I don't think buying decks is the way to go, it will make too much salt. I think a cool way to give new players access to more cards is to make some of the deck recipes available to play for free and then rotating which decks every week.

Sparkaz posted a message on Deck Spotlight: Spark's Beast Master HunterPosted in: NewsI'm sorry to come here again but I just wanted to try and stop the polemic and do the work for all the people that don't quite understand the historic here. I know I shouldn't put more mental investment into those childish and useless talks but I don't like unfairness and free nastiness. I'll try to learn and ignore this with time ...
Anyway, here it is :This Deck created during S30 is a straight update from this Deck also created in S30.
Which is a straight update from this Deck created in S25 with Old Gods release.
Itself being an update from this Deck created in S20 with League of Explorers.
Which has been updated from this Deck created in S19 with The Grand Tournament.
Which is a straight update from this Deck created in S13 with Blackrock Mountain.
Itself being an update of this Deck created in S11 after the Undertaker nerf.
Which has been updated from this Deck created in S6 after the Starving Buzzard nerf.
Which is a straight update from this Deck created in S6 with Naxxramas.
Which has emerged from this Deck created in S4 with the Classic set.
Itself coming from the first few Beast Hunter I played on Hearthstone before starting to post some guides here. Now, accuse me of copying, vomit all your meaningful words at me, hate me, hate my Decks, shit on me ... But please respect this website and remember what it is originally about !
All those posts share one thing in common : a solid guide to go along with the Deck ! And that's the only reason why this Deck is spotlighted today.
Dislike if you want but please respect the time I invested into those, because this is more about the content than the Decks ...Best regards and good luck on the game !

LastBlackDodo posted a message on Saying WELL PLAYED when you win - why?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from LiangHuBBB jumpIt's sth I have noticed these days and I am asking this out of curiosity. Why do 6/10 players always say WELL PLAYED ( emote ) once they won the match? How come only 1/20 players actually say WELL PLAYED when they lost? I usually use the WELL PLAYED emote only when I got outplayed and my opponent won the match then, but I never use this emote when I win or have overrun my opponent.
Does this annoy you or you don't care? Just wondering. Thanks for reading.
The WELL PLAYED is the equivalent of the GG after a game. It's just good manners to thank each other for the game. So I try to do it often. And although it is a courtesy for both parties, it's more understandable if the losing party does not say gg, because of understandable saltyness.
But it's funny to see that in Hearthstone, quite some players seem to interpret it cynically as trash talking, while it is a standard in almost every other multiplayer game.

Flood posted a message on Rank 20 to #1 Legend in 4 days of TGT [Deck Lists]Posted in: General DiscussionHey HearthPwn!
I am going from rank 20 to Legend on NA starting on on the first day of TGT and ending on the end of the August season! I usually hit legend in the first week and a half of the start of the season on NA, EU and Asia, but this time I waited to try and challenge my deck building skills, deck understanding skills and as always composer -- because I can never draw fucking lighting fucking storm in the fucking top 15 fucking cards FUCK . <3
Day 1: Ranked from 20 to 5
Today was very easy. I played like around 40 games. Mostly with the Shaman list. The Druid I played for 5, the Paladin maybe 5(Played a lot of Paladin and Druid on EU today also.)
I believe that Shaman is a very very Strong deck now. It has a bad Match up VS Paladin if they get muster and you don't get lightning storm, but other than that it seems great VS everything else. I recommend Shaman for ladder it is very fun.
Day 1 Decks: Shaman, Paladin, Druid
Shaman: A very strong midrange deck. It has great starts with Zombie Chows, Totem Golem etc. It has a good match up VS everything but Token Paladin and Patron. For patron you need to rush them down and hex emperor.
Paladin: Crazy strong deck. Similar to aggro paladin because of the fast starts, but it cant auto win with Quardermaster and mostly have a full board. And Murloc knight is crazy sometimes.
Druid: So much stronger than the token Druids that were played PRE BRM. Living roots is what Druid needed VS aggro and not to mention Darnassus <3 so good.
Goals for Tomorrow: Hit legend, play different decks(Dragon Priest, ?)
Going for Rank 1 Legend:
RANK 8 BOYZ That is highest I got today with this deck: I am going to try and hit #1 sometime soon man this seems like the strongest deck to play ATM
#1 Legend Hybrid Druid [TGT] Unknown Deck by Flood - Aug 27, 2015Minion (15) - 1x Dr. Boom
- 2x Ancient of Lore
- 2x Azure Drake
- 2x Darnassus Aspirant
- 2x Keeper of the Grove
- 2x Violet Teacher
- 2x Druid of the Claw
- 2x Piloted Shredder
Ability (15) - 1x Force of Nature
- 2x Innervate
- 2x Living Roots
- 2x Power of the Wild
- 2x Wild Growth
- 2x Wrath
- 2x Savage Roar
- 2x Swipe
Loading Collection if you would like me to write a guide on any of these decks like this one(LINK). I will if I feel I can play it at the highest level of understanding.

Aelfscyne posted a message on Patron Decks and Blizzard's Own WordsPosted in: General DiscussionAs everyone knows, Patron decks are very popular right now. They rely on waiting for a big combo play that allows for a one turn kill without any chance for your opponent to counter. Some people like this sort of play but many do not. Players who have been around for awhile may recall a similar situation that existed in Beta. This situation revolved around a prior version of Warsong Commander that buffed ANY minion with charge no matter what its attack value was, Molten Giant, and Youthful Brewmaster. These are the cards in the beta versions (note the pre-nerf Warsong Commander):
This combo allowed a Warrior with 10 health to deal 27 damage for 5 mana from a clean board or 38 damage for 7 mana from a clean board. After a long duration of time enduring this broken combo, Blizzard finally addressed it by nerfing Warsong Commander to its current form. Variations of this sort of OTK could be had with the pre-nerf version of Charge, which used to be a 0 mana card that gave a minion Charge (but with no damage bonus). In making the changes to Warsong Commander and Charge, Blizzard stated (here's a link to Eric Dodson's blog explaining the changes):
-
Cards and combinations that can kill your opponent from a high amount of Health without any minions starting on the board are also not very interactive, and this is why we recently changed Charge and Warsong Commander.
Another Blizzard developer explained the changes as follows (source link):
-
Both of these cards were key components in “One Turn Kill” or “OTK” decks that kill your opponent in one turn without requiring any cards on the board. We want the game to be about playing minions and fighting for board control rather than just waiting until you can play your big combo and win in one turn with no interaction from your opponent.
Seems beyond debate that the current Patron deck combos fit this same description. I suspect Blizzard is hopeful the Patron spectacle will fade with TGT and they won't need to eat humble pie and implement a nerf (which they seem loathe to do given how long they have had us endure other broken mechanics like pre-nerf Undertaker, Unleash the Hounds, etc.) I am not convinced. Blizzard has clearly stated the type of gameplay that Patron decks represent is not what they want in Hearthstone. Hopefully they'll remember that soon and do the right thing.
Addendum: I readily admit the Patron deck requires more intricate management and skill than the Molten Giant combo of beta. But I've played Patron and it's not that hard. When I can win 80% of the time with the deck it's not that I am some sort of Hearthstone wunderkind. It's because the deck is broken.

I run 1 in my deck. It's actually pretty great. Even on one totem it can keep it alive for that single extra turn to get super value. It has arguably won me a few games.

Old Murk Eye
What a boss.
I don't have him but I really really want Elite Tauren Chieftain. His intro is awesome.

In my experience with a deck very similar to this, the matchup with control (namely warrior and priest) is very reliant on getting a good turn 1 and 2. If you can Totem Golem out on turn 1 or two it gives you a crazy strong board presence to deal with early threats. That plus rockbiter weapon for the hero and you're already in front by a long way.
If you get a slow start, or they somehow deal with yours, that's when you end up bottoming out. A key for stopping this I've found is planning your thunderbluff valiant turn a couple of turns in advance. Ensure you have at least one totem on the board. So that when you activate inspire you get the effect on at least two totems. A mid game Tuskar Totemic is usually key to this. He gives you a totem and a his own body that opponents tend to focus on for some reason.

You sure about that one champ?

Pfft. I've won about 50% of the games I've been hunter. People just like whinging.
Acidmaw is a bad card. Clearly. However, a turn 10 combo with Unleash won me a game. Was pretty insane to see him wipe 20+ mana worth of minions off the board in one turn.
