So they are just going to reveal the card one piece at a time and they only revealed the attack stat 35 minutes in. Yeah this is nothing but a stunt just to boost views and have people watching the stream waiting for them to reveal the card piece by piece. I'm not watching, I'll wait until the card is revealed on the home page because I don't want to give them views.

Psy_Kik posted a message on The fixed 50% win rate on ladderPosted in: General DiscussionSorry for the necro, but I started this topic, forgot about it and now just wanted to add some things to entertain and clarify.
Many people state that if the system is rigged in the way that was implied it would just end up with many people having 50-51% win rate and no one would climb the ladder. And that is why it maybe rigged like this - you are faced with random opponents until you have "too many" wins, whatever that number is for it. Afterwards the system notices and starts to match with people who have a good chance at winning against your deck. Those people are specific not only by that, but by also having lost their previous game(s). This doesn't happen to actively hinder you, it happens, because other people have had "too many" lost games. And if someone is only losing, he will not want to continue to play the game (or have any interest in paying for anything). If there is a reason for rigged matchmaking this is the only true reason. Oh I am sure that my wins doesn't mean anything to anyone, however if half the player base is losing too many games there is a problem for the future player base of HS, because people get disheartened and don't feel motivated to play and pay.
If you continue to play you'll start to overcome the system, because by design it will give you some good match ups after the bad and if you are a good player you'll reach a better win rate. This is how people reach legend even with tempered match making. The hidden system isn't 100% of the time active or it would be too noticeable don't you think? I have played HS since the beginning of Nax and had a lot experience with different decks, not saying I am good at it, just that I had time to notice the shift in opponents when my win rate increases or when I switch to a different class, how generally the decks of my opponents are changing, some increased in frequency much more than the ones I've been facing with my previous deck.
If you go to a casino and start losing all the time or be at severe a loss you'll notice it. That is why you don't see that unless you want to spend it all on purpose. The establishment wouldn't want you to lose all the time or you'll not come back, however it wants your money so it is best for it to give you some wins just so you think you can get more from gambling there. Blizzard's match making is not the same, but comparable. It doesn't matter to blizzard if you are winning a lot, it matters that you are making people lose more often. And the logic is the same - they will not come back to play HS if that happens too often. So another layer of match making is added - not to prevent you from reaching legend, just to prevent people that are losing more from leaving the game. I am pretty sure that casinos and lotteries would like to get all the income and don't reward winners, but then they wouldn't be popular and wouldn't be profitable. And HS is more and more popular and one the more profitable if not the most profitable game of Blizzard to date. How are these bad players not losing interest in the game? If you consider yourself a good player you can understand that there are for example 5 others that don't have your experience, yet the player base is the biggest of all of their games and is increasing. The more people are playing the more the need of such a system to ensure a pseudo good time for the less experienced while not intended on stopping truly good players.
In a game where there are many cards with random effects it is easier for the system to decide the winner using them to do it. And even if you are not playing any of these cards, your opponent is and your card draw is "in order" until you make something that turns the tables and a prevention measure is enabled to bring the losing player to a win again. Have full board in one turn - gets wiped by a topdeck. Get one big minion gets removed by a topdeck. You can't physically check if that card was the next one. Of course luck plays a big part in this, but I also have played MtG for 3-4 years before Hearthstone and I have never felt cheated even though I guess I had the same skill or lack there of back then. And after I started having this feeling I started paying attention to the forum and other peoples opinions on this. If I am imagining everything, why It did not feel the same way with Magic the gathering?
One final note which I left out on purpose in my first post of the thread because I thought it would impact the direction of the discussion. I've posted this same topic on the official hearthstone forum way back. Two hours later the thread was deleted and I was banned from the forum. Now as much as tinfoily this got I don't think I offended anyone with my presumption? And as much as you could disagree with what I said if it's just tinfoil theories it doesn't deserve a ban over stating an opinion. Freedom of speech and all that good stuff. :)
They probably banned you because Blizzard are smart enough to know people's susceptibility to conspiracy theories, and they can spread really easily. Not that there's any truth to your claims but that they are worried people will believe anyway cause they would want to believe. Even more likely in a head-to-head game where there must always be one loser (rather than the usual bottom-feeder 20% that buys into illuminati, etc). Anything to deflect from your own lack of the skill or ability, or even bad luck. Human psychology is fascinating. -

Twitchy posted a message on Clockwork Card Dealer Brawl Decks, CDC #35 Finalist Voting, European Championships VoDsPosted in: NewsSeriously, what is the difficult part in 'Tavern Brawl is a fun game mode that's not about winning but about creating your own, innovative decks'?
Featuring the decks with the highest win rates on the front page so everyone can copy-paste them is exactly the opposite of what Tavern brawl is about...

Twitchy posted a message on Winter Veil Tavern Brawl Launches Today, Tavern Brawl Release Time ChangePosted in: NewsSeriously, to everybody complaining about this brawl:
Shut up
I already played over 20 games in this brawl and I think it's one of the best. The interaction with the crates is awesome, and you only need a few cards that work really good with the crates, like Power overwelming, Crazed Alchemist, Void Terror, Poison Seeds or any card that can buff it's attack.

Twitchy posted a message on Randomonium - Tavern Brawl #59Posted in: NewsThis is once again just 'flip a coin: Heads you win, tails you lose'. At least it's somewhat more fun and not so pain-in-the-ass-slow as the Raven Idols one.

And once again people are complaining about the name of the article even though "Weekend Wacky Wild Decks" has been used for the Wild version of "Deck Spotlight" for literally 5 months now (first one: http://www.hearthpwn.com/news/1509-weekend-wacky-wild-decks ).
Are they all new users or something?

I have all of them.
I had to ask a guy in my university to install HS and buy Khadgar for me on his iPhone though because all of my family and friends use Android. And it had to be iOS, so even emulated OSX through VirtualBox wasn't an option (and you can't emulate iOS). That was the most annoying one to get, at least for me.

It would be cool to allow us to show our highest rank of all time, not just the current one.
I really want to use other cardbacks than Legend, but it's the only way to show your "achievement" right now.

Gang Up, Ambush!, Backstab, Shiv, Burgle, Cutpurse, Sprint, Vanish.

I have 5/3 Sylvanas Windrunner and 1/1 Silver Hand Recruit on board.
My oponent has 3/1 Auchenai Soulpriest and 1/3 Northshire Cleric on the board.
He is at 17 health. It's my turn 10.
... I have Equality and Forbidden Healing in my hand.

Well, The Ancient One is pretty big, but is it enough to kill the control warriors? :-)

I don't understand why so many people like random brawls.
Yes, it is true that constructed brawls are somewhat unfair to players with small collection. Yes, it is true that after some time (especially at higher-win "league") a lot of people starts to netdeck.
But in my opinion it's still lesser evil than having absolutely no control over what's in your deck. It's like saying "hey, I don't care, just give me something I can vomit on the field". You can't even plan anything. You don't know what's in your deck or what's in your opponent's deck. You literally just throw whatever the game gives to you on the battlefield and hope for the best, without any win-condition or synergies. How can anyone enjoy this random-fest?
It's why I don't like Unstable Portal. It's the same principle - "here, have 2 mana and give me something, I don't care what". But in case of Portal, it's understandable since it has some good Mage synergies and the chance of something useful is better then something bad.
I've never played random brawl more than a few times (most of them just for the pack). On the other hand, some of the constructed brawls were so much fun for me I achieved the 30 wins per day gold limit in them.
Can someone explain to me why is it so appealing to play with random cards without any plan? I know people enjoy different things, that's why I'm asking. I just don't see it. No hate, please.

Millhouse Manastorm is actually pretty good here because most people play only minions and get the spells for free anyway.
Also, Summoning Stone works wonders since the zero cost spells trigger the stone for their full mana price.

Typo in the last paragraph. There is "[cards]Brann Bronzebeard[/card]" instead of "[ card]Brann Bronzebeard[/card]".
