acrugby posted a message on [LEGEND] Who Am I... Jokes Just Standard Mid-range PaladinPosted in: [LEGEND] Who Am I... Jokes Just Standard Mid-range PaladinI replaced Quartermaster and Justicar Trueheart with Sylvanas Windrunner and Ragnaros the Firelord and the deck has been working really well for me. I hit rank 5 for the first time! The deck works so well against Secret Paladin, which is about half of the matchups between rank 7 and 5, you just have to mulligan for Zombie Chow or Shielded Minibot, even coin it in case he plays Knife Juggler.
I've struggled a bit against control priest (Entomb is so broken) and some aggro shamans who curved really well, otherwise the deck is really consistent even in late game. Thanks to the hero power you always have something in the board so sometimes you don't need to play more than one card each turn (especially if you play justicar with quartermaster, but i dont have them).

LightChampion posted a message on [LEGEND] Who Am I... Jokes Just Standard Mid-range PaladinPosted in: [LEGEND] Who Am I... Jokes Just Standard Mid-range PaladinI cant speak for anyone else. But my personal opinion on the matter of this deck is simple. It is extremely well rounded and fun. I've been playing since beta and pally has always be my favorite class. I know how to play almost any pally deck near instantly because of the nature of the cards. This deck imo is far better then secret pally. I'll justify that now. The time i spent grinding with secret pally was so frustrating, it was always win or lose because of some combo with the secrets. It was boring. This deck I've already had so many more fun games with it then any other deck. Its strong enough to handle late game like secret pally, but FAR better at racing from the games I've played. So the aggro decks you will always see don't mean a hard game so much as it means a fast game. As well as the simple fact as stated this deck is so much more fun to play then secret pally. And personally i would always do a mid range pally over a secret pally. And that was to justify my opinion on the matter only made this long because I've read enough comment sections to know that often times people auto discard opinion they don't agree with. Now if you don't agree, i'm putting the pressure on you to justify your opinion. A simple statement of "Lol what are you a n00b? Secret pally is obviously better then mid range." And as for my note to the creator of this awesome deck, this deck is amazing thank you. Though ill admit to be running a murloc knight over Trueheart. Not by choice so much as i don't have it. I would run true heart over it almost anyway. Priest ill say its a bit better if matched up against control because its one of the things they wast there turn entombing (Like you said its better to just let them wast the turn) and can get out more advantage if they don't want to wast the entomb and cant kill it instantly. Though almost every other time the Trueheart is better. Didn't really disagree on any points you made, though I will say that if the meta slows down even more id consider putting in a second Lay on Hands. Just because if the meta is slower the aggro decks will be slower more likely (This is all based on the reason being big enough that aggro simply cant work out due to something like Reno, not a surge of people running control out of nowhere) it be nice to have the extra heals for close games. Maybe a heal bot in that case but id try a second lay on hands before that with this deck.

Jokes Just Standard Mid-range PaladinThanks for the list, I'm a newer player and its my first attempt at ladder play. This deck helped go from rank 9 to rank 5 on EU. I was missing Tirion, but it still worked wonders. Lucky with streaks too. Snapshot of stats:

Baron Geddon or black knight would do. Even sunwalker is good (Y)

Most of the time people lose with this deck is solely because of the mulligan. If you are playing against the aggressive match-ups, you look for cards that will prolong the game to run them out of steam, like doomsayer, truesilver, forbidden healing, aldor, humility, acolyte and etc. This also applies to mid-range match-ups.
TIPS: Don't drop down Pyromancer just because you can play it because it is essential for full board clears with equality. Only play cards without value if you need to for board or tempo.
The control match-up, you are playing the value game and using your cards to counteract their win conditions, while pressuring enough to force your opponent's reactive cards to be used on mediocre boards than your own win condition (N'zoth). Against slow match-ups, the mulligan doesn't necessary matter too much since you are probably going to hero power each turn, but I like truesilver champion, acolyte of pain (to draw into more reactive cards), aldor, and doomsayer.
Sometimes against control match-ups you need to consider fatigue since it is a win or lose factor. What I like to do is to only draw when your opponent does, but of course if you are pressured to a point you need to draw, then definitely draw for answers.
Lastly, playing control decks, you are allowed to be greedy depending on how much health you have and healing in hand (forbidden healing and lightlord). This allows you to play more conservative and use equality and consecrate (or pyromancer) on a bigger board rather than using it right away on board with 3 minions just because you feel somewhat pressured. Easiest way to see this is with Control Warrior having 60 health and your opponent only has 3 minions on board. Just because you have so much health and you want to have a good brawl, you are allowed to be greedy because of the massive health and wait for a better brawl.
This is a brief guide, but this is the sort of mindset I have when playing with any control deck in general, so this also applies to control warrior. Hope this helped a bit and always adapt to various of scenarios. :)
I also have a brief video that I posted earlier for gameplay

Hey guys, I made a detailed video for Chakki's Control Paladin with a detailed deck tech, the cards, and also certain substitutions. I believe this deck is one of the strongest control deck atm and is really well built.
One substitution I forgot to mention is for Eadric the pure, and I would probably sub in a sunwalker or the corrupted fen creeper, since eadric the pure is there to prolong the game, so running another taunt is somewhat the same.
The video is long so I have annotations to skip through the deck tech (cards, pros/cons, and subs) and also the games. Happy grinding :)

If they shoot something else other than Dr. Boom, Dr. Boom becomes stronger and uncontested. General rule, I would rather my opponent BGH a weaker target than a bigger one and that is how you win games most of the time. Let's imagine Raganaros instead of Dr. Boom in the deck, where you want your opponent to BGH a weaker target so that Raganaros can stay on board and potentially win the game for you. If played correctly, you should be able to Kings your minibot and silver hand recruits, while also using it for reach.
Also, people might think why only run one BGH target then? The reason why is because Dr. Boom itself can contest BGH with the Boom Bots, so another BGH target is not required. :) Hope this helped.

If a deck had all easy match-ups, everyone will be just playing one deck to climb and there will be no Hearthstone. Medium match-ups depends on how skilled you are and how you play the match-up to win the game, so you can have 70%~ win-rate against it. Easy/Hard is due to the nature of the deck being good or bad against certain match-ups, but still not unbeatable or unwinnable.

one murloc knight and one bgh

Haha thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

I guess I can tell you briefly how to tech in cards. I learnt from taking a consistent deck and just following the curve. If I take out a 6 drop, I would like to put in a 6 drop. You then sub cards on what you need and you will eventually figure it out when you play a lot. For instance, if you are playing a lot of face hunters with this deck, you will feel that you need more heal to win against this match-up. You then figure out what kind of heal cards I can put in, such as another lay on hands, antique healbot, tuskar jouster or Earthen ring Farseer. Then looking at the deck, you look at what you don't need at the moment, so in this instance, you would replace loatheb against a minion-based meta.
Be confident in teching in cards and even if it doesn't work, you learn that it doesn't work and that to me is the easiest way to understand the game.
In your case, I would put in Slyvanas or Piloted sky golem for Justicar and replace Keeper for one Big game hunter and Murloc Knight. Keeper of Uldaman is a unique card on its own and since you don't have them, BGH is essential.
