posted a message on my noob MAGE deck. please help.

You have half deck tempo half deck controll. Since you have Jaina I would go for the "control" list. Add the big AOE spell like flame striker, blizzard and use all the sinergyes you can find. After that i suggest you to replace all the tempo stuff with more elemental synergies.

You can also build  a list with tempo spell since you have Thalnos, but without the Mage weapon the list is defintely weaker once you go up the ranks.

I belive some of the problem is that he has a very limited collection. And most of his legendaries comes from opening 10 or less packs from each expantion. (This is an educated guess).

i therefore belive you can play Jaina as a stand alone value generator, and drop a lot of the elemental package, but add more midrange stuff that is just heavy enough so you don’t run out of steam at turn 6.

The deck feels very much like the starting Jaina deck from 2014 with a few exceptions.

If you cut all the insanely crappy cards, and add some useful ones... the deck becomes in a lot better shape

Start with removing the following: wax elemental, kaboom bot, tharllmar farseer, ice barrier, cone of cold, and lord of the arena, river crocolisk, dire wolf alpha, knife juggler

add: mana wyrm x2, any other secret of your choice x2, cosmic anomaly x2, arcane intellect x2, arcane explosion (if you dot have shooting star), arcanologist x2, sorcerers apprentice, 1x acidic swamp ooze,...

theese are some suggestions. If you don’t have the dust, don’t craft them.... we’ll try to find other options instead

posted a message on I need help building a deck!

I can help you come up with some decent deck ideas. First of all: where on the ladder are you?

Make your collection public, or you can add me on EU:

Also notice that a lot of mediocre decks can become decent with proper piloting and the right techs.

    Quote from Xynot >>

Is there any evidence that the system is anything more than a random match for your rank+stars with a similar opponent?  Would it be so hard for Team 5 to state such and put the rumors to bed?

They also add a key component called MMR and I also belive they tweak the matches to be more “interesting”. It’s not very unlikely that they give you “bad” matchups if your mmr is too good.... All of this can be done within the same rank / stars category. I have also frequently played against people who were at far higher rank then me on the ladder in prime time... I was rank 3 and faced oponent at rank 1 where I had a 14 win winstreak..

point is... it’s not only ranks and stars...

Beat the crap out of this deck with mech paladin, alextrasa warrior and sap miracle rogue with edwin. There are tons of counters to this deck... so don’t worry too much about it. Mech pala ran annoy o tron, mechwarper annoy o matic zilliax and humiliate, and the 4 mana mech taunt that cannot be targeted by spells or heropowers...

Warrior ran alexstraza champion, deaths bite, execute, frothing, 2 mana draw for each damaged character and amalgam. I guess there are a lot better lists out there that completely shuts this down.

posted a message on Should i craft controllock and viability of controllock?

The only matchup where rin can be an option is vs warrior. And you have to kill your own rin at the same turn, otherwise they will silence it.

I think I’d rather discover rin from a stonehill defender then craft her.

I can tell you that between 5 and legend you won’t see a single odd paladin but some people runs zoo.

If you want to craft necessary cards for control warlock are totally up to you, but depending on how many cards you’re missing I’d think twice.

i would also consider druid cards, since..... well.... it’s druid cards... almost every druid archetype runs the same package wich is straight up insane. The cards I’m looking at are the following: spreading plague, UI, branching paths, ferocious howl. Twig might also be an option along with floop. Rest are basics like wild growth and nourish, innervate etc. Finally you need your archetype... that’s a single card like malygos, or a 2-3 card combo like azalina and togwaggle, with a florist. You can add some taunts hadronox the 4 mana recruit and some cubes, and you’re looking at taunt druid. You can add some violet teachers and some whisps and you’re a token druid....

My point is: druid cards are good.

posted a message on Activision-Blizzard has gone too far with the Mega Bundle

My main point is that you don’t have a single card from the new expantion, and therefore has a higher chance of getting cards you don’t own. If the prepurchase value would be the same as witchwood you’d get 70 packs instead of the 50.

also the avg legendary drop rate from packs are 1 legendary every 25 packs.

If they gave you 3200 dust in addition to the packs instead of a random golden legendary, I’d say this would be a far superior deal, but a random one wich most of the time are either being dusted to craft a single legendary or being kept since its golden, makes this deal feel like 1600 dust on top of the regular deal.

Also take into consideration that a pack with the lowest value contains 260 dust worth of cards if you have none of them from before.

Someone made a very interesting spreadsheet where the value from the WW expantion compared to theese new deals. Take a look at it, it’s posted on this forum.

Would you rather pick a RANDOM golden legendary over 20 packs? And thats in a new set where you have 0 cards?

To me, the 20 extra pack deal, is far better.

btw... a random golden legendary = 1600 dust to spend of your choice. 20 packs, avg. on 2k dust, and has far greater value in a new set, where you don’t have cards.

I’m from Norway too... looks like we have to travel, or wait....I’m not sure if I’ll throw my money at blizzard this time, if I have to double the amount to be able to have some fun with them before the launch.

Atleast I’ll hold my money and make my decision on the last day before the offer expires.

posted a message on Card ideas to counter Kingsbane Rogue?

I found toggwaggle azalina, aviana kun, to counter kingsbane rogue quite easily. Just steal the weapon when it’s in the deck.

make sure to not play stuff in the end to force him to spend his weapon charge, otherwise you will beat him in fatigue.

never draw, his coldlight oracles draws for you.

The last adventure rotated out with year of the raven. Old adventures consisted of multiple wings wich used to be 700g per wing. Each wing gave you some neutral cards and class cards. Previous adventures are: Naxx, Brm, Loe, and Kara.

-The OP cards are more or less educated guess and are easier to figure out if the meta is unhealthy. If some decks are just ridiculously strong due to some cards, and the same cards makes appearances in other decks, that’s a good nerf indicator. If no such cards exist, blizzard has to add more cards to the pool in order to break the game. They’ve done so multiple times before.

I’m also not a fan of dusting cards unless I have the maximum amount of the spesific card that’s allowed in a deck.

im also a veteran who has played since 2014, and benefits from having been able to play through the expantions. However, my kid has an account aswell, and I’ve made some smaller investments to that account in order to make some viable wild/standard decks. She can play a lot of archetypes, but some decks has suboptimal options, and some decks are fully optimized. The account is about 1 year old.

Be aware that kft, ungoro, and Kac will rotate next year. Personally I  still am getting those packs for my kid, but she’s playing both formats, and so am I.

I would also recommend not dusting cards you know are overpowered. Dusting card by card are always better then “hitting the button”. Almost every expantion stuff gets nerfed. And blizzard announced early that they were looking on cubelock etc... keeping stuff with similar power level to old corridor creeper, old cubelock, and old spiteful, always brings back the decent dust value you should have got in the first place.

Its also always more cost efficient to get new cards when opening packs then getting duplicates. If you have a small collection it might be wise to spread you gold on different expantions instead of going all in on one.

also try to keep track of pity timer. Epics are 1/10and legends are 1/40 I think. On avg. epics should be 1/5 and legends 1/25.

buying one pack from old gods gives you cthun, wich with some enablers allows you to play a lot of class dependent cthun archetypes.

the old adventures was the best value you could get for your money if you exclude the welcome bundle.

    Good luck :)

I would recommend playing wild. Get the staples for archetypes over time, and buy adventures for your main. Over time new expantions will become less expensive because new archetypes requires less new cards to be viable for the format. I do understand your strategy regarding buying packs from witchwood, but try to see the long game here, unless you want to throw a lot of money at blizzard 3 times a year.
