I always like to feel what's good in the meta and also play every currently famous deck, to see what their weaknesses are. If you then start your own deck, you can slowly build your way towards countering the meta.

I think the most important part is just doing it often, you natuarlly get better then. 

Also playing 14 hours(???!!!) seems a lot; a lot of times you get better if you sleep a lot and take a lot of breaks.

Also another important thing is to not hold on too tight to some cards. Like e.g. Wand Thief seems like a very good card in a lot of mage decks, that feature minions. But sometimes it just doesn't really add up towards your general plan, although not being awful. Just keep tweaking and testing and you'll get better.

Also, playing your same deck over and over is important, too. B/c you get better in how this deck plays; not always straight forward.

It's still a fun game though if you want to return. I'd try to buy every mini expansion for 2000 gold (I think this is the best value) and invest in this years packs (Barrens + Stormwind) to slowly build up decks again and ignore the cards that will rotate out in 8 month (maybe just craft some for decks you're using, like e.g. Wolpertinger or so). Then by match of 22 you're up to speed again.

Hey, I just ran a very approximate calculation to justify my very likely own spending :) 

So up until LvL 100 it takes 155200 XP the

From there, for simplicity, it takes ~1500 XP for any new Level. 

I reached something in the early 200 by the end of this expansion by playing kind more in the beginning and just the quests in the end, so probably below average.

The levels from 100-200 are ~1500*100 plus the 155200 XP up until 100, so 

there's a ~300.000 XP gathered.

The difference, assuming we have 20% more XP all the time (which just happens a bit down the road) between Bonus XP and no Bonus XP is

300.000 - 300.000 * 0,8 = 60.000. So basically, we got 60.000 / 1500 (which is one level in the end) = 40. Each level is 50 Gold, so the 40 extra levels are

2000 extra Gold. 

So for me, the tavern pass would be:

20€ became
- 20 Packs (or 2000 Gold aka a mini expansion)
- a lot(!) of hero skins
- a coin skin
- a free legendary (Varian)

Fair but not incredible, if skins aren't your thing, pretty amazing otherwise.

And every other 10 level you get another free pack or 100 basically on top. 

The XP is green and the author probably just had this account, what do you expect? Intense journalism, asking around for someone without the boost (which would be misleading IMHO, b/c I might not bother for only 1500 XP) instead of just sharing the info?

Yes, it seems that you have all legendaries already, b/c then you can get duplicates. He's otherwise normally available in packs.

A general replacement for any 1-2 cards missing can also always be just a card draw (Far Sight, Novice Engineer , ...) for quicker access to core cards

You can try Waste Warden for same-type AOE

Bummer that Prince Liam rotated out. Would be fun to play him currently just to annoy BLA plays :D
