they decide to troll a developer, wasting a seat for someone who actually needed/earned it

Not only that, they advertised It with particular emphasis, amd it's just a placeholder of a card

    Great work Blizzard

All this for a card that may not see much play. 4 mana for two low cost minions? It better be a Big DH deck.

posted a message on Do you usually buy packs or not at the beginning of a new year?

I have been playing some wild, mainly because I dont dust rotating cards. This time I should have 130-140 packs from the gold I saved from the paid rewards track. I will likely pay for it again as I end up with slightly more gold and a lot of other stuff for free.

awesome post from your sign, thanks

Your Welcome. I created it long ago, but it still has good advice. I updated it today to make it apply better to the current game state.

I wouldnt craft anything NOW. As my signature says, dust doesnt eat a hole in the jar. This close to an expansion release and the core set changing crafting is a bad move. The meta will be vastly different in a few weeks. Save your dust and wait, especially if you only have 1600 dust to spend. With that little dust crafting the right card for the new meta will be the  vastly better option.

Where do you believe the game went from being fun and engaging to not fun and frustrating?

The short answer is never for me. It all depends on what you consider fun. I think its fun to create the best deck to win. Each expansion makes sure that aspect of the game never goes away.

But if you think that finding some deck that someone else has made and winning a great majority of the time is the only way to have fun, you might disagree with me.

posted a message on Has power creep ever been this bad?

This thread is based on some players perception. To Blizzard the only thing that matters is the bottom line, making insane amounts of cash. Making cards less powerful when players are used to powerful cards = less packs and bundles sold = less money coming in. The idea that Blizzard is going to rework HS is pure insanity. Remember the only thing that matters to Blizzard is the bottom line. Money is rolling in so to them the game isn't broken. They will likely follow the old advice of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". The only way to change this is if players buy fewer packs and bundles. If you think that's going to happen, I may have some ocean front property in Arizona you might be interested in.
